The Relationship Between Financial Development and the Composite Stock Price Index in Emerging Market Countries: A Panel Data Evidence

This study examines the influence of financial development variables on the Composite Stock Price Index (CSPI) in Emerging Market Countries. This study uses secondary data obtained from the International Monetary Fund and Yahoo Finance, with an annual data period of 2000–2020. Panel data regression analysis using the random effects model was performed to analyze data. The results showed that Financial Market Access Index (FMAI) and Financial Market Depth Index (FMDI) variables had a positive and significant relationship affecting CSPI, while Financial Market Efficiency Index (FMEI) had a negative and significant relationship to CSPI. The FMEI results negatively affecting CSPI indicate the need for improvements in financial market efficiency. Increased efficiency can help ensure that relevant and accurate information is available quickly and fairly to all parties, driving better investment decisions

PENERAPAN KONSEP KEWIRAUSAHAAN MELALUI PELATIHAN MEMBUAT PRODUK OLAHAN IKAN DI DESA ULAK BANDING, KECAMATAN INDRALAYA, KABUPATEN OGAN ILIR

Rendahnya rasio kewirausahaan di Indonesia akibat beberapa masalah krusial seperti akses permodalan yang sulit, rendahnya pengetahuan mengenai wirausaha, kurangnya inovasi, serta stigma masyarakat yang cenderung berminat menjadi karyawan. Permasalahan serupa juga terjadi di lingkungan masyarakat Kabupaten Ogan Ilir, salah satunya di Desa Ulak Banding. Masyarakat Ulak Banding tidak memiliki akses pasar sendiri sehingga pengetahuan tentang perdagangan dan kewirausahaan masih terbilang rendah. Oleh karena itu, Tim Pengabdian Fakultas Ekonomi Universitas Sriwijaya akan melakukan pelatihan pemberdayaan kewirausahaan bagi masyarakat non-produktif dengan memanfaatkan peluang usaha kuliner khas Sumatera Selatan menggunakan sumber daya alam perikanan sebagai salah satu pendamping dari pertanian yaitu pempek yang berprotein tinggi. Mayoritas mata pencarian utama masyarakat Desa Ulak Banding sebagai petani dan nelayan. Dengan demikian, peluang ini dapat memberikan kemudahan proses pembuatan, bahan mentah dan biaya yang rendah. Model kegiatan pemberdayaan masyarakat Desa Ulak Banding dalam kegiatan ini adalah pelatihan keilmuan wirausaha yang memberikan nilai tambah bagi masyarakat serta penginisiasian kewirausahaan dengan ceramah, diskusi serta experimental learning diiringi pendampingan dengan pendekatan partisipatif di mana melibatkan peran masyarakat secara langsung dalam berbagai proses pelaksanaan kegiatan. Kegiatan ini mendapat respon positif dari masyarakat. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat membentuk usaha rumah tangga agar kegiatan ekonomi di Desa Ulak Banding menjadi lebih aktif. Kata kunci: pemberdayaan masyarakat, kewirausahaan, usaha kuliner, pertumbuhan ekonomi ABSTRACT The low ratio of entrepreneurship in Indonesia is due to several crucial problems such as difficult access to capital, low knowledge about entrepreneurship, lack of innovation, and the stigma of people who tend to be interested in becoming employees. Similar problems are also rife in the community of Ogan Ilir Regency, one of which is in Ulak Banding Village. The Ulak Banding community whose main livelihood is as farmers, do not have their own market access so that their knowledge about trade and entrepreneurship is still relatively low. The local government also did not make efforts to establish people's businesses or household businesses. Therefore, we will conduct entrepreneurship empowerment training for non-productive communities by taking advantage of culinary business opportunities typical of South Sumatra using fishery natural resources as one of the companions of agriculture, namely Pempek lenjer and high protein egg pempek. Because of the ease of the manufacturing process, raw materials and low costs. The model of community empowerment activities in Ulak Banding Village in this activity is entrepreneurship scientific training that provides added value to the community as well as initiating entrepreneurship with lectures, discussions and experiential learning accompanied by assistance with a participatory approach which involves the role of the community directly in various process implementation activities. This activity received a positive response from the community. It is hoped that this activity can form a household business so that economic activities in Ulak Banding Village become more active. Identifying factors influencing the low-income community in urban slum settlements in South Sumatera, Indonesia

The study is identifying factors influencing the low-income community in urban slum settlements in South Sumatra. The data utilized is primary data is taken through surveys and in-depth interviews. The samples were taken from 115 respondents purposively in the three cities of Palembang, Prabumulih, and Pagar Alam that are receiving benefits from the KOTAKU Program. The methods utilized are descriptive qualitative and quantitative approaches by applying multiple regression models. This study's findings indicate that jointly the variables of education level, age, family members, income expectations, and work types significantly affect the low-income communities' income level. Likewise, partially the education level variables, the family members, income expectations, and types of work positively and significantly affect income level. In contrast, the age variable has a negative and significant effect on the low-income community's income level in urban slums of South Sumatra

Trilemma to Quadrilemma: An empirical study from Indonesia

The objective of this study is to test the trilemma and the quadrilemma monetary policy using Indonesia data with covering years 1983 – 2017. The research suggest that the monetary independence and capital account openness might have been more passionately pursued by Bank Indonesia for testing the trilemma; while testing of the quadrilemma, the concentration seems to have shifted to take a middle position within each policy objectives. In this study, the full sample period is split in three subsamples: 1983-2017, 1983 – 1999 and 2000 – 2017. The methodology used in this research is ordinary least square. Our findings show that the policy might have shifted from exchange rate stability, capital account openness and foreign reserves in the first subsample to other four policy objectives in the second subsample. It indicates that foreign reserve plays as fourth objective leading the central bank to achieve at the same time the three “impossible” goals. Therefore, taking into account foreign reserve as a monetary policy objective is deserved. Adequacy of reserves could higher our capacity to prevent or mitigate external shocks

Sustainability of Microfinance Institutions: An Analysis of Influencing Factors in South Sumatra Province

Microfinance has become an important tool for poverty alleviation in many countries and the Indonesian government through various intervention programs to overcome poverty has also implemented microfinance programs in Indonesia, one of which is through the Kota Tanpa Kumuh (Kotaku) Program. This study aims to analyze the factors that affect the sustainability of the Financial Management Unit (UPK) Microfinance Institutions (MFI) operating in South Sumatra Province. The purpose of this study is to gain a better understanding of these factors and their sustainability so that they can provide recommendations to stakeholders at both the central and regional levels. The data collection method was used by surveying 50 samples of the UPK Community Self-Reliance Agency (BKM) spread across three cities, namely Palembang City, Prabumulih City and Lubuk linggau City which is the largest city there are UPK BKM microfinance institutions from 7 cities and districts intervened in the Province   South Sumatra. The analytical method in this study uses logistic regression to analyze data using descriptive qualitative analysis to explain the factors that influence the sustainability of UPK BKM Microfinance Institutions (MFI) in South Sumatra Province. Peningkatan Manajemen Usaha Industri Kue Kering Melalui Hampers Pack Di Desa Kota Daro

The village of Daro II City, Rantau Panjang District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra has the opportunity to produce pastries that can be used as housewives as an effort to increase income. This is motivated by most of the people who really like pastries because they are delicious, savory, and delicious. Therefore, this community service provides training on planning and business results for the pastry industry. This community service was carried out in Kota Daro Village on Thursday, November 15 2018. Participants who took part in this activity were 40 housewives, 3 students, and 2 lecturers.Methods of carrying out activities by providing literacy or education, demonstrations, discussions and evaluations. The community already knows how to process and package good pastries to increase the economic value that is profitable if managed properly.Desa Kota Daro II Kec. Rantau Panjang, Kab. Ogan Ilir memiliki peluang dalam memproduksi kue kering yang dapat dijadikan ibu rumah tangga sebagai usaha dalam meningkatkan pendapatan. Hal tersebut dilatarbelakangi oleh sebagian besar dari masyarakat sangat menyukai kue kering karena rasanya yang enak, gurih, dan nikmat. Oleh karena itu pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini memberikan pelatihan perencanaan dan hasil usaha industri kue kering. Pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan di Desa Kota Daro pada Kamis, 15 November 2018. Target peserta yang mengikuti kegiatan ini sebanyak 30 orang ibu rumah tangga, 3 orang mahasiswa, dan 2 orang dosen. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan dengan memberikan literasi atau edukasi, demonstrasi, diskusi dan evaluasi. Masyarakat telah mengetahui bagaimana cara mengolah dan mengemas kue kering yang baik untuk meningkatkan nilai ekonomi yang menguntungkan bila dikelola dengan benar

Peran Fintech dalam Meningkatkan Keuangan Inklusif UMKM

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui peranan financial technology dalam meningkatkan keuangan inklusif Usaha Mikro, Kecil dan Menengah di Sumatera Selatan. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu regresi linier sederhana. Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dari wawancara kepada pelaku Usaha Mikro, Kecil dan Menengah. Alat analisis data menggunakan IBM SPSS Statistics 20. Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa variabel financial technologi berpengaruh signifikan terhadap tingkat keuangan inklusif Usaha Mikro, Kecil dan Menengah di Sumatera Selatan. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada Usaha Mikro, Kecil dan Menengah di Sumatera Selatan dengan sampel penelitian yaitu Usaha Mikro, Kecil dan Menengah di Kota Palembang.Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan informasi dan saran kepada pemerintah tentang kondisi tingkat keuangan inklusi Usaha Mikro, Kecil dan Menengah di Sumatera Selatan, sehingga dapat menjadi referensi bagi pemerintah dalam mengambil kebijkan untuk terus meningkatnya keuangan inklusi pada Usaha Mikro, Kecil dan Menengah

Pelatihan E-commerce pada Industri Rumah Tangga di Desa Kerinjing, Kabupaten Ogan Ilir

Dewasa ini perkembangan Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) didukung dengan perkembangan teknologi. Adanya revolusi industri 4.0 memberikan dampak positif terhadap perkembangan dunia usaha. Pemanfaatan teknologi mutakhir tepat guna dalam pengembangan usaha yang berdasarkan pada jiwa entrepreneur yang mapan akan dapat mengoptimalkan proses sekaligus hasil dari unit usaha yang dikembangkan. Pelatihan e-Commerce pada home industry memberikan manfaat pada pelaku Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah di Desa Kerinjing untuk meningkatkan omset penjualan serta dapat mengembangkan usaha yang dijalaninya agar berkembang menjadi lebih besar lagi. Adanya website e-Commerce ini pelanggan yang didapat bukan hanya dari lingkup Desa Kerinjing saja, akan tetapi pelanggan bisa dari Desa Kerinjing bahkan bisa di luar Sumatera Selatan, tentunya dapat membantu pemerintah dalam meningkatkan perekonomian terutama didaerah desa, sehingga daerah desa menjadi terbuka peluang untuk bisa bersaing dikancah nasional maupun dikancah internasional. Proses pemesanan, proses penjualan dan stok barang bisa dilakukan dengan cepat dan akurat sehingga dapat membantu memonitoring usaha dan juga tentunya dapat meningkatkan omset penjualan bagi pelaku UMKM yang ada di Desa Kerinjing

FINANCIAL REPORT ASSISTANCE FOR MICRO BUSINESS IN ILIR BARAT II DISTRICT, PALEMBANG CITY

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have the potential to be developed because they contribute to the economy in Indonesia. MSMEs have a significant role in the country's economic growth The main objective of UMKM is basically to gain profits by increasing production efficiency, but in practice it often encounters many obstacles and problems, one of which is the problem of financial management. Good financial recording is very necessary because good financial recording and reporting can be used as a basis for analysis for managerial decisions that can affect business progress. The model of service activities is carried out by the method of coaching skills through the provision of materials and assistance. The result of the activity was that the participants had understood the basic material regarding financial statements, as well as provided assistance to  find out firsthand the problems faced by respondents and solutions to overcome these problems
