The evolution of the new Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) is implying an

The purpose of this paper is to analyze empirically the influence of the variables Technological Complexity, Training and Support and Technical Support within an organization and how they can affect the end use intention of cloud technology. 150 companies from Andalusia were evaluated through a survey. The key aspects that have been identified with this intention have been the availability in the technical support, doubts or problems of use related to the complexity and the adequacy of the training received by the organization. The results indicate that complexity has a negative effect, while training and support are key, with a very similar weight, in the intention to use, finding that shared or cooperative knowledge is key in the adoption of cloud computing technology
Cloud Computing (SaaS) Adoption as a Strategic Technology: Results of an Empirical Study
The present study empirically analyzes the factors that determine the adoption of cloud computing (SaaS model) in firms where this strategy is considered strategic for executing their activity. A research model has been developed to evaluate the factors that influence the intention of using cloud computing that combines the variables found in the technology acceptance model (TAM) with other external variables such as top management support, training, communication, organization size, and technological complexity. Data compiled from 150 companies in Andalusia (Spain) are used to test the formulated hypotheses. The results of this study reflect what critical factors should be considered and how they are interrelated. They also show the organizational demands that must be considered by those companies wishing to implement a real management model adopted to the digital economy, especially those related to cloud computing
Determinants of adoption of clud computing services by small, medium and large companies
Manufacturing sector organizations have seen an improvement in their competitiveness due to the digital
economy. However, there must be a steady migration from an organization with a restricted use of
Information Technology, to one in which Information Technology is commonly used for all of the different
activities of the company. Based on this migration, organizations of all types can generate increases in
productivity and competitiveness. This in turn contributes to advances in progress and welfare by creating
more opportunities.
This study proposes to advance knowledge about the implementation of cloud technology so that an
organization can become more competitive. The current technology available for improving
competitiveness in all areas of a company by exploiting data, providing services and for the use of
resources, is cloud computing. This novel technology will be investigated and the findings will be used to
describe the state of this technology in our country at the moment. It will also show how the complexity of
these systems and the attitudes of the organizations and people involved, depending on the size of the
organization and its management style, influence the adoption of cloud computing systems
Cloud computing (SaaS) adoption as a strategic technology: results of an empirical study
The present study empirically analyzes the factors that determine the adoption of cloud computing (SaaS model) in firms where this strategy is considered strategic for executing their activity. Electronic word-of-mouth communities from the perspective of social network analysis
This paper is focused on the identification of influencers that can have an important impact
over the decision-making of other users. For this purpose, a popular electronic word-of-mouth
community like Ciao.com has been modelled as a social network. Using social network analysis
techniques, the existence of influencers is justified by the power law distribution of user participation,
and then they are identified using their topological features within the social network.
The obtained results reveal that influencers are not determined by the number of performed
reviews, but by the variety or scope of their performed reviews and their central position in the
consumer network. The main contribution of this research is the identification of influencers
based on the participation features of community users. As a difference to other studies, results
are not based on surveys or opinions, but on the trace users leave when they post opinions,
comments or scoresJunta de Andalucia. Consejería de Economía, Innovación, Ciencia y Empleo P12-SEJ-328Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad ECO2013-43856-
Identification of Influencers in eWord-of-Mouth communities using their Online Participation Features
[EN] The identification of influencers in any type of online social network is of
paramount importance, as they can significantly affect consumers’
purchasing decisions. This paper proposes the utilization of a self-designed
web scraper to extract meaningful information for the identification of
influencers and the analysis of how this new set of variables can be used to
predict them. The experimental results from the Ciao UK website will be used
to illustrate the proposed approach and to provide new insights in the
identification of influencers. Obtained results show the importance of the
trust network, but considering the intensity and the quality of both trustors
and trustees.Olmedilla, M.; Arenas-Márquez, FJ.; Martinez-Torres, MR.; Toral, SL. (2016). Identification of Influencers in eWord-of-Mouth communities using their Online Participation Features. The use of multimedia applications in university education: a teaching experience
In this climate of change in university education, the improvement of teaching practice is an issue that
cannot be deferred, responding, as it does, to the requirements of society, to regulations, and to the
appearance of new student profiles. In response to this demand we are conducting a line of research
which focuses on the introduction of Information & Communication Technologies into Production &
Operations Management training. In this paper we give an account of a teaching experience which
included the development of a self-learning multimedia application. In-classroom trial use of the
application has provided results that illustrate how the tool impacted on students’ interest and
motivation, amongst other issues
An interactive tool for operations management education
In recent years, universities have become more aware of the advantages of incorporating the new
Information Communication Technologies (ICT) into their teaching. The Seville University GIDEAO
Group researches on the design and evaluation of ICT based software for Business Administration
training. One of these research lines focuses on the development of software related to Operations
Management Higher Education. This paper intends to show some of the findings in this topic, looking
at various aspects of an experiment devised to test the effectiveness of the software as a teaching tool
