An evaluation of alternative coating material laminated marble in Turkey

The natural stones stand at a significant point of human life from the existence of human-life to present time with their durable and persistent features. They have been used as an important construction material until the recent past. Although the production of marble material is widespread in Turkey, the conversion to the final case marble material is not observed prevalently. The aim of this study, the evaluation of the laminated marble material in terms of being used in architecture and the types of the advantages presented by the material are all listed at the end of the research. The results obtained from the architectural coating application carried out to examine the preferable reasons between marble and laminated marble are thought to have advantages in terms of flawless connection details, easy application, transportation and storage processes in comparison to the marble material for the case of coating surfaces with similar quality. The laminated marble material is more durable by the effect of 9 mm porcelain ceramic at the bottom than the traditional marble plate of 3 mm thickness and is nearly 50% lighter than the marble material having the same thickness and sizes with the laminated marble material that is clear that nearly 50% decrease in transportation costs will be expected. When viewed from this aspect, the new construction materials obtained by reconsidering and re-developing the natural materials in accompany with the innovativetechnological methods will contribute easy and eco-friendly to the architectural design-application projects especially in terms of easy application and utilization

Doulas’ Perceptions on Single Mothers’ Risk and Protective Factors, and Aspirations Relative to Child - Birth

This study the author aims to explore the perceptions of doulas on single mothers’ risk and protective factors, and aspirations relative to child - birth in the postpartum care. The current study was conducted by semi - structured questions, case file reviews, field notes, and twelve home visits via utilizing Grounded Theory. These mothers receive social services through a family services agency in Pittsburg h, PA. There were three doulas and three single mothers in the sample group. Findings displayed four themes: (a ) doula program is helpful for single mothers relative to child - birth, ( b ) social exclusion is a risk factor in single mothers lives relative to leading to single motherhood; (c ) support system is a protective factor in single mothers ’ lives relative to child - birth; and (d ) pursuing education and applying for jobs are the aspirations of single mothers relative to child - birt

Building Resilience on Adolescent Mental Health Associated with Emerging Risk and Protective Factors among Ethnic Groups

A bulk of studies have focused on systematically catalogued risk and protective factors (e.g., parental monitoring, peer, neighborhood support) in terms of adolescent mental health status concerning resilience; however, they did not display any improvement regarding adolescent mental health, particularly in school-based interventions. Therefore, I suggested that whether other emerging factors (e.g., nutrition, physical activity) could be beneficial to promote effective school-based interventions. Hence, I examined adolescent mental health outcomes (depression and suicidality) associated with dietary patterns, physical activity, social support, watching TV, video/computer games, and sleeping habits factors regarding resilience approach. A secondary data analysis was employed based on the 2011 national Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) among 15,364 12-18 year-old African American, Asian, and Caucasian adolescents. Regarding nutrition, low levels of fruit, vegetable, potato, and fruit juice were associated with higher odds of depression, suicidal ideation, suicide attempts, for the most part among diverse ethnicities. Similarly, greater green salad intake resulted in lower odds of poor mental health outcomes among Asians and Caucasians. Next, consistent with current literature, low levels of social support in schools and higher levels of joining a sport team were strong predictors of poor mental health outcomes among overall ethnic groups. Lastly, healthy sleeping patterns, greater physical activity, low levels of being bullied in school, cyber bullied, and video/computer games increased the risk of poor mental health outcomes among adolescents.published_or_final_versio
