STR-920: STRUCTURAL BEHAVIOUR OF REINFORCED HIGH PERFORMANCE CONCRETE COLUMNS SUBJECTED TO MONOTONIC AXIAL LOADING

This paper presents the results of experimental and analytical investigations on the structural performance of high performance reinforced concrete (HPC) columns subjected to monotonic axial loading. Reinforced columns made of self-consolidating concrete (SCC), engineered cementitious composite (ECC) and ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) were tested to failure under axial loading. The test variables included concrete strength and length/slenderness of columns (classified as short and long columns). The UHPC and ECC columns demonstrated excellent ductility and higher energy absorbing capacity compared to their SCC counterparts. UHPC columns also illustrated higher ultimate load capacity compared to both ECC and SCC columns. The efficiency of UHPC and ECC columns was also judged based on strength and ductility ratio compared to their SCC counterparts. Existing models and other Code based equations were used to predict the axial load capacity as a part of analytical investigation. The predictions suggested the need for the modification of existing models/Code based equations for UHPC and ECC columns

The background of the non-formal education is the improvement of informal education, the complement of formal education. Sanggar itself is a place of art activities, as an effort to improve the skills of the students built studio. To do that research on non-formal education as an effort to improve the skills of street children who become guided in the studio. The type of research used in this study is field research, using a qualitative approach. Data analysis used in this research is descriptive done by data reduction and data exposure. The result of this research is that the Bodol studio provides skills that match the interests and talents possessed by the sanggar children. The skills possessed by the assisted children of the studio are the skills of playing music. Efforts made by the studio to improve skills: provide assistance, have books that can support, the availability of supporting tools and the support of interests and talents owned by the child who became the guard studio

The current research investigates the Barriers in implementation of E-Business Technologies in Small and Medium enterprises (SMEs) in Pakistan. Data were collected from 2000 respondents by using simple random technique. A structural questionnaire was developed for the data collection and reliability and validity of data. It was revealed that most of the SMEs business owners are not familiar in using internet and in many cases they are not computer literate. It was further revealed that Government should provide some basic computer training to the Small and Medium Enterprises so they will able to use computer. The proper implementation of E-Business technologies in SMEs in Pakistan, Government and other related agencies can initiate E-Business in SMEs to achieve competitive edge

Psychiatric morbidity: prevalence, associated factors and significance

A cross-sectional observational systematic study was carried out on ambulatory patients at a tertiary care hospital to determine the probable prevalence, associated factors and significance of psychiatric morbidity by using an Urdu translation of the hospital anxiety and depression (HAD) scale over a period of 6 days in a week. Results showed a prevalence of 38.4% which is slightly higher than what has been generally reported (30%). Two variables, i.e., female sex and being a housewife were significantly related with the outcome. An attempt has been made to identify the probable reasons for this and some suggestions laid down for further work

This study aims to test the competence and motivation mediated by organizational commitment that affects employee performance, namely the Functional Officer of The Audit Custom and Excise Examiner at The Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DGCE). The research method uses a quantitative approach, with data collection using primary data, secondary data from Personnel Managers and library research, Primary data is determined by 77 respondents, obtained from sample selection using simple random sampling technique (Slovin 10% error tolerance) from a population of 318 Functional Officers of the Audit Custom and Excise Examiner. Data collection techniques using interviews and questionnaire instruments. The questionnaire survey instrument was randomly assigned to Functional Officer of Custom and. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM) with the Smart PLS3.0. software program to test the significance of competence and motivation in influencing employee performance and mediated by organizational commitment. The results showed that competence, motivation and organizational commitment had a significant positive effect on employee performance, either partially or simultaneously. Competence as the most important factor influences employee performance. In addition, competence is not mediated by organizational commitment but motivation is mediated by employee performance. The managerial implication is that the organization or leader must develop competence and motivation for employees to achieve their best performance with the highest priority on competency development.
