Resultados: Nesse período, a revista publicou 1.343 manuscritos. Conclusão: Essa diversidade temática demonstra a riqueza e heterogeneidade do campo Comunicação e Saúde. Introduction: Considering the importance of the Brazilian journal Interface among the Collective Health journals and as a space of production of knowledge and practices in the area in Latin America, this work aimed at mapping the scientific production related to communication in its various dimensions throughout the magazine’s 20 years of existence (1997 to 2017). Methodology: This is a descriptive study of the quantitative and qualitative aspects of production on communication through content analysis. Results: During this period, the journal published 1,343 manuscripts among which 154 were related to communication, representing 11.47% of all papers. Empirical studies were predominant (52.6%), followed by theoretical studies (25.97%). The identified thematic fields were: Media (26.62%); Collective Health (26.62%); Professional education (16.88%); Professional relationship, patient/family/service (14.29%); Information and Communication Technologies (9.09%); and Communication and society (1.3%). Conclusion: This thematic diversity demonstrates the Communication and Health field’s wealth and heterogeneity of topics. However, the low number of publications related to communication highlights the lack of scientific production on this matter in Collective Health

Arterial hypertension is a relevant public health problem as it is a risk factor for cardiovascular diseases, the major cause of mortality in Brazil. Low compliance and treatment dropout are among the main obstacles to individual control strategies. This study aimed at assessing the reasons for failure in medical appointment follow-up among a cohort of patients under treatment for four years in a primary care service. Thus, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 50 individuals who had dropped out of medical appointments. Statements were assessed by using thematic content analysis. The reported reasons for dropping out were most frequently related with the healthcare service itself - its organization and structure, and doctor-patient relationship - or treatment at another healthcare service. The reasons related with the patients themselves, such as absence of symptoms, improvement and/or normalization of arterial hypertension, as well as alcohol consumption contributed to the discontinuation of the treatment. To study the reasons for treatment dropout through the patients' eyes showed the abundance and diversity of problems involved

The autors would like to acknowledge the contributions of the participantsin the panel of experts. Their comments have helped us to reach moresuitable learning outcomes. They also want to thank the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria (Madrid, Spain)the financial support for the achievement of the projectTo present learning outcomes in clinical communication for a Core Curriculum for medical undergraduate students in Latin America, Portugal and Spain (LAPS-CCC) and to establish an expert network to support a transnational implementation. Through an iterative process, an international group of 15 experts developed an initial set of learning outcomes following a review and discussion of relevant international and local literature. A two-round Delphi survey involving 46 experts from 8 countries was performed. Quantative and qualitative analisis permited the definition of the final consensus. The initial proposal included 157 learning outcomes. The Delphi process generated 734 comments and involved the modification, deletion and addition of some outcomes. At the end of the process, a consensus was reached on 136 learning outcomes grouped under 6 competency domains with a high overall acceptance (95.1 %). The learning outcomes of this proposal provide a guide to introduce, support and develop communication curriculae for undergraduate medical studies in the countries involved or in other Spanish- or Portuguese-speaking countries.
