Razzismo nel calcio italiano: due casi a confronto

This work is based on a well-known phenomenon and deep-rooted in the sport: racism to players as a form of aggression. Starting from the quotation of the Mancino law n. 205 of 25 June 1993 and the regulations over the years have brought changes with the inclusion of DASPO, you may notice that in the twenty years after the introduction of this legislation, the situation remains similar. The two events I considered discriminatory, date back to Jan-uary 3 and May 12 of 2013, where the protagonists, respectively Boateng and Balotelli, two players of the same Italian team: AC Milan. To unite the protagonists/victims of the event is not only the profession or belonging to the same team (an element that this could justify a territorial discrimination), but the same skin color. To be able to explore the episodes in question, I have made use of newspaper articles published by the Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport in the week following the event. Through lessicometrica analysis, car-ried out with the support of Lexico3 software, I was able to examine specifically the two cases in question. The textual analysis is thus poses as a challenge, the challenge of those who try to gather the clues to dissolve the plot, the riddle of the meaning, the interpretation of the text..

Lo studente straniero : un valore aggiunto

This work focuses on the increasingly presence of foreign students in the Italian schools. Starting from the concept of globalization, going through multiculturalism, we arrive at the construction of an identity based on the education for inclusion. The democratic society of inclusion is achieved by creating a context in which everyone, regardless of ethnic background, culture, religion or income, can really feel part of a human community responsible and aware of its own rights and duties. This contributes to the evolution from the concept of monoculture society toward the multicultural one. Education, therefore, being a continuous process accompanying the growth of the people in time and space, aims to encourage the development of its own potential and, at the same time, offers new perspectives to look at the phenomenon of foreign students with greater transparency, evaluating it as an added value

The Role of Sustainable Entrepreneurs within Sustainable Energy Action Plans

Sustainable entrepreneurs are assumed to have a catalytic role in sustainable development, new ventures in the early stages and incumbent firms in the following stages. However, some studies argue that such radical shifts are unlikely to succeed without parallel political actions. This is particularly suiting in the case of energy sector and the transition to a low- carbon economy through renewable energy. Therefore, another stream of literature suggests to study sustainable entrepreneurship in a wider context with encompasses socio-ecological system. Then, there can be rooms for policy influencing new sustainable ventures with the aim of developing sustainable corporate cultures from the outset. Our study on the role of sustainable entrepreneurs within Sustainable Energy Action Plans show that incumbents firms are engaged in sustainable development in early stages as well as new ventures and that there is a mutual interplay between sustainable entrepreneurs and public institutions towards sustainable development. In other words either firms have an active role in triggering transition to sustainable development (i.e. institutional push) or are beneficiaries of public policies aimed at reshaping the local context towards sustainable development (institutional pull)

Nell'introduzione si è tentato di ricostruire l'entità e le peculiarità del rapporto tra i trovatori e Federico II e di offrire elementi per indagare la presenza e lo sviluppo del movimento trobadorico in Italia nella prima metà del XIII secolo. La seconda parte dello studio è costituita dall'antologia dei componimenti individuati. Al fine di preservare il valore di testimonianza storica, i testi antologizzati sono stati disposti in base a un ordinamento cronologico. Kindergarten Proximity and the Housing Market Price in Italy

This paper investigates the impact of kindergarten proximity on housing market prices in the eleven major Italian Municipalities over the period 2004–2017. For this purpose, we employ a hedonic property price model. We also differentiate the impact of kindergarten proximity on houses’ market price between state and non-state premises. The findings highlight that (i) the level of housing price depends on kindergarten proximity; (ii) some quality school characteristics played a crucial role and (iii) the distinction between public and non-state kindergartens shows that the vicinity of the latter generates a more significant capitalization effect. Finally, the empirical evidence could be useful to several actors involved in urban planning when developing plans for the construction of new kindergartens in order to create a more homogeneous city

Patient-reported outcomes in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus treated with dual oral therapy: a multicenter, observational study from Italy

Objective: To assess patient-reported outcomes after two years of use of dual oral anti-diabetes drug (OAD) therapy in elderly people (≥65 years) with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) from Italy under real-life settings. Methods: 3-AGE was a prospective, non-interventional study in elderly people with T2DM inadequately controlled on metformin monotherapy (defined as glycated hemoglobin [HbA1c] 7.0–9.0%), in whom a second OAD was prescribed. Primary endpoint was to assess the physical and psychological symptoms associated with T2DM from baseline to 24 months using the Diabetes Symptom Check List revised (DSC-R) questionnaire. Patient's quality of life and health status, treatment satisfaction, consumption of healthcare resources, and physician satisfaction with treatment were also assessed (secondary endpoints) using validated questionnaires. Additionally, safety and clinical characteristics were also evaluated. Results: The mean age of the study population (N = 860) was 71.5 ± 5.2 years. Collagen induction therapy for the treatment of upper lip wrinkles

Upper lip wrinkles are very common and impair the quality of life of many people due to their perceived unsightly appearance. Several options are available today for their treatment. A new therapeutic option, called collagen induction therapy (CIT), seems to be effective and safe for the treatment of upper lip wrinkles. The aim of this study is to demonstrate the efficacy and safety of CIT in the treatment of upper lip wrinkles. Ten female subjects, aged 50-65 years old, with upper lip wrinkles were enrolled. Each patient was treated with a specific tool in two sessions. Using a digital camera, photographs were taken of all the patients to evaluate the depth of the wrinkles and a silicon-print technique was used to obtain a microrelief impression of the wrinkles. Data of the cutaneous casts were analyzed by computerized image analysis. Analysis of the patients' photographs, supported by the sign test, and of the degree of irregularity of the surface microrelief, supported by Fast Fourier Transform and by wrinkle image processing, showed that, after only two sessions, the wrinkles' severity grade in most patients was greatly reduced. p21(WAF1 )expression induced by MEK/ERK pathway activation or inhibition correlates with growth arrest, myogenic differentiation and onco-phenotype reversal in rhabdomyosarcoma cells

BACKGROUND: p21(WAF1), implicated in the cell cycle control of both normal and malignant cells, can be induced by p53-dependent and independent mechanisms. In some cells, MEKs/ERKs regulate p21(WAF1 )transcriptionally, while in others they also affect the post-transcriptional processes. In myogenic differentiation, p21(WAF1 )expression is also controlled by the myogenic transcription factor MyoD. We have previously demonstrated that the embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma cell line undergoes growth arrest and myogenic differentiation following treatments with TPA and the MEK inhibitor U0126, which respectively activate and inhibit the ERK pathway. In this paper we attempt to clarify the mechanism of ERK-mediated and ERK-independent growth arrest and myogenic differentiation of embryonal and alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma cell lines, particularly as regards the expression of the cell cycle inhibitor p21(WAF1). RESULTS: p21(WAF1 )expression and growth arrest are induced in both embryonal (RD) and alveolar (RH30) rhabdomyosarcoma cell lines following TPA or MEK/ERK inhibitor (U0126) treatments, whereas myogenic differentiation is induced in RD cells alone. Furthermore, the TPA-mediated post-transcriptional mechanism of p21(WAF1)-enhanced expression in RD cells is due to activation of the MEK/ERK pathway, as shown by transfections with constitutively active MEK1 or MEK2, which induces p21(WAF1 )expression, and with ERK1 and ERK2 siRNA, which prevents p21(WAF1 )expression. By contrast, U0126-mediated p21(WAF1 )expression is controlled transcriptionally by the p38 pathway. Similarly, myogenin and MyoD expression is induced both by U0126 and TPA and is prevented by p38 inhibition. Although MyoD and myogenin depletion by siRNA prevents U0126-mediated p21(WAF1) expression, the over-expression of these two transcription factors is insufficient to induce p21(WAF1). These data suggest that the transcriptional mechanism of p21(WAF1 )expression in RD cells is rescued when MEK/ERK inhibition relieves the functions of myogenic transcription factors. Notably, the forced expression of p21(WAF1 )in RD cells causes growth arrest and the reversion of anchorage-independent growth. CONCLUSION: Our data provide evidence of the key role played by the MEK/ERK pathway in the growth arrest of Rhabdomyosarcoma cells. The results of this study suggest that the targeting of MEK/ERKs to rescue p21(WAF1 )expression and myogenic transcription factor functions leads to the reversal of the Rhabdomyosarcoma phenotype

Quantitative assessment of dimensional evolution of solitary osteoma of the mandible through 14 years of radiographic follow-up analysis: A unique case report

Abstract Head & Neck Osteomas are extremely rare osteogenic benign tumors, with unclear pathogenesis and heterogeneous clinical behavior. There are no studies in literature showing the characteristics of dimensional growth of such lesions. We report a case of a peripheral solitary osteoma of the sigmoid notch of the mandibular ramus, describing its radiographic growth in fourteen years. Measurements from OPTs (2003–6x7mm, 2008–8x12mm, 2014–17 × 24mm, 2016–19 × 25mm and 2017–21 × 28mm) and 3d cone-beam computed tomography scan (2016–19 × 15 × 21mm, 2017–21,4 × 19,2 × 22,7) were obtained. The growth of the lesion measured on OPTs was in mean 1.1 × 1.5 mm per year. This is the first case report in literature quantitatively assessing the growth of a solitary osteoma of the mandible through radiographic imaging, which seems to be more than 1 mm per dimension per year
