    The Use of Fractional Manipulative Media to Increase The Conceptual Understanding of Elementary School Students

    Learning mathematics at the elementary school level is very important in planting basic concepts about the concepts being taught. One effective way of learning mathematics in planting these concepts is by using manipulative media. Based on the results of observations of researchers in class II C of Muhammadiyah Elementary School, Nitikan, Yogyakarta obtained: 1) mathematics learning rarely uses the media, 2) the subject of fractions is difficult material with marked results of the pretest only 53.1% who reach minimum completeness criterion. This study aims to describe learning using manipulative media to improve understanding of the subject matter of fractions. This study uses a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design. The subjects of this study are class II C of Muhammadiyah Elementary School, Nitikan, amounting to 32 students. Data collection techniques used are observation and test. Data analysis in this classroom action research is quantitative and qualitative data analysis. The results showed the ability to understand the concept of mathematics in the first cycle is 62,5 % with good criteria and the second cycle is 78.1 %  with good criteria. The results of observations of the feasibility of using manipulative media in learning mathematics on the subject matter of fractions seen based on the activities of teachers and students during the learning process. Based on research that has been done, it can be concluded that the ability to understand mathematical concepts and student learning activities in class II C of SD Muhammadiyah Nitikan increases after the application of learning using manipulative media

    PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF BERBASIS HOTS TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR MATEMATIS

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk : (1) mengetahui apakah model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw dan STAD berbasis HOTS berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis, (2) membandingkan pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw dan STAD berbasis HOTS terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksperimen semu dengan pretest posttest non-equivalent group design. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMK Boedi Oetomo 3 Maos pada bulan April 2019 semester II pada tahun akademik 2018/2019. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas XI Teknik Kendaraan Ringan (TKR) di SMK Boedi Oetomo 3 Maos yang terdiri dari empat kelas. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik random sampling sehingga dipilih dua kelas, kelas XI TKR 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen I dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw berbasis HOTS dan kelas XI TKR 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen II dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD berbasis HOTS. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis. Uji hipotesis pada penelitian ini menggunakan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw dan STAD berbasis HOTS berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis, (2) terdapat perbedaan pengaruh antara pembelajaran kooperatif model tipe Jigsaw dan STAD berbasis HOTS terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis, dan 3) model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw berbasis HOTS lebih berpengaruh daripada tipe STAD berbasis HOTS terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) Mendeskripsikan keefektifan model kooperatif tipe STAD dan TGT dengan pendekatan kontekstual dalam pembelajaran matematika, 2) Membandingkan keefektifan antara model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dan tipe TGT dengan pendekatan kontekstual dengan pembelajaran konvensional, dan 3) Membandingkan keefektifan antara model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dan TGT dengan pendekatan kontekstual dalam pembelajaran matematika, ditinjau dari kemampuan kognitif, dan sosial siswa.Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksperimen semu dengan rancangan pretest-posttest non-equivalent group design. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua kelas eksperimen dan satu kelas kontrol. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan meliputi tes kemampuan kognitif matematika, dan angket kemampuan sosial siswa.     This study aims to describe the learning strategies in learning approaches and learning methods and the impact of using these learning strategies for dyscalculia students in class XI of State Special Need School (SLBN) Tamanwinagun Kebumen in the 2018/2019 academic year. The subject of this study was a student of class XI Sate Special School (SLBN) Tamanwinagun Kebumen in the 2018/2019 academic year with the source of research data, namely a classroom teacher. This research's object is the mathematics learning strategy for students having difficulty learning mathematics (dyscalculia). Data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. The data analysis used an interactive model from Miles and Huberman, which describes conditions or phenomena as they are. The research conducted by researchers used a qualitative approach with a study design at SLBN Tamanwinangun Kebumen. The results showed that the teacher's learning strategies for dyscalculia consisted of learning approaches and methods. The learning approach includes a contextual approach, and an individual approach with an approach suitable for students is a contextual approach. The learning methods used include the lecture method, the question and answer method, the assignment method, and the visual method. The appropriate learning method for students is the visual method. The application of learning strategies in the form of approaches and methods used by the teacher in overcoming student dyscalculia impacts learning mathematics. This impact can be seen from the cognitive aspects of the students with dyscalculia, including memory, understanding, application, analysis, evaluation

    THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN LEARNING INTEREST AND LEARNING INDEPENDENCE TOWARD MATHEMATICS LEARNING OUTCOMES

    Student learning outcomes are influenced by several factors, both internal and external factors. Interest in learning and learning independence are several factors that may be related to learning outcomes. This study aims to determine whether there is a positive and significant relationship between learning interest and learning independence with class X students' learning outcomes in the even semester of Vocational High School (SMK) Muhammadiyah in the academic year 2018/2019. This research aims to determine whether there is a positive and significant relationship between learning interest and learning independence with mathematics learning outcomes of class X students of SMK Muhammadiyah Mlati Even Semester of the 2018/2019 school year. This study's population was class X SMK Muhammadiyah Mlati 2018/2019 school year, consisting of 3 classes. Samples were taken in class X Pharmacy with random sampling techniques to the class. Data collection techniques are done using a questionnaire method to obtain data on learning interest and learning independence and documentation methods to obtain learning outcome data. Research instrument test: reliability test. Analysis prerequisite test: normality test, linearity test, and independence test. Data analysis uses product moment analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed no positive and significant relationship between learning interest and learning independence with the learning outcomes of class X Even Semester Students of SMK Muhammadiyah Mlati Academic Year 2018/2019. This is indicated by Fcount = -73.25 and Ftable = 3.80 Fcount <Ftable with R = 0.25966 . Large RC  = 92.72%,RC = 7.27%, EC = 6.25%, and EC = 0.490%

    Android-based Teaching Material for Statistics Integrated with Social Media WhatsApp

    The purpose of this study was to develop teaching material in the form of Android-based application for junior high school mathematics subjects in statistical material that are integrated with WhatsApp social media platform. The procedure for developing teaching materials was carried out through the stages of defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. The platform used to develop teaching material was MIT App Inventor. The teaching materials developed have been validated by two media experts and material experts. The trial of teaching material was carried out to educators and prospective mathematics educators in the Special Region of Yogyakarta and students at Depok 3 State Junior High School. This study has succeeded in developing Android-based teaching materials for junior high school mathematics subjects in valid and effective statistical material. The menus contained in this application consist of material and competency test. On the competency test menu, students can do the test and after completion, the application will display the score of the test results. What interesting about this application, the test results can be sent to the teacher via WhatsApp

    Salah satu tema KKN Alternatif di Kampung Kauman, Kecamatan Gondomanan, Kota Yogyakarta adalah Program Kesehatan Lingkungan dalam masyarakat. Hal ini terlihat masih terdapat masyarakat yang belum sadar akan pentingnya menjaga kebersihan di lingkungan sekitar rumah warga. Maka Kuliah Kerja Nyata Alternatif LXI Divisi I.D menggelar program kesehatan lingkungan bagi  warga Kampung Kauman. Metode pelaksanaan program KKN meliputi pendidikan masyarakat dan praktek. Bentuk kegiatannya yaitu penyuluhan PHBS (Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat) dan penyuluhan kesehatan masyarakat serta olahraga senam rutin. Program ini bertujuan untuk memberdayakan masyarakat Kampung Kauman dalam program kesehatan masyarakat dan lingkungan. Dampak dari kegiatan ini adalah: 1) masyarakat dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan pentingnya tentang perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat, 2) masyarakat dapat menciptakan kesadaran untuk dapat menjaga dan menerapkan perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat, 3) ibu-ibu lansia dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang cara menjaga alat reproduksi wanita

    Kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi (HOTS) memiliki peranan penting bagi siswa terutama di abad 21. HOTS dipandang sebagai kemampuan dasar yang wajib dikembangkan terutama pada pembelajaran matematika. Oleh karena itu penting bagi calon guru pendidikan matematika untuk mengembangkan kemampuan HOTS. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan HOTS mahasiswa pendidikan matematika Universitas Ahmad Dahlan dalam mengerjakan soal HOTS pada mata kuliah geometri. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Ada sebanyak 3 orang mahasiswa yang telah mengambil mata kuliah geometri ruang dengan kemampuan matematika yang berbeda-beda. Instrument yang digunakan yaitu kuesioner berupa 5 soal geometry ruang berbasis HOTS. Hasil yang diperoleh yaitu bahwa mahasiswa mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami soal dan menentukan strategi yang akan digunakan. This research was a quasi experiment research with nonequivalent (pretest and posttest) group design. The instruments of the research were using a questionnaire and test. The results of the research showed that (1) the cooperative learning model of NHT type using the contextual approach was affect to improve the participation and mathematics learning achievement of the eight grade students of MTs Mu’allimin Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, (2) the cooperative learning model of TAI type using the contextual approach was affect to improve the participation and but it did not affect to improve the mathematics learning achievement of the eight grade students of MTs Mu’allimin Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, and (3) there is no difference between the effect of cooperative learning model of NHT and TAI types using the contextual approach to improve the participation and mathematics learning achievement of the eight grade students of MTs Mu’allimin Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta.
