Application of initial data sequences to the study of Black Hole dynamical trapping horizons

Non-continuous "jumps" of Apparent Horizons occur generically in 3+1 (binary) black hole evolutions. The dynamical trapping horizon framework suggests a spacetime picture in which these "Apparent Horizon jumps" are understood as spatial cuts of a single spacetime hypersurface foliated by (compact) marginally outer trapped surfaces. We present here some work in progress which makes use of uni-parametric sequences of (axisymmetric) binary black hole initial data for exploring the plausibility of this spacetime picture. Determinación de los tiempos estándar de producción y diseño de un sistema de costeo de productos : análisis de capacidad de la línea de producción principal en Remodularsa Madeval Fábrica

The thesis project is a guide to establish a design of a costing system for Madeval's company products. This company manufactures modular furniture for closet, kitchen and restroom. In order to establish an adequate costing system, we found the need to accomplish an uprising of processes. With this we were able to record the operations of every one of the production's processes. The processes’ flowcharts, of the main production line, were used as a base to perform an analysis of standard times of these processes. For the development of the aforementioned analysis, we recorded time data of each one of the operations of the principal processes.El proyecto de tesis presente se orienta a establecer un diseño de un sistema de costeo de los productos de la empresa Madeval, la cual se dedica a la fabricación de muebles modulares de closet, cocina y baño. Para determinar el diseño del sistema de costeo adecuado, se encontró la necesidad de realizar un levantamiento de procesos el cual lleve registro de las operaciones de cada uno de los procesos de producción. Los flujogramas de procesos de la línea principal de producción se utilizaron como base para poder proseguir a un análisis de tiempos estándar de cada uno de estos procesos. Para el desarrollo de dicho análisis, se tomaron datos de tiempos de cada una de las operaciones predeterminadas de los procesos principales, y se analizaron los datos mediante métodos estadísticos que permitan establecer las ecuaciones de tiempos estándar de cada proceso

Evaluating the Robustness of Deep Learning Models against Adversarial Attacks: An Analysis with FGSM, PGD and CW

This study evaluated the generation of adversarial examples and the subsequent robustness of an image classification model. The attacks were performed using the Fast Gradient Sign method, the Projected Gradient Descent method, and the Carlini and Wagner attack to perturb the original images and analyze their impact on the model’s classification accuracy. Additionally, image manipulation techniques were investigated as defensive measures against adversarial attacks. The results highlighted the model’s vulnerability to conflicting examples: the Fast Gradient Signed Method effectively altered the original classifications, while the Carlini and Wagner method proved less effective. Promising approaches such as noise reduction, image compression, and Gaussian blurring were presented as effective countermeasures. These findings underscore the importance of addressing the vulnerability of machine learning models and the need to develop robust defenses against adversarial examples. This article emphasizes the urgency of addressing the threat posed by harmful standards in machine learning models, highlighting the relevance of implementing effective countermeasures and image manipulation techniques to mitigate the effects of adversarial attacks. These efforts are crucial to safeguarding model integrity and trust in an environment marked by constantly evolving hostile threats. An average 25% decrease in accuracy was observed for the VGG16 model when exposed to the Fast Gradient Signed Method and Projected Gradient Descent attacks, and an even more significant 35% decrease with the Carlini and Wagner method

Inclusive Education: Mobile Serious Games for People with Cognitive Disabilities

Nowadays, the use of mobile devices is increasingly frequent. In many occasions they are used as a means of entertainment for people through video games. Serious games is a category of video games used as teaching methods in different environments. They use fun as a strategy for the learning process. However, the vast majority do not focus on vulnerable groups such as people with cognitive disabilities, because they do not consider accessibility parameters in their design. Some video games development companies have proposed general guidelines for the implementation of accessible video games, but they have not been formalized as good practices or standards. This article presents a compilation and analysis of different accessibility guidelines for the development of mobile serious games for people with cognitive disabilities. It also proposes a model to evaluate the access of serious games for people with cognitive disabilities and applies it in a case study. Finally, an evaluation tool is proposed for mobile serious games developers focused on people with cognitive disabilities

Caracterización zoométrica de la raza Charoláis en el Cantón Morona

En la Asociación Charoláis de la Provincia de Morona Santiago se llevó a cabo la investigación de Caracterización zoometríca de la raza Charoláis. Se evaluaron a 156 animales bovinos Charoláis inscritos en la Asociación, a los que se tomaron catorce (14) medidas morfológicas para los machos y trece (13) para las hembras, y seis (6) índices zoométricos. Utilizando el análisis estadístico descriptivo y de pruebas de regresión y correlación. Al relacionar las medidas morfológicas con el peso se determinó que la altura a la cruz (ACR) fue la que mayor grado de homogeneidad se obtuvo el 96,68% para los machos mayores a los 3 años de edad, y del 74% para los machos de 24 a 30 meses de edad, mientras que para los terneros machos de 12 a 18 meses de edad fue del 94% de coeficiente de determinación. Para el grupo de hembras mayores a los 30 meses de edad fue del 92% y del 99% para las hembras de 18 a 30 meses de edad. Se concluye que las características morfológicas del bovino Charoláis criado en el Cantón Morona presentan una gran similitud con referencia al estándar internacional de la raza Tomando en cuenta los resultados se recomienda realizar una evaluación productiva como reproductiva de la raza en la zona.At Charolais Association in Morona Santiago Province, the zoometric Characterization research of Charolais breed was carried out. 156 Charolais cattle registered in the Association were evaluated. Fourteen (14) morphological measures for male cattle and thirteen (13) for female cattle and six (6) zoometric index were taken by using a statistical – descriptive analysis and correlation and retrospective tests. Where relating the morphological measures with the weight, it was determined that the standing height (SH) was the most homogenous. 96,68% for male cattle older than 3 years old, 74% for male cattle aged from 24 to 30 months, and 94% of determining coefficient for calves aged from 12 to 18 months. 92% for the heifers older than 30 months old and 99% for heifers aged from 19 to 30 months. It is concluded that the morphological characteristics of Charolais cattle bred in Morona Canton are quite similar to international breed standard. From the results, it is recommended to evaluate both breed production and reproduction in the area
