« Ici nous troquons ton désespoir pour de l’espérance … » : approche ethnographique du troc urbain dans une société en crise

Cet article est consacré à la présentation d’un réseau de troc urbain qui s’est déployé à l’initiative de la classe moyenne argentine, suite à la crise générale qui a traversé le pays en 2001. Une première partie est consacrée à la description du contexte social dans lequel le réseau a pris son essor. Nous rendons ensuite compte de son évolution à partir du projet utopique des pères fondateurs. Enfin, deux descriptions ethnographiques permettent au lecteur d’imaginer en quoi consiste concrètement ce système économique informel à travers lequel ont été introduits des bons d’échange reconnus à l’échelle nationale.This article is devoted to a description of the network of urban exchange which has spread through the initiative of the Argentinian middle-class, following a general crisis that crossed the country in 2001. The first part is dedicated to the description of a social context in which the network has expanded rapidly. I then account for its evolution from the utopic project of its founding fathers. Finally two ethnographical descriptions allow the reader to imagine what concretely makes up this informal economic system through which exchange bonds have been introduced and are now recognised at a national level

Yapa. Ajándékok, cserék és összejátszás a Déli Andokban

A yapa egy olyan andokbeli jelenség, amely során a kereskedők egy kevés ráadást adnak a csere végén. A néprajzi leírás alapján azt javaslom, hogy ezt a gazdasági intézményt tekintsük az ajándék egyik formájának. Ennek fényében arra törekszem, hogy kibontsam e nagylelkűség performatív működését, amely célja szerint egy speciális, a felek gazdasági moralitása által is formált interakciós keretet mozgósít. A tranzakciók, amelyek ebből származnak, maguk is az egyének közti társadalmi kapcsolatok megvalósulásai [enactment], és, hogy az ajándéknak és a cserének ez a sajátos összefonódása a konkrét gazdasági interakciókban egy magától értetődő kulturális egységhez való tartozást is létrehoz, amely túlmutat a felek által szavakban kifejezett különféle (etnikai, gazdasági és nemzeti) identitás-kategóriákon

Materializing virtues : Crafted miniatures as moral examples in the Argentinean Andes

In the Argentinean Andes, people craft miniatures in order to please Saint Anne. Most literature on Andean miniatures focuses on their exchange and use. This paper addresses their production process in an attempt to show that the value of miniatures is entangled in practices. Ethnographic description shows that miniatures should please the saint because they are said to be much more complicated to craft than their normally scaled homologues, and thus their production requires more diligence and faith. In this light, it is argued that miniatures are more than a physical reproduction of a larger-scaled model; they are examples in the sense that they completely incarnate key moral values. Yet, their coexistence with industrially manufactured items accounts for the exercise of individual choice in the realization of ritual scaling practices. In the context of an ongoing ethical turn in anthropology, this paper explores the articulation of collective morality and freedom as it relates to ritual scaling practices. In so doing it also highlights the entangled transmission process of technical skills, religiosity, and morality.</p
