Anxiety disorders are defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) as the sixth most common non-lethal disease that contributes to a decline in global health. In emerging adulthood, which is the developmental stage of individuals aged 18-25, anxiety is the most common disorder. This study aims to determine the relationship between materialism and anxiety mediated by self-esteem in emerging adulthood in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Data were collected through the quota sampling technique and involved 332 emerging adults aged 18-25, consisting of 69 men and 263 women. Measurements were made using the Materialistic Value Scale of Richins and Dawson, the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, and the Beck Anxiety Inventory. The scales were distributed through an online questionnaire. Hypothesis testing was conducted using mediation regression analysis with the causal step method. The results show that all the regression paths were significant, indicating that self-esteem partially mediated the relationship between materialism and anxiety (B = 0.055, p .01). The findings provide an overview of the dynamics of early adult individual anxiety related to materialism and self-esteem

World Health Organization (WHO) announced that anxiety disorders are ranked as the sixth-largest contributor to non-fatal health loss globally, and these disorders are most prevalent during a human’s emerging adulthood period. Emerging adulthood is an individual’s life stage that roughly lasts from ages 18 to 25. This study aims to find out the mediating effect of self-esteem on the relationship between materialism and anxiety of emerging adults living in Yogyakarta. For data collection, we used a quota sampling technique which involved 332 emerging adults aged 18 to 25 years. Participants were measured with Richins and Dawson’s Materialistic Value Scale, Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale, and Beck Anxiety Inventory. These scales were distributed to the research participants via online questionnaires. A causal step approach was used in mediation regression analysis to test the hypothesis. Research results showed that the hypothesis was accepted: self-esteem partially mediated materialism and anxiety, although the mediation was minimal

The educational system, teaching methods, types of assignments, and the learning environment pose distinct challenges, requiring students to possess study skills appropriate to the learning context. There is a growing body of literature that recognizes the positive influence of study skills on students' academic performance. However, research focusing on the effectiveness of study skills programs is still limited. This study analyzes the effects of study skills training on increasing student academic performance. A quasi-experiment was employed using a one-group pretest and posttest design with 59 psychology students. Data for this study were collected using student GPAs before and after the intervention. The study shows that study skills training is effective in increasing student academic performance. Higher education institutions can apply study skills training for students to optimize their academic performances. Further research is needed

This research aims to find out there is whether or not a corelation between cohesivity with intention of aggression behavior on football supporters. Early allegations put forward in the present study is there is a positive corelation between cohesiveness with Intention of aggression behaviour. The subjects in this research is 50 student Supporters of football Slemania, everything is made up of men. The scale is a scale used Intention of aggression behaviour laid out based on intention behavior researchers according to the aspect Fishbein dan Ajzen (1975) \the General behavior of aggression according to classification Buss & Perry (Nashori & Diana, 2007),  as for measuring cohesiveness using aspects of forsyth (1999).Methods of data analysis conducted in the present study uses statistical analysis using correlation spearmant correlation coefficients of r = 0,265 show with p = 0, 014  (p<0,05). Correlation analysis can be taken to mean that there is a very significant positive relationship between cohesiveness with Intention of aggression behaviour on football supporters. That means the higher the level of cohesiveness owned by supporters then it will be the higher Intention of aggression behaviour. Conversely, the lower the level of cohesiveness that it will be the lower clubs too Intention of aggression behaviour

Body Appreciation Around the World: Measurement Invariance of the Body Appreciation Scale-2 (BAS-2) Across 65 Nations, 40 Languages, Gender Identities, and Age

The Body Appreciation Scale-2 (BAS-2) is a widely used measure of a core facet of the positive body image construct. However, extant research concerning measurement invariance of the BAS-2 across a large number of nations remains limited. Here, we utilised the Body Image in Nature (BINS) dataset – with data collected between 2020 and 2022 – to assess measurement invariance of the BAS-2 across 65 nations, 40 languages, gender identities, and age groups. Multi-group confirmatory factor analysis indicated that full scalar invariance was upheld across all nations, languages, gender identities, and age groups, suggesting that the unidimensional BAS-2 model has widespread applicability. There were large differences across nations and languages in latent body appreciation, while differences across gender identities and age groups were negligible-to-small. Additionally, greater body appreciation was significantly associated with higher life satisfaction, being single (versus being married or in a committed relationship), and greater rurality (versus urbanicity). Across a subset of nations where nation-level data were available, greater body appreciation was also significantly associated with greater cultural distance from the United States and greater relative income inequality. These findings suggest that the BAS-2 likely captures a near-universal conceptualisation of the body appreciation construct, which should facilitate further cross-cultural research

Re-entry Adjustment and Job Embeddedness: The Mediating Role of Professional Identity in Indonesian Returnees

The present study examined the relationship between difficulty in re-entry adjustment and job embeddedness, considering the mediating role of sense of professional identity. The online data on demographic characteristics, difficulty on re-entry adjustment, sense of professional identity, and job embeddedness were collected from 178 Indonesian returnees from multiple organizations. The results showed that difficulty in re-entry adjustment was a significant predictor of a sense of professional identity; a sense of professional identity was a significant predictor of job embeddedness. Furthermore, sense of professional identity is an effective mediating variable, bridging the relationship between post-return conditions to the home country and work atmosphere. Finally, the key finding of this study was that sense of professional identity mediated the effect of difficulty in re-entry adjustment on job embeddedness. The theoretical and practical implications, study limitations, and future research needs of our findings are noted
