Bromélias do Paraná : cultivo, extrativismo e comercialização

Defesa: Curitiba, 19/10/2011Inclui bibliografiaÁrea de concentração: Produção vegetalResumo: Apresentam-se resultados de pesquisa sobre as bromélias no Paraná, um grupo de espécies de plantas ornamentais nativas no Estado e que apresentam relevante valor comercial. Realizou-se inicialmente um diagnóstico do sistema de produção de bromélias, evidenciando as particularidades e discrepâncias em relação aos modelos de produção descritos na literatura. Procedeu-se estudo de viabilidade econômica de implantação de novos cultivos. Foi também quantificado o sistema sócio econômico do extrativismo de bromélias bem como suas implicações ambientais. Promoveu-se um levantamento sobre as formas de comercialização e a inter-relação entre produtores, varejistas e atacadistas, e finalmente identificou-se qual é o perfil e o comportamento dos consumidores de bromélias no Paraná. Os resultados são apresentados sequencialmente em cinco capítulos que compõem a tese, e espera-se que ao final deste estudo que o contingente de informações geradas possa contribuir para o delineamento de estratégias sustentáveis para a ampliação da comercialização das bromélias produzidas no Paraná.Abstract: This study presents the results of a research about bromeliads, a group of ornamental plants species in Paraná and which has significant commercial value. Initially it was carried out a diagnosis of the bromeliads production system, highlighting the particularities and differences in relation to the modes of production described in the literature. Economic viability study was proceeded from implantation of new bromeliads production. It was also quantified the social and economic system of bromeliads extraction as well as its environmental implications. A survey was promoted about the commercialization ways and the interrelation among producers, retailers and wholesalers, and finally it was identified the profile and the behavior of the bromeliads consumers in Paraná. The results are showed sequentially in five chapters that compose the thesis, and it is expected that by the end of this study the number of generated information may contribute to the delineation of sustainable strategies for increasing the commercialization of the bromeliads produced in Paraná

Flowers supply chain in Paraná Coast - Brazil: an application of Miles and Snow taxonomy

Paraná Coast had already been a great producer and commercial center of flowers, however in the last decade the supply chain had reduced its cultivation area and marketing. In order to support a better understanding of the strategic management current situation of the flowers production chain in several Brazilian regions based on the similarity found in Paraná Coast, it is presented the results of a research that sought to identify the processes of production, distribution and trade in the flowers supply chain in Paraná Coast, and provide a strategic classification using the Miles and Snow model. It was conducted a descriptive exploratory survey between May 2014 to April 2015, with face interviews to nine farmers, five wholesalers and fifteen retailers. The producers had a defensive strategic posture, the wholesalers showed an analytical strategic posture and the retailers had a reactive strategic posture, and they were the strongest segment of the supply chain due to the organizational skills. In these three levels predominated the commercial rivalry among the segments. It was concluded that the flowers supply chain in Paraná Coast, urgently needs a governance model among the segments that allows performing cooperative practices and harmonic business combination to generate greater competitiveness for the sector
