New land valuation criteria after the Spanish 2011 Valuation of Land Regulation : the objectivation of building expectations in rural land

    Get PDF
The land valuation regime has undergone one of its most important modifications at the hands of the 2008 Land Act and its 2011 Regulation. According to the so-called objectivity principle - which defines all established methods for the new basic situations of land - and according to the stated prohibition of taking into consideration building expectations arising from granted planning permission, the fact is that the existence of circumstances that are not a natural consequence of landowner investments made on the property is easily deducible. This is inconsistent with the spirit of the Land Act in force contained in its Explanatory Memorandum

In the last few years, persistent phosphors with a garnet crystal structure have attracted a great deal of interest for a plethora of applications ranging from bioimaging to anti-counterfeiting technologies. However, the development of synthesis methods to fabricate uniform garnet-based micro and nanoparticles, that are needed for such applications, is not mature at all. This study reports the synthesis of highly uniform yttrium aluminum gallium garnet nanospheres. The method is based on homogeneous precipitation in a polyol medium followed by silica coating and calcination. The nanoparticles resulting after silica removal were also uniform and were easily functionalized with polyacrylic acid. The colloidal stability of the latter in physiological media and their biocompatibility were analyzed. The luminescence of the particles, doped with Ce3+, Cr3+, and Nd3+, was studied by recording emission and excitation spectra and persistent luminescence decay curves. Due to their uniform morphology, high colloidal stability, absence of toxicity, and persistent emission in the visible and near-infrared regions, the reported nanospheres show great potential as persistent luminescent bioimaging probes. In addition, the synthesis method paves the way for future use of this persistent material in other applications that require the phosphor to be in the form of highly uniform nanoparticles

Targeting TDP-43 phosphorylation by Casein Kinase-1δ inhibitors: a novel strategy for the treatment of frontotemporal dementia

[Background] Mutations in the progranulin gene (GRN) are the most common cause of frontotemporal lobar degeneration with TDP-43 inclusions (FTLD-TDP). TDP-43 pathology is characterized by the hyperphosphorylation of the protein at Serine 409/410 residues. Casein kinase-1δ (CK-1δ) was reported to phosphorylate TDP-43 directly. Previous works from our laboratory described the presence of CDK6/pRb-dependent cell cycle alterations, and cytosolic accumulation of TDP-43 protein in lymphoblast from FTLD-TDP patients carriers of a loss-of function mutation in GRN gene (c.709-1G > A). In this work, we have investigated the effects of two brain penetrant CK-1δ inhibitors (IGS-2.7 and IGS-3.27) designed and synthetized in our laboratory on cell proliferation, TDP-43 phosphorylation and subcellular localization, as well as their effects on the known nuclear TDP-43 function repressing the expression of CDK6.[Results] We report here that both CK-1δ inhibitors (IGS-2.7 and IGS-3.27) normalized the proliferative activity of PGRN-deficient lymphoblasts by preventing the phosphorylation of TDP-43 fragments, its nucleo-cytosol translocation and the overactivation of the CDK6/pRb cascade. Moreover, ours results show neuroprotective effects of CK-1δ inhibitors in a neuronal cell model of induced TDP-43 phosphorylation.[Conclusions] Our results suggest that modulating CK-1δ activity could be considered a novel therapeutic approach for the treatment of FTLD-TDP and other TDP-43 proteinopathies. This work has been supported by grants from The Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (projects SAF2012-37979-C03-01 to Ana Martinez and SAF2011-28603 to Angeles Martín-Requero). Moreover, Dr. Angeles Martín-Requero was supported by Ramón Areces foundation and Dr. López de Munain received research support from Ilundain Foundation.Peer reviewe

The Leaving Footprints program, which is led by the Colombian Tennis Federation in the city of Bogota, seeks through the practice of sports tennis field, that children between the ages of 3 and 17, who are unable to finance tennis courses, have the opportunity to practice this sport. The aim of this project is to build a guideline that shows that the practice of sports becomes a protective factor for children who participate in the Leaving Footprints program between the ages of 6 and 12. Now, the need arises to carry out this project, to know the perspective of the beneficiaries in this case parents and children, on what the program provides in the social, family and sports; in turn, know that other similar programs exist at the local and national level, which allows us to ratify that the practice of sports is considered a protective factor. The following study will be approached from existing theories, which are embodied in the state of the art and are related to protective factors, risk factors and the importance of a sport practice in minors from 6 to 12 years old; at the same time an instrument (survey) is applied in order to show, through the analysis of variables, guidelines that show sport as a protective factor, ending with a mapping of possible allies that will allow the strengthening and growth of the program Leaving footprints using the UCINET 6.8 program and the traffic light of alliances. After the different objectives had been developed, the first one identified three guidelines in the sports, administrative and community benefit areas, which allowed us to organize a mission, vision and general and specific objective for the Leaving Footprints program, in order to start with the creation of your personal brand and start working on a strategic planning; We identified that the program teaches discipline, creates sports habits and the population is satisfied with what it offers and for the third objective we identified the possible networks and alliances that will benefit the program, in favor of the growth of the coverage and that the beneficiaries take advantage of it to carry out different cultural and educational activities in these public and private entities
