Arriving at the scene, the officers found a husband and wife arguing, but no one was physically hurt. Stephen, the husband, was intoxicated. His wife, Linda, said that he had been out of work for six months, and they were having financial problems. Recently he’d also been depressed and lethargic, and kept saying things like “I’m tired of all this and just want to end it all. ” Joe asked Stephen if he was thinking of killing himself. Stephen admitted that he had considered taking his life. Joe said that Stephen needed to go to the hospital so that he could be evaluated and get help to deal with his problems. After some hesitation and reluctance, Stephen finally agreed to go. At the hospital, Joe told the emergency department physician that Stephen had become depressed after being unemployed for six months and he had been drinking and had admitted that he considered taking his life.     Selenium status in beef and dairy cattle at Taman Pertanian Universiti, Universiti Putra Malaysia

    Selenium (Se) nutrition forms an integral part of growth and immune function of man and animals. Deficiency of Se in cattle will inevitably lead to poor growth and mastitis causing an economic loss to a farm. This study was carried out to determine the level of Se in beef cattle and dairy cattle reared at the Taman Pertanian Universiti, Universiti Putra Malaysia. A total of 27 dairy and 36 beef cattle were randomly chosen in this study. The age of the cattle used ranged from 1 to 9 years old comprising of both sexes. Blood sample was collected into heparinized and plain tubes for the detection of glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) activity and aspartate aminotransferase (AST), creatine kinase (CK) and malonylaldehyde (MDA) concentrations, respectively. The activity of GSH-Px was detected using the dithio-bi-nitrobenzoic acid (DTNB) direct method assay. The concentrations of AST and CK were determined using standard diagnostic kits, while the MDA using the TBA (thio-barbituric acid) test. It was found that although no significant differences existed in the GSH-Px activity between breeds, their Se status were in the deficient state. This is in line with previous reports that the acidic soil of Malaysia renders low Se uptake by plants leading to deficiency state in grazing ruminants. The concentrations of AST and CK were higher in beef cattle due to much more overt muscular damage as the result of foraging and lack of supplementation compared to dairy cattle. It is suggested that diet of both breeds should be supplemented with Se to prevent such deficient status in order to increase the productivity of the farm

    The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of organizational political perceptions on job satisfaction moderated by political skills. This research is important because it is able to examine the significance of the relationship between organizational political perceptions and political skills on job satisfaction. This research uses survey research methods through questionnaires. The object of research is all hospital employees in the city of Surakarta with a sample of 159 respondents. Sampling in this study using the probability sampling method. The analytical tool used in this study is simple linear regression while the moderating analysis tool uses regression analysis tools. The results showed H1 had a significant relationship while H2 did not have a significant relationship. These results give the sense that organizational political perceptions affect job satisfaction. While political skills as a moderator between organizational political perceptions do not affect job satisfaction

    PENGARUH SELF-COMPASSION TERHADAP KESEPIAN PADA EMERGING ADULT PENGGUNA APLIKASI KENCAN DARING

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh self compassion terhadap kesepian pada emerging adult pengguna aplikasi kencan daring. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menyebar kuesioner. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah UCLA Loneliness Scale Version 3 dan Skala Welas Diri. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah 296 pengguna aplikasi kencan daring berusia 18 – 29 tahun. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik convenience sampling. Analisis statistik yang digunakan untuk menguji hipotesis adalah analisis regresi sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai p sebesar 0,000 dan R square sebesar 0,603 yang berarti bahwa terdapat pengaruh negatif self-compassion terhadap kesepian sebesar 60,3 % pada emerging adult pengguna aplikasi kencan daring. Penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa self-compassion merupakan faktor penting dalam mengurangi perasaan kesepian, karena melalui kebaikan hati, perhatian dan penerimaan kepada diri sendiri dapat mendorong individu untuk terlepas dari perasaan kesepian. ***** This study aims to determine the effect of self-compassion on loneliness of emerging adult who uses online dating app. This research used a quantitative method. The data collection technique was conducted by distributing online questionnaire form. Measuring instruments used in this research are UCLA Loneliness Scale Version 3 and Skala Welas Diri (Self-compassion Scale). The total sample in this research is 296 online dating app users aged 18 - 29 years old. The research sample was obtained by convenience sampling technique. Statistical analysis used to test the hypothesis is simple regression analysis. The results showed a p value of 0.000 and an R square of 0.603, which means that there is a negative effect of self-compassion on loneliness of 60.3% in emerging adults using online dating applications in Greater Jakarta. This study proves that self-compassion is an important factors in reducing the feeling of loneliness, because through self-kindness, mindfulness, and acceptance individuals can encourage themselves to get rid of the feeling of loneliness

    NIAT PERILAKU MENGGUNAKAN APLIKASI KESEHATAN GRAB HEALTH SELAMA MASA PANDEMIK COVID-19

    This research aims to examine the effect of behavioural intention using the Grab Health application during the Covid-19 pandemic. Variables that support the formation of behavioral intentions are attitudes. The formation of attitudes in use is caused by perceived enjoyment, social influence, and perceived vulnerability in using Grab Health applications. Data was obtained from questionnaires were distributed to the general public who use health applications Grab Health. The sampling technique used is non probability sampling, that is convenience sampling technique. The sample used in the study was 200 respondents who used the health applications Grab Health. Hypothesis testing is done by the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis method using the AMOS program. The results of this research indicate that attitudes have a significant effect on behavioral intentions, positive perceptions of perceived enjoyment are significant to attitudes, social influences have a significant influence on attitudes, and perceptions of vulnerability do not significantly influence attitudes in the use of health applications Grab Health

    The advance of organizational justice construct along with its dimensions has potential implications in explaining many justice phenomena, including organizational career process orientation. Diversity of individuals in organization, especially between knowledge workers and non-knowledge workers will imply in different career need as well as their perceptions of organizational justice. The purpose of this research is to give perspective in the relationship between organizational career process and organizational justice. Organizational justice is explained by using organizational perspectives both externally and internally in four types of boundaryless careers (i.e., internal psychological, internal enacted, external psychological, and external enacted), and by considering individual characteristics (i.e., knowledge worker and nonknowledge worker). Two hipotesis were offered and tested using moderated regression analysis (MRA). Organization using organizational career process focusing on externalboundaries will be judged to be procedurally fair by knowledge workers. Organization using organizational career process focusing on internal boundaries will be judged to be procedurally fair by non-knowledge workers. The advance of organizational justice construct along with its dimensions has potential implications in explaining many justice phenomena, including organizational career process orientation.     Penguatan Kepercayaan dalam Membentuk Niat Meneruskan Penggunaan Mobile Banking

    The security of using mobile banking in Indonesia is perceived as not providing a good guarantee, so it can reduce trust in continuing to use it. This study examines factors that can increase trust to influence customers' intention to continue using mobile banking. The role of user learning, the perceived value of the application, technological competence, and compatibility can strengthen trust in forming an intention to continue using. The sampling technique used was a purposive sampling technique, with 200 respondents using the BCA Mobile application, which was conducted online. Validity and reliability testing was carried out using the SPSS version 22 application. A structural approach with SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) analysis was employed to test Hypotheses. The test results show that trust in forming the intention to continue using is influenced by perceived learning, perceived value, and technological competence and is not affected by application compatibility.   Keywords : Intention to Use Continuence, Trust, and Mobile Banking   Abstrak Keamanan penggunaan mobile banking di Indonesia dipersepsikan belum memberikan jaminan baik yang dapat menurunkan kepercayaan untuk terus menggunakan. Studi ini mengkaji faktor-faktor yang dapat meningkatkan kepercayaan untuk dapat mempengaruhi nasabah untuk berniat terus menggunakan mobil banking. Peran pembelajaran pengguna, nilai persepsian dari aplikasi, kompetensi teknologi, dan kompatibilitas menjadi faktor yang dapat menguatkan kepercayaan dalam membentuk niat untuk terus menggunakan. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling dengan jumlah 200 responden pengguna aplikasi BCA Mobile yang dilakukan secara online. Pengujian validitas dan reliabilitas menggunakan aplikasi SPSS versi 22. Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan pendekatan structural dengan analisa SEM (Structural Equation Modeling). Hasil pengujian menunjukkan kepercayaan dalam membentuk niat terus menggunakan dipengaruhi adanya pembelajaran yang dipersepsikan, nilai persepsian, kompetensi teknologi, dan bukan disebabkan kompatibilitas aplikasi.   Kata kunci : Niat Meneruskan Pengunaan, Kepercayaan, dan Mobile Bankin

    Nonuniform Center Bunching and the Genericity of Ergodicity among C1C^1 Partially Hyperbolic Symplectomorphisms

    We introduce the notion of nonuniform center bunching for partially hyperbolic diffeomorphims, and extend previous results by Burns--Wilkinson and Avila--Santamaria--Viana. Combining this new technique with other constructions, we prove that C1C^1-generic partially hyperbolic symplectomorphisms are ergodic.
