With the focus on Mount Kinabalu as a sport tourism destination, the push and pull theory (Dann, 1981) was adopted as framework to examine the travel motivation of sport tourists visiting Sabah, Malaysia. The Leisure Motivation Scale (Beard & Ragheb, 1983) and semantic differential instrument by Attle (1996) were utilized to measure the push motives and pull factors. Analyses of data include descriptive statistics, t-test and logistic regression. A sample of 195 mountain climbers was selected with the majority comprising of international active sport tourists respondents (71.1%). Statistically, domestic active sport tourists at Mount Kinabalu were more significantly motivated by two out of four push motives namely; competence-mastery and social factors. With respect to the pull factors, analysis of result from the logistic regression shows there were few attributes which has been identified to be perceived differently by the domestic and international tourists. The findings of the study implied that: (1) market segmentations can be made according to the demographic and travel characteristics information as well as by their travel motivations among domestics and internationals sport tourists; (2) theoretical significance and practical marketing implications in addition with the recommendations for local tourism authority, destination managers and marketers are discussed

The skilful and qualified Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) workforces are expected to be in high demand in the 21st digital economy. In Malaysia public education system, the principal key to STEM education is Additional Mathematics. However, the statistics depicted that the number of upper secondary students enrolled in Additional Mathematics have been severely delineated. Furthermore, the prerequisite to enrol in STEM and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) courses in tertiary education is achieving a minimum grade C for Additional Mathematics. Therefore, the principal objective of this article is to identify the significant factors that affected the upper secondary students enrolled in Additional Mathematics using Pearson's chi-square test without Yates continuity correction and unadjusted odds ratio (OR). A validated questionnaire comprised nine potential factors that affected enrolment in additional mathematics was distributed to 389 Form Four students' cohort 2020 from four selected urban government schools to pursue this objective. Based on the finding of this article, several initiatives might be taken by the policymakers, such as the teachers may enhancing and throughout the broad of STEM and TVET careers in the 21st digital economy era, while the students' parents can participate in schools in building the communicating and coordinating mechanism. Consequently, the number of upper secondary enrolled in STEM education might be increased to pipeline the future STEM and TVET human capitals in sustaining and stabilising the national economy in the digital era

Rowing exercise is one of the cardiorespiratory exercises that induce higher aerobic capacity. Cardiorespiratory parameters, cardiac output (CO), stroke volume (SV), and heart rate (HR) are indicators to measure one’s cardiorespiratory fitness. The aim was to study the effects of 12-week rowing training on resting cardiac output (RCO), resting stroke volume (RSV), and resting heart rate (RHR) of stroke survivors. Ten stroke survivors (6 males; 4 females), mean age of 43.6 ± 16.15 years, were subjected to a 12-week rowing training (Concept II Rowing Ergometer, Model C, USA). An individualised programme was prescribed based on %HRR for each of stroke individual. Rowing training was conductedtwice per week (12 HIIT; 12 MR). Paired t-test and repeated measures ANOVA (RPM ANOVA) were used for statistical analyses using IBM® SPSS® Statistics 20 software. RPM ANOVA analysis showed no significant effect on RCO [F (5, 45) = 1.066, p = 0.392, RSV [F (2.188, 19.693) = 0.677, p = 0.532)], and RHR [F (5, 45) = 0.856, p = 0.518]. Paired t-test showed no significant difference between pre- and post-test despite the improved values of Mean ± Standard Deviation (RCO: 8129.50 ± 3916.31 to 8494.18 ± 6248.86 mL/min; RSV: 99.27 ± 33.98 to 121.84 ± 66.24 mL; RHR: 78.02 ± 17.39 to 77.17 ± 11.98 bpm) for all respective parameters. Twelve weeks rowing training did not improve resting cardiorespiratory parameters of stroke survivors statistically. Future studies are suggested to include gender difference and medication effect variables
