The objective of this expriment was to know the extent ofhow large oxygen consumption of L. vannamei based on its body weight. Oxygen consumption was measured from the different of seawater Dissolve Oxygen (DO) into aquarium with seawater DO out from the aquarium when the L. vannamei ready to consume it. The body weight ranged from 0,17 ??? 18,6 gram / individu. Regression power analisys by formula Y = a.Xb was used to know the correlation of body weight with oxygen consumption. The result showed that oxygen consumption reduce processes, because the activity and the metabolism of young L. nannamei was higher than their moulting processes. The correlation of body weight can be used to predict the oxygen consumption by formula Y = 1067,52. X -0,51773

    Pengaruh Pemberian Probiotik Terenkapsulasi Pada Pakan Ayam Petelur Terhadap Kolesterol telur Ayam

    This study aims to determine the effect of probiotic administration encapsulated on the cholesterol content of egg laying eggs. Probiotics are given to laying hens (phase layer), once a day for 4 weeks orally. In this study a completely randomized design (CRD) was used with three treatments, namely, probiotic encapsulated lactic acid bacteria (BAL) (E1), commercial probiotics (E2), and without probiotics (E0) with 4 replications. The variables observed in this study were encapsulated probiotic viability, egg weight (g), egg index (%), and total egg cholesterol content (mg / g). The results showed that the viability of probiotic bacteria decreased by 3.34 cfu / g after 4 weeks of storage at 4OC. Average egg weight at E0; E1; and E2 are 62.63 g, 62.67 g, and 64.15 g. Average egg index at E0; E1; and E2 are 71.13%, 75.54%, and 77.2%. The average cholesterol content at E0; E1; and E2 is 3.75 mg / g, 3.25 mg / g and 3.25 mg / g. The administration of encapsulated probiotics did not affect the quality of egg weight but it affected the egg index and total cholesterol content of egg laying eggs

    Beberapa genera bakteri seperti Alcaligenes, Pseudomonas, Azotobacter, Rhizobium, Azospirilum, dan Micrococcus dari beberapa spesies algae mampu mengakumulasi granula PHB yang diakumulasi oleh sel bakteri yang ditumbuhkan dalam medium yang mengandung konsentrasi karbon tinggi tetapi nitrogen dan fosfatnya terbatas, Salah satu upaya untuk menekan biaya produksi perlu dilakukan penelitian dari sudut pandang mikrobiologi, diantaranya ialah menemukan mikroba unggul baru penghasil PHB atau menemukan substrat yang memiliki nilai ekonomi rendah,\ud misalnya limbah pabrik gula.ABSTRACT\ud Plastic is a material widely used in everyday life but difficult to degrade in the environment that would cause environmental problems. One solution to this problem is to find a plastic material that easily degraded in the environment. Poly-??-hydroxybutyrate (PHB) is a poly-mer which is easily degraded and can be produced by microorganisms especially bacteria under conditions of excess carbon source. This study aims to obtain bacterial isolates from Arasoe sugar factory waste that potentially produce PHB. Isolation of bacteria from sewage plants conducted using SPC method. NA medium with 1% glucose addition were use to grow the isolated bacteria. Qualitative selection methods using reagents Sudan Black were use to selected the isolates. Result showed that PHB-producing bacteria isolated from sugar factory waste Arasoe with SPC method obtained that the highest number of bacterial colonies were found on the ground and the lowest of the dregs. From 43 isolates that had been purified and obtained qualitatively, 11 isolates were able to accumulate PHB

    Pertumbuhan Chlorella sp. Pada Beberapa Kombinasi Media Kultur

    Penelitian tentang pengaruh beberapa perlakuan kombinasi antara media kultur organik berupa vermikompos cair dan media kultur anorganik berupa walne terhadap pertumbuhan Chlorella sp. telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan kombinasi media kultur yang terbaik dalam merangsang peningkatan pertumbuhan populasi Chlorella sp.. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen menggunakan desain percobaan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan kombinasi perlakuan faktorial 5 x 5 x 2 (5 konsentrasi perlakuan Medium Walne, 5 konsentrasi perlakuan vermikompos, masing-masing 2 kali ulangan). Chlorella dikultur selama 10 hari. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis Univariate Analysis of Variance. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan kombinasi media kultur yang berbeda tidak berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan Chlorella sp. dan diperoleh kepadatan rata - rata populasi tertinggi, yaitu perlakuan V4W4 pada hari ke-9 dengan jumlah kepadatan populasi 19.530 x 104 sel/ml dan nilai laju pertumbuhan sebesar 1,8 /hari. Hasil uji UNIANOVA menunjukkan tidak adanya pengaruh yang nyata terhadap pertumbuhan  Chlorella sp.Kata Kunci : Vermikompos. Chlorella sp., Walne, Kultur, Kombinasi

    Hubungan Vegetasi Mangrove Terhadap Kelimpahan Makrozoobenthos di Pantai Pangkajene

    Mangrove ecosystem is a habitat of various fauna, especially macrozoobenthos. The changing vegetation of the mangrove ecosystem will influence the abundance of macrozoobenthos. This study was conducted in April-August 2019 and aims to analyze the dominance and density relations of mangrove vegetation against the abundance of Macrozoobenthos on the Pagkajene coast. The research location is conducted on three stations, each station is divided into two sampling areas, and on each sampling area is placed six sampling points. Data collection of mangrove vegetation is used with a multilevel plot method and Macrozoobenthos using a plot 50x50 cm. correlation the dominance and density of mangrove vegetation towards the abundance of macrozoobenthos used linear regression analysis. The results of the study gained that the mangrove vegetation dominancy positively affects to the abundance of macrozoobenthos but insignificant. Meanwhile, the density of mangrove vegetation significantly negatively affects to the abundance of macrozoobenthos

    Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang pengaruh pemberian vermikompos cair Lumbricus rubellus pada pertumbuhan Chlorella sp.. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui konsentrasi media kultur vermikompos yang terbaik dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan populasi Chlorella sp.. Penelitian dilaksanaan di Balai Budidaya Air Payau Takalar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen menggunakan desain percobaan Rancangan Acak Lengkap, dengan konsentrasi larutan vermikompos cair A 0%, B 0,3%, C 0,6%, D 0,9%, dan E 1,2%, masing-masing perlakuan 3 kali ulangan. Pengamatan pertumbuhan Chlorella sp. dilakukan selama 10 hari. Hasil analisis data menggunakan UNIANOVA diperoleh hasil yang tidak berbeda nyata antar perlakuan.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kepadatan tertinggi populasi Chlorella sp. terjadi pada hari kesembilan dengan kepadatan 1698,91x104sel/ml terjadi pada konsentrasi vermikompos cair 0,9%

    Studi Literatur: Obesitas sebagai Faktor Resiko terhadap Kejadian Urolitiasis secara Klinis

    The incidence of urolithiasis tends to relapse, causing increased mortality and medical costs. In 2015, there were 22.1 million cases of urolithiasis which caused death in about 16,000 people. Obesity is a risk factor that can increase the incidence of urolithiasis. However, there are differences in the results of studies regarding the relationship between obesity and urolithiasis. This literature review aims to analyze the factors that influence the relationship between obesity and urolithiasis. This literature review study uses a systematic review design. The data source used in this literature review is secondary data in scientific journals that have met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Based on data synthesis from the fifteen journals studied, twelve journals stated a relationship between obesity and the incidence of urolithiasis. In contrast, the other three stated that there was no relationship between obesity and the incidence of urolithiasis. Obesity is associated with a spectrum of metabolic disorders that lead to increased excretion of urinary lithogenic factors. In addition, obesity can increase urolithiasis in types of calcium oxalate and uric acid stones

    PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN CACING TANAH Lumbricus rubellus PADA PAKAN DALAM MENINGKATKAN KANDUNGAN OMEGA 3 PADA TELUR AYAM RAS PETELUR

    Penambahan Cacing tanah Lumbricus rubellus pada pakan dalam peningkatan kandungan omega-3 pada telur ayam Ras petelur telah dilakukan pada  bulan Mei - Juli 2015 di Desa Limampoccoe, Kecamatan Cenrana Kabupaten Maros, Sulawesi Selatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui:  (1). Hubungan bahan tambahan Cacing tanah Lumbricus rubellus pada ransum ayam petelur dalam meningkatkan kandungan omega 3 pada telur, (2). Dosis penambahan Cacing tanah Lumbricus rubellus dalam peningkatkan kandungan omega 3 pada telur. Pengambilan sampel telur dilakukan setelah pemeliharaan ayam Ras petelur jenis Rode Islan Red (RIR) selama 4 minggu      ( 1 bulan ) dan telur yang di ambil sebanyak 3 butir setiap perlakuan. Uji omega-3 menggunakan spektrofotometer UV-VIS dengan panjang gelombang (λ) 640 nm. Data yang diperoleh diolah dengan analisis deskriptif yang disajikan dalam bentuk tabel dan grafik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan cacing tanah tanah Lumbricus rubellus dalam pakan ayam ras dapat meningkatkan kandungan omega 3 pada telur dengan jumlah dosis terbaik pada konsentrasi tertinggi kandungan omega-3 yang didapatkan yaitu pada konsentrasi 10% (P2) dengan nilai 51,024 mg/l, kemudian konsentrasi 15% (P3) dengn nilai 22,695 mg/l, dan yang terendah adalah konsentrasi 5% (P1) dengan nilai 13,014 mg/l.   Kata kunci : Ayam Ras Petelur, Cacing Tanah Lumbricus rubellus, Omega -3
