Strange Hadron Spectroscopy with a Secondary KL Beam at GlueX
We propose to create a secondary beam of neutral kaons in Hall D at Jefferson
Lab to be used with the GlueX experimental setup for strange hadron
spectroscopy. A flux on the order of 3 x 10^4 KL/s will allow a broad range of
measurements to be made by improving the statistics of previous data obtained
on hydrogen targets by three orders of magnitude. Use of a deuteron target will
provide first measurements on the neutron which is {\it terra incognita}.
The experiment will measure both differential cross sections and
self-analyzed polarizations of the produced {\Lambda}, {\Sigma}, {\Xi}, and
{\Omega} hyperons using the GlueX detector at the Jefferson Lab Hall D. The
measurements will span c.m. cos{\theta} from -0.95 to 0.95 in the c.m. range
above W = 1490 MeV and up to 3500 MeV. These new GlueX data will greatly
constrain partial-wave analyses and reduce model-dependent uncertainties in the
extraction of strange resonance properties (including pole positions), and
provide a new benchmark for comparisons with QCD-inspired models and lattice
QCD calculations.
The proposed facility will also have an impact in the strange meson sector by
providing measurements of the final-state K{\pi} system from threshold up to 2
GeV invariant mass to establish and improve on the pole positions and widths of
all K*(K{\pi}) P-wave states as well as for the S-wave scalar meson

Clinical Endoscopic and Histological Characteristics of Helicobacter Pylori Positive and Negative Armenian Children with Recurrent Abdominal Pain and/or Dyspepsia
Recurrent abdominal pain (RAP) and dyspepsia are common complaints in children. These symptoms are often associated with Helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection. The aim of the present study was to prospectively analyze clinical, endoscopic, and histological characteristics of Hp+ and Hp- children with RAP and/or dyspepsia. Patients aged 2-18 years with RAP and/or dyspepsia, referred for an upper endoscopy to Arabkir Medical Center - Institute of Child and Adolescent Health (Arabkir MC-ICAH) from November 2015 to December 2017, were involved in the study. Histology was assessed according to the updated Sydney system. Gastric and duodenal specimens were stained by modified Giemsa staining for Hp infection. One antral biopsy was cultured in Hp selective media. 150 patients were included into the study: 70.7% Hp+, 29.3% Hp-. Nausea and vomiting were significantly more common in Hp+ patients (p<0.05). Gastric nodularity (p=0.02), erosions in the stomach (p=0.056), and duodenal erosions (p=0.019) were more common in Hp+. Chronic active (p=0.027) and non-active gastritis (p=0.002), cumulative findings of metaplasia/dysplasia/atrophy in the stomach (p=0.014) and chronic non-active duodenitis (p=0.016), were significantly more common in Hp+ patients. Hp infection prevalence is high in Armenian children with dyspepsia and/or RAP. Clinical symptoms, endoscopic findings, and histopathological findings were significantly different in Hp+ patients as compared to Hp- patients

Experimental Tests of QCD Scaling Laws at Large Momentum Transfer in Exclusive Light-Meson Photoproduction
We evaluated CLAS Collaboration measurements for the 90◦ meson photoproduction off the nucleon using a tagged photon beam spanning the energy interval s = 3–11 GeV2. The results are compared with the “quark counting rules” predictions
Data Analysis Techniques, Differential Cross Sections, and Spin Density Matrix Elements for the Reaction ᵞp → ϕp
High-statistics measurements of differential cross sections and spin density matrix elements for the reaction ᵞp → ϕp have been made using the CLAS detector at Jefferson Lab. We cover center-of-mass energies (√s) from 1.97 to 2.84 GeV, with an extensive coverage in the ϕ production angle. The high statistics of the data sample made it necessary to carefully account for the interplay between the ϕ natural lineshape and effects of the detector resolution, that are found to be comparable in magnitude. We study both the charged-(ϕ → K+ K-) and neutral( ϕ → (KOSKOL) K K- decay modes of the ϕ. Further, for the charged mode, we differentiate between the cases where the final K-is directly detected or its momentum reconstructed as the total missing momentum in the event. The two charged-mode topologies and the neutral-mode have different resolutions and are calibrated against each other. Extensive usage is made of kinematic fitting to improve the reconstructed ϕ mass resolution. Our final results are reported in 10- and mostly 30-MeV-wide √s bins for the charged-and the neutral-modes, respectively. Possible effects from K+Λ* channels with p K K- final states are discussed. These present results constitute the most precise and extensive ϕ photoproduction measurements to date and in conjunction with the ω photoproduction results recently published by CLAS, will greatly improve our understanding of low energy vector meson photoproduction
