In nanotechnology research, allotropes of carbon like Graphene, Fullerene (Buckyball) and Carbon nanotubes are widely used due to their remarkable properties. Electrical and mechanical properties of those allotropes vary with their molecular geometry. This paper is specially based on modeling and simulation of graphene in order to calculate energy band structure in k space with varying the C-C bond length and C-C transfer energy. Significant changes have been observed in the energy band structure of graphene due to variation in C-C bond length and C-C transfer energy. In particular, this paper focuses over the electronic structure of graphene within the frame work of tight binding approximation. It has been reported that conduction and valence states in graphene only meet at two points in k-space and that dispersion around these special points is conical. Dr. RM. Pratomo Bagan Siapiapi District Rokan Hilir Hospital located at Jl. Pahlawan, No.131 Bagan Siapi-Api sub district Bangko is an organization engaged of health care. The process of development in the hospital as an organization health care advanced rapidly. Therefore, ones of the factors that must be considered of the hospital development were the human resource. The highly pressure of work as a nurse due to working conditions which are in pressure can affect the work motivation of nurses. In addition, the external and internal factors such as burnout, workload and work conflict perceived nurses also can affect the work motivation of nurses. The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the effect of burnout, workload and work conflict toward nurses work motivation of Dr. RM. Pratomo Bagan Siapi-Api District Rokan Hilir Hospital by simultaneously and partially. The collecting data used questionnaires, amounting to 5 items for work motivation variable, 5 items for burnout variable, 4 item for workload variable and 4 items for work conflict variable which distributed into 113 nurses of Dr. RM. Pratomo Bagan Siapi-Api District Rokan Hilir Hospital and the data were analyzed by using multiple regression analysis techniques. Based on the results of data processing, it can be concluded that; 1) Burnout, workload and work conflict affected nurses work motivation simultaneously. 2) Burnout affected nurses work motivation partially. 3) Workload doesn't affected nurses work motivation partially. 4) Work conflict affected nurses work motivation partially

The role of Indonesian Police in coping with the criminal act of counterfeiting currency was repressively performed through the enforcement of criminal law which is the action of eradication and the same time crushing the crime by the law enforces in criminal justice system. Coping with the crime through repressive action began from the Police Department assigned its members as investigators. Law on currency has formulated the expansion of the investigators activities within the framework of proving such as the investigator has the right/authority to open the access or to check and make copies of the electronic data saved in the computer file, internet networking, optical media, as well as all others forms of electronic data storage. The investigators may seize the evidence from the owner and provider of electronic services. Besides the repressive action, pre emtive and preventive actions are also needed through the socialization and inter-sectoral coordination wuth the holders of authorities in the field of currency

The Effect of Expired Bread Meal as Corn Substitution in Diet on Broiler Performance

An experiment was conducted to investigate the expired bread meal used as corn substitution in thebroiler diets to optimally the product performance. One hundred day old chick (DOC) male broilerswere given the same diet until 2 weeks old, and then given the treatment diet until 7 weeks of age. ACompletely Randomized Design was used in this study. Data were analyzed by variance of analysis, andfollowed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test The treatments were : T0 = control feed (without expiredbread meal), T1 = corn substituted with 10% expired bread meal, T2 = corn substituted with 20%expired bread meal, T3 = corn substituted with 30% expired bread meal and T4 = corn substituted with40% expired bread meal. The result indicated that corn substituted with expired bread meal up to 40%has not significantly affected on carcass weight, carcass percentage and feed conversion, but decreasedsignificantly on feed consumption and body weight gain. It can be concluded that the use of expiredbread meal 30% of the proportion of corn produced the most optimal broiler performance. Thesubstitution corn with expired bread meal 40% was decreased body weight gain

Radiation reaction and the self-force for a point mass in general relativity

A point particle of mass m moving on a geodesic creates a perturbation h, of the spacetime metric g, that diverges at the particle. Simple expressions are given for the singular m/r part of h and its quadrupole distortion caused by the spacetime. Subtracting these from h leaves a remainder h^R that is C^1. The self-force on the particle from its own gravitational field corrects the worldline at O(m) to be a geodesic of g+h^R. For the case that the particle is a small non-rotating black hole, an approximate solution to the Einstein equations is given with error of O(m^2) as m approaches 0.Comment: 4 pages, RevTe

Retarded coordinates based at a world line, and the motion of a small black hole in an external universe

In the first part of this article I present a system of retarded coordinates based at an arbitrary world line of an arbitrary curved spacetime. The retarded-time coordinate labels forward light cones that are centered on the world line, the radial coordinate is an affine parameter on the null generators of these light cones, and the angular coordinates are constant on each of these generators. The spacetime metric in the retarded coordinates is displayed as an expansion in powers of the radial coordinate and expressed in terms of the world line's acceleration vector and the spacetime's Riemann tensor evaluated at the world line. The formalism is illustrated in two examples, the first involving a comoving world line of a spatially-flat cosmology, the other featuring an observer in circular motion in the Schwarzschild spacetime. The main application of the formalism is presented in the second part of the article, in which I consider the motion of a small black hole in an empty external universe. I use the retarded coordinates to construct the metric of the small black hole perturbed by the tidal field of the external universe, and the metric of the external universe perturbed by the presence of the black hole. Matching these metrics produces the MiSaTaQuWa equations of motion for the small black hole.Comment: 20 pages, revtex4, 2 figure

    An approximate binary-black-hole metric

An approximate solution to Einstein's equations representing two widely-separated non-rotating black holes in a circular orbit is constructed by matching a post-Newtonian metric to two perturbed Schwarzschild metrics. The spacetime metric is presented in a single coordinate system valid up to the apparent horizons of the black holes. This metric could be useful in numerical simulations of binary black holes. Initial data extracted from this metric have the advantages of being linked to the early inspiral phase of the binary system, and of not containing spurious gravitational waves.Comment: 20 pages, 1 figure; some changes in Sec. Reconciling social norms with personal interests: indigenous styles of identity formation among Pakistani youth

    Get PDF
Research on identity formation has been conducted mostly in Western contexts. We extend and complement such research by exploring qualitatively the strategies and styles of identity formation employed by emerging adults in Pakistan. Whereas Western theories of identity formation often provide a negative view of normative orientation as “blind obedience” without exploring alternatives, our thematic analysis of semi-structured interviews with 12 Pakistani emerging adults suggests a much more complex interplay between personal interests and normative influences on identity formation. Participants described various ways of reconciling normative expectations (parental, religious, and cultural) with their personal interests, preferences, and explorations, when deciding about their careers, relationships, and values. In Pakistani culture, normative influences seem to play a more positive and flexible role in identity formation than is suggested by previous Western research
