    Doğadan esinlenme, bütün kültürlerin temelinde yatar ve birçok sanat uygulamasının kaynağı niteliğindedir. Geçmişten günümüze üretilen teknolojik yenilikler sayesinde doğa imgesinin sanatsal ifadesinde önemli dönüşüm hareketleri yaşanmıştır. Yapay zeka teknolojileri de aynı gelişimi sürdürmeye devam etmektedir. Yapılan bu tez çalışmasında, doğa kavramının ortaya çıkışı tarihinden itibaren süreç içerisinde uğradığı değişiklikleri belirleyip güncel sanatta farklı ele alınış biçimlerini sanatçı eserlerinden örneklerle birlikte analiz etmek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda güncel sanat uygulamaları içinde özellikle doğa imgesinin yapay zeka kavramı ile ele alınış biçimleri tez çalışmasında alan yazındaki doğa ile ilgili kavramların ve tez konusu çerçevesinde yapılan çalışmaların geniş çaplı incelenmesi için literatür taraması modelinden faydalanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda doğa insan ilişkisini betimleyen imgesel kavramların bir beraberlik veya bir neden sonuç ilişkisi içinde olduğu gözlemlenmiştir. Bu da doğa ve insan etkileşiminin tek bir boyuta sahip olmadığının bir göstergesi olduğunu göstermektedir. Sanat eserlerinde imgesel anlamların birbirleri ile sıkı bir etkileşim içinde olduğu tespit edilmiş ve çağımızın sosyo kültürel özellikleri bağlamında toplumda meydana gelen çevre sorunları, yabancılaşmanın getirdiği kimlik sorunları beraberinde varoluş, aidiyet ve özgürlük sorunlarını da görünür kıldığı saptanmıştır

    VHF suspended plate transmitter antenna design for DVB-T and DAB-T

    This paper presents the design of stacked suspended plate transmitter antenna for digital video and audio broadcasting. Contrary to conventional dipole structures, we have designed the antenna in VHF band (174-254MHz) with two plates for wideband matching and design flexibility. Radiating primary plate has been excited by novel wideband modified inverted L-type probe. Parasitic secondary plate, and vertical wall between primary plate, and ground plane have been used for further matching and beamwidth adjustment. A bandwidth of 42% and gain of 8.5dBi is obtained at center frequency. Together with equivalent lumped element circuit model of designed antenna and experimental results for S-11, gain, and radiation pattern are presented. To the best of authors knowledge this is the first stacked suspended plate antenna achieving a record bandwidth of 42% in VHF band

    A Pilot Study on Validity of Turkish Version of Organizational Politics Scale

    The present study aimed to pilot test the reliability and construct validity of the Turkish version of the Perception of Organizational Politics Scale (short version), developed by Kacmar and Carlson (1997). Study sample included 199 executive and non-executives employees working in different industries in Bursa. Statistical analysis results supported the scale’s one dimensional and three dimensional 13-item structure and the corrected model was shown to be more reliable and valid

    Equality of admission tests using kernel equating under the non-equivalent groups with covariates design

    Educational assessment tests are designed to measure the same psychological constructs over extended periods of time. This feature is important considering that test results are often used in the selection process for admittance to university programs. To ensure fair assessments, especially for those whose results weigh heavily in selection decisions, it is necessary to collect evidence demonstrating that the assessments are not biased, and to confirm that the scores obtained from different test forms have statistical equality. For this purpose, test equating has important functions, as it prevents bias generated by differences in the difficulty levels of different test forms, allows the scores obtained from different test forms to be reported on the same scale, and ensures that the reported scores communicate the same meaning. In this study, these important functions were evaluated using real college admission test data from different test administrations. The kernel equating method under the non-equivalent groups with covariates design was applied to determine whether the scores obtained from different time periods but measuring the same psychological constructs were statistically equivalent. The non-equivalent groups with covariates design was specifically used because the test groups of the admission test are non-equivalent and there are no anchor items. Results from the analyses showed that the test forms had different score distributions, and that the relationship was non-linear. The equating procedure was thus adjusted to eliminate these differences and thereby allow the tests to be used interchangeably

    Synthesis and characterization of secondary-amine-functional microparticles

    Secondary-amine-functional microparticles were prepared in the range of 50-250 μm through the suspension polymerization of styrene, divinylbenzene (DVB), and 2-(tert-butylamino)ethyl methacrylate (tBAEMA). This study focused on the effects of the DVB, tBAEMA, initiator, and stabilizer concentrations and shaking rate on the experimental amine content, swelling ratio, average particle size, and particle size distribution. The suspension polymerization experiments were carried out in two different systems. In the first system, an organic phase, including the monomers and initiator, was dispersed in an aqueous medium in the presence of Al2(SO4)3. Al2(SO4)3, in the presence of an amine monomer (pH ∼ 10), formed colloidal Al(OH)3, which built a nonsticky layer on the surface of the polymerizing droplets that prevented them from coalescing and aggregating. Individual and spherical particles within the range of 50-200 μm were obtained by this polymerization method. The second method was similar to the first polymerization protocol, except that a certain amount of sodium dodecyl sulfate was added as a costabilizer in the presence of Al 2(SO4)3. In these experiments, individual and spherical particles were obtained within the range of 130-250 μm. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc

    ANALYSIS OF INDUSTRY PERCEPTIONS AND EXPECTATIONS OF TOURISM STUDENTS: A CASE STUDY IN TURKEY

    Tourism and Hospitality Management Schools’ students must complete their internship before graduation in four or five stars hotels or travel agencies in Turkey. Some students may have negative perceptions of tourism education and working conditions in the industry, after they have worked as trainees in the industry. The aim of the study is to compare the perceptions and expectations of students in relation to tourism industry who have done their internship with those who have not and is to explore the differences in their future expectations and any changes in their career plans. For the purpose of the study a questionnaire was prepared, based on relevant literature, and the survey was conducted in the School of Tourism and Hotel Management at Anadolu University in Turkey. 204 students were selected by the use of stratified sampling as the study sample from the first, second, third and the fourth year. Half of the questionnaires were distributed to students who had done their internship and the rest to the students who had not undertaken internship yet. Results indicate that the respondents’ perceptions and expectations of the industry were not significant according to their experience. Finally, the differences between respondents are summarized and implications are drawn for the educational institutions and further studies

    Sürekli akan sıvıların ısıtılması için kullanılan yöntemlerden biri de indüksiyon ısıtmadır. İndüksiyon ısıtma işlemi, yüksek frekanslı manyetik alan içine konulan manyetik malzeme üzerinde indüklenen eddy akımlarıyla gerçekleştirilir. Günümüzde, ferromanyetik malzemelerden farklı geometrilerde üretilen indüksiyon ısıtma aparatları, genel olarak iki gruba ayrılabilir: Havuz tip ve Yüzer tip. Yüzer tip ısıtma aparatları daha az güç kayıplarına sahip oldukları için, havuz tip ısıtma aparatlarına göre daha yüksek verimle çalışırlar. Tarihsel gelişim sürecindeki çalışmalarda birçok yüzer tip indüksiyon ısıtma aparatı modeli sunulmuştur. Bu çalışmada; farklı geometrik şekle sahip olup, indüksiyon sıvı ısıtıcılarda ısıtma parçası olarak kullanılmış tüm ısıtma aparatları araştırılmış, üstünlük ve mahzurları incelenmiştir

    On the elemination of infinities in the PO component of equivalent edge currents

    Equivalent edge currents for the Physical Optics (PO) contribution to the edge diffraction are derived by choosing a proper coordinate system for a half plane. It is seen that these expressions for the PO component are free from singularities except at shadow and reflection boundaries on the Keller Cone. To find the total diffracted field, the expressions for the fringe contribution given earlier by Michaeli should be used along with the PO contribution obtained here. The procedure is applied to the problems of backscattering from square and triangular plates. Higher order diffractions are also accounted for by combining the equivalent currents with the Uniform Theory of Diffraction (UTD). The results obtained are compared with previous solutions and measured data. © 1993
