Reaching the full meaning of God's Words (Part II): composition and meaning of Job 40,25-41,26

With the present study we attempt the analysis of the composition of Jb 40,25 – 41,26. This text is connected to the previous one (Jb 40,6-20), strongly absorbed in the figure of Behemoth. The text focuses its attention on another enigmatic figure: Leviathan, that with the previous figure of Behemoth seem to be determined to express the absolute difference of God. The intention is to bring Job to another truth and knowledge of God’s ways. The composition in a sequence composed of three passages (40,25-41,3; 4-16; 17-26) establishes two different moments of this last challenge to Job: his inability to dominate Leviathan as God does and Job’s capability to recognize in himself, and in his own fulminations and arrogant claims, that they are in some way comparable to those of Leviathan, placing him among the children of the proud.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

In this paper, I share some concerns and decisions arisen during my doctoral research process which seeks to integrate decolonial feminist theory as epistemic key for analysis on sexual and reproductive health public policy in Chile, between years 2000 and 2015, based on Coloniality of Gender concept proposed by Maria Lugones. Here I present the most significant aspects in the research process —including theoretical framework and methodological design— that led to the approach of my current research project. The central enigma of God’s Justice, according to Jb 32-37. The significant contribution of Biblical rhetorical

Not withstanding its presence across the full message of the Old Testament, the question of justice and principally divine justice assumes a unique place in the reflection of the sages of Israel of which the book of Job is unanimously accepted as the greatest exponent. I propose that we look briefly at the unique reflection that the book of Job offers us on this subject. It is excellently set out in the literary (con)text. This is why I am concentrating on chapters 32–37 applying to the studies of R. Meynet, mainly to his new and surprising notion of literary context, fully developed and assumed in Biblical Rhetorical Analysis. 1 The uniqueness of the reflection on the justice of God which I want to present emerges as a fruit of this new idea of context. It deals with a study of the Book of Job never done before, in which the newness is based on the challenge of a careful reading that propels the text into new horizons of understanding.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

This article presents an overall reading of the entire section of the book of Job (38:1– 42:6), using some meaningful contributions, gathered in previous studies of the com- position of this section. By pursuing the process of biblical rhetorical analysis (composition, biblical context and interpretation) we were able in this final stage to emphasize some basic literary and thematic strategies, obtaining some new insights of understanding. First, the two pillars that literally support the narrative: the challenges and the answers and within them the experience of knowing what is unknown. Secondly, we justified that these literary characteristics lead to an understanding of God’s intervention as an expression of a singular wisdom dynamism on God’s revelation. A dynamism that develops through the strategies of unfathomable knowledge, that becomes able to indicate point some traces of a wisdom intelligence of the singularity of God.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
