    Improving Student Speaking Ability Through the Integrated English Lesson Method: Demonstrative Presentation

    The purpose of this study is to know that there will be an improvement in students' speaking skill when they are faced with Demonstrative Presentation. This research will use Classroom Action Research design using three research instruments. The results of research will be conducted in two cycles that show this study is not only able to improve students' speaking ability but also increase active participation of students. The expected results of this study are (1) obviously to find out that this method will increase the ablity of studenst in speaking, the most important that we probably will see additional vocabulary of sign posting in students' speaking; (2) Another predicted result in this sudy is the possibility of students' actve participation in the class activity

    Due to the fact that post-harvest handling of local fruits especially in Calina papaya supply chain (IPB 9) has experience problems that can affect the value of its quality appearance, quality improvement is absolutely required. The purposes of this research are 1) Identifying the key attributes of Calina papaya quality improvement based on desires of consumers and to know the level of customer satisfaction using Quality Function Deployment (QFD); 2) Analyzing the causes of Calina papaya quality problems, and 3) Analyzing strategies or ways to improve the quality of Calina papaya in Indonesia. The results of this research show that there are three main attributes of customer satisfaction; namely, the sweet taste, color of fruit meat, and texture of fruit meat. Supply chain activities that have the highest interests of rate based on analysis of QFD are the maintenance (value 521) of cultivation. There are two attributes that have mismatches of quality; bruise and pests-diseases, caused by the raw materials, management, labor, environment, machine and method. The highest priority that can be chosen as the alternative strategy is increasing production capacity, product quality, and food safety assurance by expanding the distribution network

    The background of the problem in this research is the low result of learning math grade I SD Negeri 77 Pekanbaru, caused by the applied learning strategies teachers are less precise. The action taken is the implementation of Direct Learning Model. This research aims to improve the results of learning math grade I in the SD Negeri 77 Pekanbaru school year 2014/2015. Design research is the Research Action class (PTK). The research was conducted in two cycle with data collection instruments namely observation sheets teachers and students as well as test results of learning. After the applied learning models direct then the results of the study showed that application of the Model of Direct Learning can improve the results of learning math grade IV SD Negeri 77 Pekanbaru

    Studi Kinetika Reaksi Asilasi Fenol dengan Asam Sitrat Anhidrida

    Studi kinetika reaksi asilasi fenol dengan asam sitrat anhidrida bertujuan untuk mempelajari kinetika reaksi asilasi fenol dengan asam sitrat anhidrida serta mempelajari pengaruh konsentrasi fenol terhadap kinetika reaksinya dari kadar fenol sisa. Asam sitrat anhidrida dibuat dari asam sitrat dengan cara memanaskan pada suhu 1700C dalam reaktor. Reaksi asilasi fenol dengan asam sitrat anhidrida dilakukan pada suhu 700C dengan variasi perbandingan konsentrasi fenol dan waktu reaksi. Perbandingan konsentrasi fenol dengan asam sitrat anhidrida dilakukan pada 3:1 ; 2:1 ; 1:1 dan pada variasi waktu reaksi 30, 60, 90, 120 menit. Kadar fenol sisa dari reaksi asilasi fenol dengan asam sitrat anhidrida diidentifikasi dengan menggunakan metode folin – ciocalteu. Identifikasi senyawa dengan menggunakan spektrofotometer FTIR digunakan untuk mengetahui gugus fungsi dari senyawa fenol, asam sitrat, asam sitrat anhidrida dan senyawa hasil reaksi. Dari hasil percobaan menunjukkan reaksi orde dua. Semakin besar konsentrasi fenol akan meningkatkan kadar fenol sisa dan menurunkan konstanta laju reaksi

    This research is a classroom action research, which aims to increase knowledge of students class IV SDIT Raudhatturahmah Pekanbaru through Application of Problem-Based learning model (PBM)". Problem Based Learning Model is a series of teaching materials that begin delivery of a question which form the basis of the material delivered next. The learning model is based on the problem is a learning model that is based on a number of issues that require investigation authentic investigations requiring the completion of a real tangible, such as a natural phenomenon. Be implemented in September 2014. The subject of study is a student of class Pekanbaru which totaled 36 people. Based on the data obtained from teachers in Pekanbaru indicate that the minimum completeness criteria (KKM) which has been set at 75. Based on the results of the daily examination teachers give , students work completed in 23 people ( of this 63.9 % ) while the students who did not complete 13 people ( 36,1 % ) of 36 the number of students consisting of 14 women and 20 men. With an average of this 63.9 Technical analysis of the data that researchers use to measure the results of student learning through absorption obtained from the first daily test on the first cycle, the second daily test on the second cycle, seen from the base score with an average of 63.9 % increase in the first cycle with an average of 76.88 second cycle with an average of 89.05. So the increase of the base score is 66.6% siklus I of the basic score is 91.6% siklus II. In addition, the observation sheet presented are also conducted to observe the activities of teachers and students during the learning takes place, by filling in the fields of observation sheet that has been provided which is used to collect data on the activities of teachers and students of class IV activity SDIT Raudhatturahmah Pekanbaru. Percentage of teacher activity cycle I first meeting is 50% and 60% meeting II is the second cycle 1 meeting is 70% and the second meeting is 90% and the percentage of student learning activities in the first cycle is 50% meeting 1 and 2 meetings is 70%, the cycle second meeting of 1 was 75% and the second meeting is 95%. From the above results it is known that the application of problem based learning model can improve the knowledge of fourth grade students SDIT Raudhatturahmah Pekanbaru2014/2015

    Open mirror symmetry for Pfaffian Calabi-Yau 3-folds

    We investigate the open mirror symmetry of certain non-complete intersection Calabi- Yau 3-folds, so called pfaffian Calabi-Yau. We perform the prediction of the number of disk invariants of several examples by using the direct integration method proposed recently and the open mirror symmetry. We treat several pfaffian Calabi-Yau 3-folds in P6\mathbb{P}^6 and branes with two discrete vacua. Some models have the two special points in its moduli space, around both of which we can consider different A-model mirror partners. We compute disc invariants for both cases.     Trans-sinusal frontal approach for olfactory groove meningiomas

    Background We report on our experience with the trans-sinusal frontal approach in removing olfactory groove meningiomas in the department of neurosurgery of Univesity Hospital Center of Annaba (Algeria).Methods Ten tumours were operated on by the trans-sinusal frontal approach, using a bicoronal incision, tree tumours developed on one side, and there were seven bilateral olfactosellar tumours. Our procedure : steotomy of the anterior wall of the frontal sinus was performed with an oscillating saw. The posterior wall of the sinus was resected and the tumour was removed through a real subfrontal route along the plane of the anterior skull base. Ethmoidal blood supply was early controlled at the initial stages of the operation, allowing avascular tumour debulking. Tumour extensions toward the sella and the optic canals were removed without brain retraction. Results Seven patients made a good neurologic recovery. Two was dead in the 24 hours after intervention and one four days after. Olfactory nets were preserved on the contralateral side in unilateral tumours. Conclusions The trans-sinusal frontal approach represents an excellent way for tumours developed in the central anterior skull base, especially for olfactory groove meningiomas, whatever their size

    Undang-undang Nomor 31 Tahun 1999 jo Undang-undang Nomor 20 Tahun 2001 tentang tindak Pidana Korupsi masih menyisahkan celah hukum bagi penjahat pengemplang uang dan kekayaan Negara. Meski saat ini lembaga KPK (Komisi Pemberatasan Korupsi) sudah secara maksimal melakukan tindakan pencegahan (preventif) dan penindakan (Represif), para penjahat ini masih dapat mengakali peraturan Perundang-undangan dan mengerus keuangan Negara untuk memperkaya diri dan kelompoknya. Berdasarkan itu, Pengaturan Illicit Enrichment (Kekayaan yang tidak wajar) sebagaimana diatur dalam pasal 20 UNCAC merupakan hal penting untuk ditindaklanjuti oleh Indonesia sebagai Negara peserta Konvensi ini. Saat ini, dari 193 Negara yang ada di dunia, setidaknya sudah ada 44 negara yang memiliki intrumen hukum setingkat UU tentang Illicit Enrichment. 39 Negara dari 44 tersebut mengenakan sanksi kurungan atau penjara, seperti Cina, India,Malaysia, Brunei, Makao, Bangladesh, dan Mesir
