    Lepton polarization correlations in B→K∗τ−τ+B \to K^* \tau^- \tau^+

    Get PDF
In this work we will study the polarizations of both leptons (τ\tau) in the decay channel B→K∗τ−τ+B\to K^* \tau^- \tau^+. In the case of the dileptonic inclusive decay B→K∗ℓ−ℓ+B\to K^* \ell^- \ell^+, where apart from the polarization asymmetries of single lepton ℓ\ell, one can also observe the polarization asymmetries of both leptons simultaneously. If this sort of measurement is possible then we can have, apart from decay rate, FB asymmetry and the six single lepton polarization asymmetries (three each for ℓ−\ell^- and ℓ+\ell^+), nine more double polarization asymmetries. This will give us a very useful tool in more strict testing of SM and the physics beyond. We discuss the double polarization asymmetries of τ\tau leptons in the decay mode B→K∗τ−τ+B\to K^* \tau^- \tau^+ within the SM and the Minimal Supersymmetric extensions of it.Comment: 21 pages, 21 figures; version to match paper to appear in PR

General analysis of the rare Bc->D^*_s l^+ l^- decay beyond the standard model

The general analysis of the rare Bc->D^*_s l^+ l^- decay is presented by using the most general, model independent effective Hamiltonian. The dependencies of the branching ratios, longitudinal, normal and transversal polarization asymmetries for l^- and the combined asymmetries for l^- and l^+ on the new Wilson coefficients are investigated. Our analysis shows that the lepton polarization asymmetries are very sensitive to the scalar and tensor type interactions, which will be very useful in looking for new physics beyond the standard model.Comment: 27 Pages, 14 Figure

A Reconfigurable Stacked Microstrip Patch Antenna for Satellite and Terrestrial Links

    Get PDF
A reconfigurable stacked microstrip patch antenna is proposed. The antenna operates at an upper frequency f(u) with a broadside pattern, 7.5-dBi right-hand circularly polarized gain, and 15.8% bandwidth. At a lower frequency f(1), the antenna operates as a planar inverted-F antenna (7.3% bandwidth and 3.9-dBi peak gain) with the main beam directed close to the horizon. Switching between the two regimes of operation is achieved using p-i-n diodes. antenna operation in the upper frequency hand is suitable for low-earth-orbit or medium-earth-orbit satellite communications, and in the lower frequency band, the antenna is useful for terrestrial land-mobile or other wireless applications

Model Independent Analysis of the Forward-Backward Asymmetry for the B→K1μ+μ−B\to K_{1}\mu^{+}\mu^{-} Decay

The sensitivity of the zero position of the forward backward asymmetry AFB\mathcal{A}_{FB} for the exclusive B→K1(1270)μ+μ−B\rightarrow K_{1}(1270)\mu^{+}\mu^{-} decay is examined by using most general non-standard 4-fermion interactions. Our analysis shows that the zero position of the forward backward asymmetry is very sensitive to the sign and size of the Wilson coefficients corresponding to the new vector type interactions, which are the counter partners of the usual Standard Model operators but have opposite chirality. In addition to these, the other significant effect comes from the interference of Scalar-Pseudoscalar and Tensor type operators. These results will not only enhance our theoretical understanding about the axial vector mesons but will also serve as a good tool to look for physics beyond the SM.Comment: 14 pages, 8 figures, Published version that appears in EPJ

B--> K^* l^+ l^- decay in the two Higgs doublet model with flavor changing neutral currents

We study the decay width, forward-backward asymmetry and the longitudinal lepton polarization for the exclusive decay B --> K^* l^+ l^- in the two Higgs doublet model with three level flavor changing neutral currents (model III) and analyse the dependencies of these quantities on the the selected parameters, \xi^{U,D}, of model III including the next to leading QCD corrections. It is found that to look for charged Higgs effects, the measurements of the branching ratio, forward-backward asymmetry and the longitudinal lepton polarization for the decay B --> K^* l^+ l^- are promising.Comment: 17 pages, 6 figure

The magnetic moments of 'Lambda_b' and 'Lambda_c' baryons in light cone QCD sum rules

Using the most general form of the interpolating currents of heavy baryons, the magnetic moments of heavy baryons "Lambda_Q (Q=b,c)" are calculated in framework of the light cone QCD sum rules. A comparison of our results on magnetic moments with the existing theoretical results calculated in various other frameworks are presented.Comment: 14 pp, 6 figures (postscript formatted), LaTex formatte

Study of Bs-> \phi l^+ l^-$ Decay in a Single Universal Extra Dimension

Utilizing form factors calculated within the light-cone sum rules, we have evaluated the decay branching ratios of Bs→ϕγB_s\to \phi\gamma and Bs→ϕℓ+ℓ−B_s\to \phi \ell^+\ell^- in a single universal extra dimension model (UED), which is viewed as one of the alternative theories beyond the standard model (SM). For the decay Bs→ϕℓ+ℓ−B_s \to \phi \ell^+\ell^-, the dilepton invariant mass spectra, the forward-backward asymmetry, and double lepton polarization are also calculated. For each case, we compared the obtained results with predictions of the SM. In lower values of the compactification factor 1/R, the only parameter in this model, we see the considerable discrepancy between the UED and SM models. However, when 1/R increases, the results of UED tend to diminish and at 1/R=1000GeV1/R = 1000 \mathrm{GeV}, two models have approximately the same predictions. Compared with data from CDF of Bs→ϕμ+μ−B_s \to \phi \mu^+ \mu^-, the 1/R tends to be larger than 350GeV350 \mathrm{GeV}. We also note that the zero crossing point of the forward-backward asymmetry is become smaller, which will be an important plat to prob the contribution from the extra dimension model. The results obtained in this work will be very useful in searching new physics beyond SM. Moreover, the order of magnitude for branching ratios shows a possibility to study these channels at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), CDF and the future super-B factory.Comment: 13 pages, 16 figure

Heavy-to-light transition form factors and their relations in light-cone QCD sum rules

The improved light-cone QCD sum rules by using chiral current correlator is systematically reviewed and applied to the calculation of all the heavy-to-light form factors, including all the semileptonic and penguin ones. By choosing suitable chiral currents, the light-cone sum rules for all the form factors are greatly simplified and depend mainly on one leading twist distribution amplitude of the light meson. As a result, relations between these form factors arise naturally. At the considered accuracy these relations reproduce the results obtained in the literature. Moreover, since the explicit dependence on the leading twist distribution amplitudes is preserved, these relations may be more useful to simulate the experimental data and extract the information on the distribution amplitude.Comment: 1+16 pages, no figure

Model independent analysis of 'Lambda' baryon polarizations in (Lambda_b -> Lambda l^+ l^-) decay

We present the model independent analysis of Λ\Lambda baryon polarizations in the (Lambda_b -> Lambda l^+ l^-) decay. The sensitivity of the averaged 'Lambda' polarizations to the new Wilson coefficients is studied. It is observed that there exist certain regions of the new Wilson coefficients where the branching ratio coincides with the standard model prediction, while the 'Lambda' baryon polarizations deviate from the standard model results remarkably.Comment: 19 pages, 9 figures, LaTeX formatte
