Organic Thin Film Transistor with Carbon Nanotube Electrodes

    Get PDF
The contact resistance between organic semiconductors and metallic electrodesaffectsthe performance of the organic thin film transistor (OTFT) negatively so that it may make thefield effect mobility of charge carrier seem small. In order to reduce the contact resistance weused conducting Carbon Nanotube (CNT) films, which consist of the same element as the basicmaterial of the organic semiconductors, as source or drain electrodes. The measurements oftransistor properties based on pentacene single crystals have been carried out by using both CNTfilm electrodes and metal electrode

We show that the performance of pentacene transistors can be significantly improved by maximizing the interfacial area at single walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT)/pentacene. The interfacial areas are varied by anchoring short SWCNTs of different densities (0-30/μm) to the Pd electrodes. The mobility average is increased three, six and nine times for low, medium and high SWCNT densities, respectively, compared to the devices with zero SWCNT. The current on-off ratio and on-current are increased up to 40 times and 20 times with increasing the SWCNT density. We explain the improved device performance using reduced barrier height of SWCNT/pentacene interface

Alcohol dehydrogenase immobilization on functionalized carbon nano-tubes modified electrode

A thin layer of poly methylen green (PMG) was covered on glassy carbon (GC) electrode surface by electrochemical polymerization method. In the next step by dropping a suspension of carboxylic acid functionalized carbon nano-tubes on the PMG/GC electrode a layer of CNTs was coated on the electrode. Thereafter, to immobilize the enzyme on electrode surface, three layers of PMG, alcohol dehydrogenase and PMG were added to the modified electrode, respectively. The Fourier transform infrared, scanning electron microscopy and cyclic voltammetry measurements clearly confirmed the successful immobilization of enzyme on the GC electrode

Using online image processing technique for measurement the browning in banana during drying (a new and automatic method)

Determination and controlling of quality parameters can be useful for ordering and marketing of fruits.  Color is the first and the most important parameter in the visual appearance of fruits, specifically in banana.  The aim of this study is to use image-processing technique (online operation) to measure and analyze the color change of banana slices during thin layer drying.  Using online-image-processing technique resulted in designing a machine vision system to control the color change of products automatically.  The results show a linear relation with high correlation coefficient for L*, a* and b* (0.967, 0.962 and 0.991 respectively) between the data of the image-processing technique and the hold-hand colorimeter.  In this study, parameters of chroma, hue and browning index were determined to describe the kinetics of color change in banana slices.  The change of chroma was not significant, but hue was decreased and browning index was increased during drying time.  In addition, the experimental data of the L* and ∆E was fitted using zero and first order models with high correlation coefficient (0.80-0.97).   Keywords: image processing, machine vision, online, banan

Supply Chain Network Analysis for Outboard Motors at Motor Boaters USA

    Get PDF
Motor Boaters USA found themselves possibly spending too much on their current network distribution of small and large outboard motors and requested new distribution alternatives for the U.S. Through past network distribution data analysis, the team devised 3 scenarios it believed would provide one or more cost effective distribution networks applicable to the request. Through what-if analysis, the teams\u27 calculations produced solid results, which were then presented to Motor Boaters USA for reflection and possible implementation

Comparison of Cleaning Efficacy and Instrumentation Time in Primary Molars: Mtwo Rotary Instruments vs. Hand K-Files

Introduction: Pulpectomy is the preferred treatment for restorable primary teeth with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis or periradicular lesion. Considering the rather new application of rotary files for pulpectomy of primary teeth, the aim of this study was to compare the cleaning efficacy and instrumentation time of hand K-files and Mtwo rotary system for preparation of human primary molars. Methods and Materials: This experimental study was conducted on 100 extracted primary maxillary and mandibular intact molars with no resorption. Access cavities were prepared and India ink was injected into the root canal on a vibrator using an insulin syringe. Canals were then divided into 5 groups (n=20): in group I, canals were instrumented using K-files up to #25 for mesial and buccal canals and #30 for palatal and distal canals. In group II, canals were prepared using Mtwo rotary files (15/0.05, 20/0.06 and 25/0.06 for mesial and buccal canals and 15/0.05, 20/0.06, 25/0.06 and finally 30/0.05 for distal and palatal canals). In group III, root canals were only irrigated with saline. Groups IV and V were the positive and negative control groups, respectively. The time required for cleaning and preparation of the canals for each of the specimens in groups I, II and III was recorded. Results: The mean score of cleanliness of Mtwo was not significantly different from K-file group (P>0.05). However the mean instrumentation time in Mtwo group was significantly shorter (P<0.001). Conclusion: Although there were no differences regarding the cleaning efficacy of either system, Mtwo rotary files were far more time efficient. Keywords: Deciduous Tooth; Hand K-files; Mtwo; Primary Molars; Pulpectomy; Root Canal Preparation; Root Canal Therap
