Education is a set of activities that are done in order to ensure the development of knowledge, skills and abilities in human behaviours. Art emphasizes the connection between emotion and thought. Also it has an effective role in the process and development of learning. But art education is a specific process of aesthetic changes in individuals’ behaviours through their own experience. It is known that art and art education are based on very old times such as the humanity history and the reality of it’s been continuously argued from Platon up to date. Democracy which is the other concept of this research is a form of an administration whereas the art is a form of existence. While the artist exists by creating, the democracy tries to exist by will. When it’s looked from the art, certainly, the art does not have the power that brings the freedom and the truth on its own, however without art; this power cannot take a form, because the democracy cannot look at the human’s pains and beauties as sensitive as the art. Aim of this research is to discuss the relation of art education and democracy as a form of implementation and functionality from antique Greece to the present day.  The method of the study is descriptive and references in literature are interpreted. The aim of the study is to compare the participation constraint for leisure activities of teachers who working In the Ministry of National Education (MNE). In order to determine the leisure time constraints leisure constraints scales (LCS) were applied to the participants. A total of 413 teachers (258 male and 155 female) working in the Ministry of National Education participated in the study in Iğdır and Erzurum provinces. No statistically significant difference was found at the level of p <0,05 in any of the sub-dimensions as a result of the inter-city comparison of the female participants. While there was a significant difference in the lack of information, facilities and time sub-dimensions of the male participants in the study, p <0.05 was not significant difference in the other sub-dimensions. It is seen that the difference is in favor of the participants from the province of Erzurum. There was no statistically significant difference between the two cities in terms of lack of information, facilities and time (p <0,05) in the subscales, as in male participants. The female teachers who working Iğdır and Erzurum province there was no difference between the scores in the LCS and the mean scores of both groups were close to each other. For the male participants working in Iğdır province, it was determined that the lack of information, facilities and time constraints were more effective in participation of recreational physical activities than male participants working in Erzurum province

A computational approach to decipher chromatosome structure determinants

In eukaryotic cells, DNA transcription, replication and repair events are controlled by the regulation of DNA compaction mechanisms that determine the open and closed chromatin states. Nucleosomes are the basic DNA packaging units of chromatin. The nucleosome core (NC) consists of a core histone protein octamer with approximately two tight superhelical turns of DNA wrapped around it. The NC is extended at its entry and exit points by linker DNA (L-DNA) and a linker histone (LH) protein binds between the two L-DNA arms to form a chromatosome. The dyad is the single DNA base pair between the nucleosome entry and exit points determining the symmetry axis and is used to define the position of LH binding to a nucleosome. For LH - nucleosome binding, previous studies indicate both on- and off-dyad binding modes, as well as different LH orientations. Thus, the molecular determinants of the structure of LH – nucleosome complex and the dynamics of LH – nucleosome binding are not fully understood. The aim of the research described here was to obtain an atomic-detail level understanding of chromatosome formation. Analysis of the experimentally determined structures of LH – nucleosome complexes showed that instead of a single 3D structure, an ensemble of structures of LH – nucleosome complexes exists. To understand the distribution of these ensembles, normal mode analysis (NMA), standard and accelerated molecular dynamics (MD & AMD) and Brownian dynamics (BD) simulations were applied to LH, nucleosome and chromatosome systems. MD and AMD simulations showed that the globular domain of the LH (LH GD) prefers to be in its closed form in solution. Upon nucleosome binding, the LH GD structure transformed to an open structure due to hydrophobic interactions with the L-DNA of the nucleosome. Additionally, LH GD binding constrained the flexibility of the L-DNA and affected the directions of movement of the L-DNA arms. BD simulations indicated that various chromatosome configurations were possible depending on LH GD sequence and L-DNA opening angles. These findings suggest that LH – nucleosome binding is mediated by a combination of conformational selection and induced fit mechanisms. Further BD simulations show that chromatosome configurations were affected by single point mutations in the LH GD and varied for different LH isoforms. My results indicate that by making specific single point mutation exchanges, it is possible to swap LH – nucleosome configurations among different LH GD isoforms. Similar shifts were observed in chromatosome configuration upon introduction of post translational modifications (PTMs) in the LH GD. I applied BD simulations to compute dissociation rate constant (koff) values and compare them with previously reported fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP) data on the binding of various LH mutants to chromatin. The results of the BD simulations correspond with the relative trends in measured FRAP recovery half-times (t50) of LH – chromatin binding of various LH mutants. The results thus enable the interpretation of the FRAP data in terms of a physical model of LH – nucleosome binding. My thesis provides detailed insights into the structure, dynamics and kinetics of chromatosome formation in eukaryotes. The results presented in this work can guide further experiments on the sequence determinants of LH – nucleosome binding

This study aimed to investigate the nature of the induction process of English as a foreign language (EFL) teachers teaching at tertiary level through individual interviews. In order to gather intended data, fifteen novice instructors teaching at four different public universities in Ankara were interviewed on a basis of two criteria: (a) having 1 to 3 years of teaching experience, and (b) teaching at higher education level. The data gathered from the interviews were transcribed, coded, and categorized under themes in a qualitative research tradition. Subsequently the findings were interpreted. The findings were organized around research questions and there appeared four main themes: (1) nature of induction process; (2) common concerns of novice teachers; (3) possible adaptation challenges; and (4) practices to overcome difficulties. The results revealed that pre-service education, especially of the graduates of non-Education Faculties, did not adequately respond to the needs of the novice teachers in induction period. Considering this insufficient preparation and unsatisfactory pedagogical formation processes, an effective teacher education program as well as a contributing teacher induction program was claimed to be adopted by higher education institutions

The constant increase in consumption of electricity has become one of the biggest problems today. The evaluation of energy resources has also made it worthwhile to consume it. In this respect, the transmission of electric energy and the operation of power systems have become important issues. As a result, reliable, high quality and affordable energy supply has become the most important task of operators. Realizing these elements can certainly be accomplished with good planning. One of the most important elements of this planning is undoubtedly consumption estimates. Therefore, knowing when consumers will consume energy is of great importance for operators as well as energy producers. Consumption estimates or, in other words, load estimates are also important in terms of the price balance that will occur in the market. In this study, the short-term load estimation of Düzce, Turkey is performed with Artificial Neural Networks (ANN). In the study, the April values were taken as reference and the estimates were obtained according to the input results of this month. As a result of this study, it is seen that the load consumption with nonlinear data can be successfully forecasted by ANN

Objective: Following acute exercises, changes in mineral and hematological concentrations are observed in the organism depending on the exercise, but regular and submaximal exercises do not fully reveal the mineral and hematological effects. This study was conducted to determine the effects of volleyball training on mineral metabolism and hematological parameters over a period of three months. Method:The research group included 20 healthy male volunteers in the 13-16 age group. A training program of 80 minutes per day, 4 days per week, for three months was applied to the athletes who participated in the study. Blood samples were taken twice before and at the end of the training sessions from the resting athletes. Sodium, potassium, chlorine, calcium, magnesium, WBC, RBC, HGB, HCT, MCV, MCH, MCHC, PLT, MPV and PDW levels were determined in the blood samples collected. The data were analyzed using the SPSS 22 package program. The Paired Samples t-test was used to compare the research group's pre-final test data. Significance was considered to be p>0.05. Finding: The analysis showed that the research group had statistically significant differences in sodium, chlorine, phosphorus, magnesium, RBC, HCT, MCV, MCH, MCHC, MPV and PCT levels (p<0.05) and no statistically significant differences in potassium, calcium, WBC, HGB, PLT, RDW-CV and PDW levels (p>0.05). Conclusion: As a result, volleyball training over a long period of time has been observed to cause changes in mineral metabolism and some hematological parameters. It was found that the regular training schedule caused differences in some mineral and whole blood values. In the light of this information, we believe that long-term adolescent training will have a positive impact on the health of athletes

Anahtar Kelimeler: Enformasyon Toplumu, Yeni Medya, Sosyal Paylaşım Araçları, Gözetim-Gösteri, MahremiyetInternet and social media have collectively revolutionized the ways in which people choose to communicate and obtain information. Social media became a common activity of today's youth. Such sites offer today's youth a portal for entertainment and communication and have grown exponentially in recent years. Social media have achieved a phenomenal global growth over the last decade, hence attracting much attention from researchers worldwide. According to a statistic study on the social network penetration in Turkey in the year 2014, 52 percent of the population were active social media users. Compared to this condition, sociological studies on social media in Turkey have recently began to appear. It seems to be reasonable to think that the social media have a great impact on the lives of young people. Such studies would provide an insight on the influence of social media on the behaviour and life conduct of youngsters in the country. This thesis reports the findings of a research work that was carried out in Sakarya targeting university youth aging from 21 to 25 years where nearly 400 responses were collected through a survey. It was found that the majority of youth were using social media sites on a large scale, mainly for communication purposes. According to this study, although these have a positive impact on the young in terms of freedom of expression, yet quite a large number of respondents reported having met with negative experiences on these social media sites. Get PDF
The phenomena of leadership has long been cited and discussed in business and management literature. Discourse on effective leadership qualities is popular in management circles. Interestingly, traditional literature on leadership has presented rather diverse results. And recent developments in the field of leadership and management reveal a growing interest in religion and spirituality. The present study attempts to understand leadership and submit a comprehensive framework exploring leadership traits from an Islamic viewpoint. A sample of 16 respondents was selected, most of whom had extensive knowledge and experience in leadership and management. They belonged to diverse industries such as manufacturing, construction, telecommunications, banking and education. The study found that Islamic Leadership is based around the notion of stewardship of Allah's creation. An Islamic leader must be a role model with exemplary personality, attitude, character and competence. And only those individuals may be selected as leaders who have piety (Taqwa) and goodness. The study also presented that Taqwa, Consultation and Intellectual competence are the key traits for a Muslim leader. In addition, Taqwa encompasses Islamic Spirituality and Islamic Social responsibly. The sub-constructs of Taqwa include; belief (Iman), worship (Ibadat) and repentance (Tawbah), patience, emotional control, forgiveness, the establishment of zakah and giving sadakah, fulfillment of contracts, justice and integrity. Together, these traits frame the overall description of Islamic leadership
