The focus of this empirical study is to examine the interceding effect of Perceived Organizational Support (POS) between Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Job Satisfaction (JS). For this purpose, random data of 300 respondents was collected from primary public schools of four districts of Punjab, Pakistan i.e. Lahore, Sahiwal, Okara and Nankana Sahib through self-administrative questionnaires. The time legged approach is used in collection of data to decrease self-biasness of responses. Sequential Equation modeling is applied to test the effectiveness and fitness of model. The results of the study suggest that job satisfaction is positively affected by emotional intelligence Perceived Organizational Support (POS) also influences the relationship between emotional intelligence and job satisfaction. Practical implications and future directions are also provided.Key terms: Job Satisfaction, Emotional Intelligence, Perceived Organizational Suppor

Soil is one of the most abundant and frequently used materials in geotechnical engineering and construction. Soil is heterogenous material with different minerals some of which are classified as problematic minerals. The soil is classified as unacceptable for construction purpose if some of these minerals are present in the soil. Soil improvement utilizing nano materials is a novel technique to upgrade engineering and shear strength parameters of problematic soils. The effects of varying amounts of nano-silica and lime in clayey soil are investigated in this study. For this purpose, soil samples were moulded by incorporating 0, 3, 6, 9% nano silica and 0, 5, and 10% lime. The samples were tested for Atterberg limits, Plasticity index, optimum moisture content OMC, maximum dry density MDD, swelling, and unconfined compressive strength (UCS) at 7 and 28 days. The results revealed that addition of nano-silica in lime treated high plastic clay improved the plasticity index as well as UCS and swelling behaviour by a significant margin. Results highlighted that incorporation of nano silica reduced the plasticity index. UCS values of the soil increased by adding nano silica 28 days UCS increased by 10 times as compared to 7 days strength. The swelling in soil samples with 10% lime and 9% nano silica is reduced by almost 32% as compared to controlled samples. OMC is also increased by 17% meanwhile MDD is reduced by 9% when nano silica was added. The findings of this study can be used in any project that requires improved engineering and geotechnical properties of high plastic clayey soil for shallow foundation

This study is based on the problem that how regulations made by oil and gas regulatory authority influences the companies in oil and gas sector of Pakistan. We identify 13 regulatory changes in oil and sector of Pakistan which broadly includes the announcement related to the formulation, functions and responsibilities of oil and gas authority, deregulation and changes in the prices of oil and gas products, interference of apex court into the oil and gas sector and privatization of oil refineries in emerging market of Pakistan. Well-liked event study methodology is used to uncover the impact of regulation announcement on equity prices in Pakistan. Beside this, we also capture the effect of regulation announcement on the firm performance by introducing the dummy variable in ordinary least framework. In line with the financial and econometric theory criteria, we use the sales growth, leverage, liquidity and tangibility as control variables. Study reveal that regulatory announcements have statistically significant aggregate effect on the oil and gas sector of Pakistan stock exchange. We recommend to the policy makers, managers and regulators that the stock prices of oil and gas companies are more sensitive toward the regulatory announcements related to interference of Supreme Court and regulations concerning to the formulation, functions and responsibilities of oil and gas regulatory authority in Pakistan

Islamic mutual funds are different from conventional mutual funds because both have different characteristics. Islamic mutual funds act upon the Shariah guidelines and rules. This study investigates the performance of Islamic and conventional mutual funds for the period of 8 years from January 01, 2010 to December 2017. For the purpose of analysis 30 Islamic mutual funds and 30 conventional mutual funds are selected as sample of the study. Study evaluates the performance of Islamic and conventional mutual funds based on different ratios like Sharpe ratio, Treynor ratio and Jensen Alphen along with data envelopment analysis technique. Sharpe and Teynor ratios of Islamic mutual funds are higher than the conventional mutual funds which shows the better performance of Islamic mutual fund as compared to conventional mutual funds. Whereas the results of Jenson Alpha showed opposing results with Treynor and Sharpe ratios in which the value of Jenson Alpha of Islamic mutual fund is lower than conventional mutual funds. Results of data envelopment analysis showed higher efficiency of Islamic mutual funds as compared to conventional mutual funds. Ultimately, it is concluded that financial performance of Islamic mutual funds is superior as compared to conventional mutual funds in Pakistani mutual fund market for the period of 2010 to 2017

This study is concerned with conceptual model development, which examines the innovation influence on the relationship of organisational culture, entrepreneurial orientation and performance of large manufacturing firms in Pakistan. A total of 399 questionnaires were distributed to large manufacturing firms in Pakistan to assess the relationships between organisational culture, entrepreneurial orientation, innovation, and firm performance. The findings reveal that entrepreneurial orientation significantly influences the performance of large manufacturing firms in Pakistan. Meanwhile, the results also indicated that other factors such as organisational culture do not significantly relate to the manufacturing firm’s performance. Interestingly, the results had shown that the factor of innovation significantly mediated the relationships between organisational culture, entrepreneurial orientation and firm performance. Based on the results, it can be summarised that the mechanism used to enhance the innovative culture in the organisation will also contribute to the introduction, adoption and diffusion of innovations. Additionally, these factors would contribute to increased performance and achievement in the near future. Indeed, this statement is supported by numerous current and past studies conducted in Pakistan, where scholars found that innovation is the primary impetus of firm performance. However, there exists a very limited number of studies regarding the impact of innovation on organisational culture and entrepreneurial orientation in manufacturing firms in Pakistan. This study would lead to a significant contribution to the prevailing literature by empirically examining the relationship between organisational culture, entrepreneurial orientation, innovation and firm performance
