Borrowing does not mean to focus on the rented words but it also focuses on the other borrowed features of the language i.e. phonemes, morphemes and syntactic features. In addition, it is a traditional term having universally significance. Lexical borrowing is a process through which one language adopts the individual words. Furthermore, when two languages come into contact with each other and one language picks the lexical items from the other language however, the language which receives the words is called “recipient language”, and on the other hand, the language who shares the words is called “donor language”. This article presents a case study of  lexical borrowing in the light of two national newspapers of Pakistan “Daily Dawn” and “The Nation”.</p

Exam anxiety: A Comparative Study of Normal and Impaired Individuals

Stress and anxiety play a significant role in the grades of students and accounts for their negative psychological and mental behavior. This study aims at comparing exam anxiety among normal and special children. The result of the comparison explains the reasons for anxiety. The paper also gives some recommendations to overcome the problem of anxiety. This study is qualitatively cross-sectional. The data was randomly selected from the private and governmental educational sector of Sargodha, Pakistan from the 5th of October to the 19th of October 2017. As a methodology, 20 individuals of matric level were selected randomly from private and governmental sectors of both special and normal individuals. 10 individuals were special, and 10 individuals were normal individuals. Anxiety among these individuals was measured by the help of the state-trait anxiety inventory instrument. The findings of the results concluded that student’s self-created fears play a significant role in triggering anxiety among learners.  The ratio of special children under the effect of anxiety was higher in terms of confidence, controlling of nerves, exam hall ease and nausea before the exam as compared to normal individuals. Normal individuals lacked concentration, and their overthinking of getting fail was the reason for exam anxiety. Self- created fears were found to be the sole cause of anxiety among normal individuals as compared to impaired individuals where the natural deficiency emotionally destabilizes them and causes loss of their confidence. Dodson’s law has been found to overcome anxiety disorders among both types of individuals

ASSESSMENT OF LOADING OF ASCORBYL-2-PHOSPHATE AND 6-O-PALMITOYLASCORBIC ACID IN CETYL DIMETHICONE COPOLYOL BASED W/O/W EMULSIONS

W/O/W emulsions with multifaceted nature ensure the ability to incorporate lipophilic as well as hydrophilic compounds based on their solubility. Loading of these compounds in different phases of W/O/W emulsion may affect their constancy. This study was aimed to evaluate the constancy of Ascorbyl-2-phosphate and 6-O-Palmitoylascorbic acid in W/O/W emulsions (F1 and F2). F1 and F2 samples containing Ascorbyl-2-phosphate and 6-O-Palmitoylascorbic acid&nbsp; in different phases of cetyl dimethicone copolyol based W/OW emulsions were analyzed for globule size, rheological behavior and HPLC, immediately after preparation and then at different storage conditions (8°C, 25°C, 40°C and 40°C+75%RH) for 90 days. Rheological analysis showed that at accelerated storage conditions F1 and F2 had shear thinning behaviour of varying shear stress with no influence of location of functional ingredients in the carrier system. Microscopic analysis showed increase in globule size with time, especially at higher temperatures while decreased at low temperatures. HPLC analysis at the end of 90 days showed that 6-O-Palmitoylascorbic acid and Ascorbyl-2-phosphate were almost stable in F1 and F2 W/OW emulsions with no influence of their location in a carrier system. F1 and F2 W/OW emulsions were found stable carriers for Ascorbyl-2-phosphate and 6-O-Palmitoylascorbic acid. This study may contribute to the improvement of formulations with Ascorbyl-2-phosphate and 6-O-Palmitoylascorbic acid to enhance their cosmetic benefits and also provides the direction to evaluate the stability with different concentrations of these compounds

PATTERN OF DISEASES IN MEDICAL WARDS OF A TERTIARY CARE HOSPITAL OF SOUTH PUNJAB, PAKISTAN.

Objective:- To assess the frequency and pattern of diseases in a medical wards at tertiary care hospital of Southern Punjab. Study design:- Cross-sectional study. Setting:-Medical Units of Nishtar Hospital Multan. Patients and methods:- Patients admitted at different Medical Units of Nishtar Hospital, Multan were included in the study.  Specially designed proforma was filled, data were collected and analysed on SPSS-20. Results:- Total admitted patients in medical units of Nishtar Hospital, Multan from May, 2016 to May, 2017 were 660. Out of these 660, 390 (59.1%) were males and 270 (40.9%) were females. Age ranges from12-70 and above. Mean age was 43.88 years with standard deviation 18.87 years. Mostly (63.5%) patients were from home district. Chief complaints were uncontrolled diabetes mellitus (17.6%), fever (13.6%), weakness of one-half of body (10%), uncontrolled hypertension (9.7%), cough and fever (8.5%), yellowness of eyes (5.8%) and vomiting (4.2%). Most common disease was diabetes mellitus (19.1%) followed by hypertension (17.9%), cerebro-vascular accidents (10%), chronic liver diseases (9.7%), acute hepatitis (8.9%), pneumonia (7.4%), meningitis (5.9%), chronic renal failure (3.2%), acid peptic disease (2%) and acute myeloid leukemia (1.5%). Conclusion:- Study revealed diabetes mellitus, hypertension, ischemic heart disease  (IHD) and Cerebro-vascular accident  (CVA) are most common diseases. Important measure to control diabetes mellitus and hypertension must be adopted. More detailed and large scale study are needed on pattern of diseases at tertiary care hospital so that disease pattern are known and on these basis strategies for control of diseases and patients care can be derived. Neostigmine as an Adjunct to 0.5% Lignocaine Quality of Anaesthetia and Analgesia in Intravention Regional Anaesthesia

Objective:- To compare the duration of anaesthesia and the degree of post operative pain relief. Material and methods:- This Interventional type of study was carried out in the Anaesthesia department, Nishtar Hospital Multan from January 2017 to January 2018. A total of 100 patients (two groups of 50 patients in each group). Results:- The onset of anaesthesia and quality of anaesthesia were better in neostigmine group (P&lt;0.05). Post operative pain relief was also better. No significant difference in hemodynamics and no adverse effects were observed. Conclusion:- With the addition of neostigmine in traditional lignocaine solution for IVRA the quality of anaesthesia and analgesia is improved. Suicide Rate Predictions In Pakistan By using Neural Networks

Suicide is the understudied subject in Pakistan that is a cause of death all over the world. Seventy-fivepercent of suicide occurs in LMIC.In Pakistan information about suicide is limited. The study is about tofind the number of suicide from major cities of Pakistan and then predict the number of suicides by usingNeural Networks Algorithm. About 24639 cases were found in our research from 2001-18 in majorcities of Pakistan. Hanging and poisoning were the most common methods of suicide. The peak age ofsuicide committers was 20-35 included males and females. The lowest number of suicide was inBahawalpur (130 from 2001 to 2018) and the Highest was in Lahore (5925 from 2001 to 2018)
