Using a mixed method explanatory sequential design, this study investigates intensive English program (IEP) instructors’ perceptions of the impact of COVID-19 emergency remote teaching on reading instruction. Forty-four IEP instructors completed an online survey, and seven of them participated in follow-up interviews. Both quantitative and qualitative results confirmed the impact on the teaching of reading. Some instructors reported having to leave out supplemental learning outcomes and focus on core learning objectives only. Most participants also experienced a decrease in student engagement and student-student interaction during reading and vocabulary instruction. However, student-teacher interaction did not seem impacted. This research supports the view that the teaching of reading is contingent upon multiple factors, particularly the instructional environment

Characterization and synthesize of Ba1-xCexTiO3 (x=0.01mol.) annealed at three different temperatures (1100oC, 1200 oC, 1300 oC) have been studied. For preparing powder of  (x = 0.01 moles), Sol- Gel synthesis was carried out according to the stoichiometric conditions. The powder obtained palletized at 1.5 ton /mm2 pressure into a 10 mm dia. Pellet using PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) as binder. The pellets were then annealed at 1100oC for 1 hour. Then silver paste was applied on pellet by fully coating the one side and applying a single dot on other side, for making the pellet as capacitor. The XRD pattern reveals that the lattice parameter increases with the Ce doping and c/a ratio decreased which shows that tetragonality decreases. In all investigated samples it is assumed that the phase transition analysis, after doping Ce in BaTiO3 the Curie temperature decreases

CONCEPTUALISING THE ROLE OF INDIA IN NORTH KOREA`S DENUCLEARISATION

The US and its allies perceive North Korea's acquisition of nuclear weapons as a significant strategic challenge in the region. Diplomatic efforts have been made to persuade the Kim regime to abandon its nuclear programme, but they have failed. The DPRK considers nuclear weapons capability vital for deterrence against external threats and strategically crucial for national defence. India, a key US ally in containing China, has taken a stiffer stance towards Pyongyang's nuclear programme while enhancing its role in contributing to North Korea's denuclearisation. It represents itself as a staunch opponent of nuclear proliferation and the development of sophisticated weapons. This paper explores India's role in North Korea's perceived denuclearisation. It highlights that India has adopted a dual-standard approach to nuclear proliferation and sophisticated weapons and is also trying to create a technological nexus between Pakistan and North Korea, allegedly to achieve strategic ambitions in South Asia and assert pressure on Pakistan with the help of the US and its Western allies.   Bibliography Entry Kakar, Sher Ali and Muhammad Adil Khan. 2023. The continuous development of the information technology and mobile communication world and the potentials available in the smart devices make these devices widely used in daily life. The mobile applications with the internet are distinguished simple, essay to use in any time/anywhere, communication between relatives and friends in different places in the world. The social application networks make these devices received several of the duplicate files daily which lead to many drawbacks such inefficient use of storage, low performance of CPU, RAM, and increasing consumption battery. In this paper, we present a good scheme to remove from the duplicate files, and we focus on image files as a common case in social apps. Our work overcomes on the above-mentioned issues and focuses to use hash function and Huffman code to build unique code for each image. Our experiments improve the performance from 1046770, 1995808 ns to 950000, and 1981154 ns in Galaxy and HUAWEI, respectively. In the storage side, the proposed scheme saves storage space from 1.9 GB, 1.24 GB to 2 GB, and 1.54 GB, respectively

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of Bevacizumab in central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR) Methodology: It is a randomized control trail. The study was conducted in Ophthalmology department of Allied Hospital, Faisalabad and Nishtar Hospital, Multan. From September 2016 to October 2017. Ethical approval was obtained from Hospital Ethics committee. Forty six patients took part in this study. Sample was collected using probability consecutive sampling technique. Computer software SPSS version 23 was used to analyze the data. Frequency and percentage was calculated for the qualitative variables like gender and Chi square test was applied to check the significance and association among variables. P value less than and equal to 0.05 was taken significant. Results: Forty six patients took part in the study belonging to both genders. There were 58.7% male (n=27) and 41.3% females (n=19) when gender distribution was analyzed. Mean and standard deviation for age came out to be 47.17±2.13. The baseline value for visual acuity had mean and standard deviation of 42.82±7.91, while Mean±S.D of visual acuity after treatment was 57.78±4.33. The difference between the means of visual acuity at baseline and after treatment was statistically significant (p=0.001). Similarly mean and standard deviation of central macular thickness before and after treatment was 357.89±96.17 and 149.76±30.19 µm respectively. There was reduction in the mean of central macular thickness after treatment and the difference between the two results was also statistically significant (p=0.001). Conclusion: This study concludes that bevacizumab is significantly effectual in the management of CSC. But more research work in the form of randomized controlled trails is required to evaluate the effectiveness of intravitreal bevacizumab in this condition.
