Visual and cultural outcomes of bilingual education in developed states

Bu çalışma, eğitim bağlamında görsel kültürü inceleme girişimi çabasıdır. Daha spesifik olarak, kavramın sınırlandırılmasına odaklanır ve onu özellikle ilginç ve iyi çalışılmış bir mesele olan iki dillilik meselesine kadar genişletir. Bu nedenle iki dillilik ve görsel kültür tanımlandıktan sonra bu konular arasında bağlantı kurulurken, bu ilişkiden yola çıkılarak bir vaka çalışması yapılmıştır. Vaka çalışması, Batı Trakya'daki Müslüman azınlığı ve görsel kültür yardımıyla iki dilliliğin öğretilme şeklini ilgilendirmektedir. Son olarak, bu çalışmanın sonuçları sunulmaktadır.The present paper is an attempt to study visual culture in the context of education. More specifically, it focuses on the delimitation of the concept and extends it to a particularly interesting and well-studied issue, that of bilingualism. Therefore, after the definition of bilingualism and visual culture, a connection is made between these issues, while, based on this correlation, a case study is carried out. The case study concerns the Muslim minority in Thrace, and the way bilingualism is taught with the help of visual culture. Finally, the conclusions of this study are presented

COVID-19 Era Requires Urgent Integration of Virtual Reality Simulations in Medical Education

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to cause an unprecedented level of disruption acrossevery part of the globe. This disruption detrimentally affects the field of medical education;in particular, anatomical, surgical and clinical training, all which require hands-on experience.On the other hand, the pandemic not only brings new challenges in medical education butalso opportunities for testing the validity of our old education paradigms and for developingthe ability to embrace a rapid pace of change in better integrating new technologies in themedical curriculum. We contend that the future of medical education lies in the successfuluse of VR and similar technologies in medical education. Even though this does not mean itcan fully replace hands-on training, at present it seems to be the best way possible to support modern medical education in times of limited physical interaction, such as pandemics.However, future studies with robust, comprehensive and culture specific designs are clearlynecessary in order to determine the value and feasibility of this approach.</p
