    Methodology for social integration for youth people with school failure. New specific methodologies contexts

    URL del artículo en la web de la Revista: https://www.upo.es/revistas/index.php/IJERI/article/view/2391El presente artículo expone el trabajo de la investigación llevada a cabo en cinco centros de Formación Profesional Ocupacional pertenecientes a cuatro organizaciones no gubernamentales de Sevilla que trabajan por la inserción socio-laboral de jóvenes en exclusión social. El objetivo principal de la investigación fue comprobar la efectividad de una nueva metodología adaptada con jóvenes en riesgo de exclusión y con fracaso escolar para superar los efectos negativos que dicho fracaso les ha ocasionado, tanto a nivel académico como personal. Las técnicas utilizadas fueron la encuesta y la entrevista, aplicadas a una muestra compuesta por 96 alumnos y por 18 profesionales. La hipótesis inicial de la investigación versó sobre los jóvenes que fracasan y abandonan los estudios con marcadas carencias y otras secuelas negativas, y cómo pueden llegar a superarlas si disponen de una nueva oportunidad de formación que contemple las necesidades específicas de este alumnado. Entre los resultados obtenidos resaltan que los centros estudiados disponen de una metodología de formación específica y experimentada que permite ayudar a estos jóvenes a superar los déficits y secuelas que les ha producido el fracaso escolar, consiguiendo la inserción social a través del empleo.This paper presents the research work carried out in five occupational training centers from four NGOs working in Seville for the social inclusion of young people in social exclusion. Goal: Test the effectiveness of new methodology adapted to young people at risk of exclusion and school failure to overcome the negative effects that such failure has caused them, both academically and personally. The techniques used were the survey and interview, applied to a sample of 96 students and 18 professionals. Initial hypothesis: Young people who fail and drop out with marked deficiencies and other negative consequences may come to overcome if they have a new opportunity for training that addresses the specific needs of these students.     Benchmarking the performance of a low-cost Magnetic Resonance Control System at multiple sites in the open MaRCoS community

    Purpose: To describe the current properties and capabilities of an open-source hardware and software package that is being developed by many sites internationally with the aim of providing an inexpensive yet flexible platform for low-cost MRI. Methods: This paper describes three different setups from 50 to 360 mT in different settings, all of which used the MaRCoS console for acquiring data, and different types of software interfaces (custom-built GUI or PulSeq overlay) to acquire the data. Results: Images are presented from both phantoms and in vivo from healthy volunteers to demonstrate the image quality that can be obtained from the MaRCoS hardware/software interfaced to different low-field magnets. Conclusions: The results presented here show that a number of different sequences commonly used in the clinic can be programmed into an open-source system relatively quickly and easily, and can produce good quality images even at this early stage of development.     Las prácticas de empresa para la inserción sociolaboral de jóvenes con fracaso escolar

    This work is based on the needs of young people who have experienced school failure for work opportunities, and the essential role that the company has in providing such opportunities via enterprise internships. Our initial hypothesis is: a higher level of social and professional integration for young people who are at risk or who are experiencing social exclusion and, therefore, are facing a high level of school failure, is possible if the training includes enterprise internship along with a �business mentor� component. The methodology for this research included 93 questionaire replies from students and 15 interviews with professionals, job sourcing specialists, and employers. Conclusion: Enterprise internship favours professional integration, but it also provides students with multiple competencies that increase their employability and help them overcome their social and professional disadvantages.El presente trabajo parte de la necesidad y el papel esencial que la empresa tiene como insertora de jóvenes que provienen del fracaso escolar. La hipótesis inicial: es posible mayor nivel de inserción sociolaboral si la metodología utilizada en la formación de los jóvenes en riesgo o situación de exclusión social y con fracaso escolar extremo incluye las prácticas de empresa y el acompañamiento de un insertor laboral. Metodología: 93 cuestionarios a jóvenes y 15 entrevistas a profesionales, insertores y empleadores.     Trabajo presentado en el XVI Seminario Ibérico de Química Marina, celebrado en Cádiz del 24 al 26 de enero de 2012.En este trabajo se pretende responder a cuestiones clave para el desarrollo y optimización de los cultivos acuícolas en el entorno del Parque Natural Bahía de Cádiz, sus relaciones con la actividad antrópica, y el estrés ecológico que puede derivar de determinadas actuaciones esporádicas o accidentales en zonas de cultivo. Durante 2 ciclos de producción de doradas (Sparus aurata), coincidiendo con el desarrollo de actividades de fomento próximas a las salinas de cultivo, se realizó un seguimiento en la calidad del ecosistema mediante el estudio analítico (detergentes, metales, etc.) y físico-químico (nitritos, nitratos, fosfatos, amonio) del agua, y las respuestas de biomarcadores celulares de estrés y/o contaminación (citocromo P-450/CYPIA, metalotioneinas/MTs) e histopatología en los principales órganos diana. Las perturbaciones medio-ambientales (detergentes, metales, sólidos en suspensión, etc.) favorecen procesos de estrés fisiológico y la aparición de especies parasitarias oportunistas en las especies cultivadas, mayoritariamente protozoos ciliados y dinoflagelados de ciclo directo. Durante el periodo de estudio se observaron episodios de mortandad importantes e incremento de epizootias parasitarias en general, y protozoosis en particular (Cryptocaryon irritans y Amyloodinium ocellatum), condicionados por la calidad del ecosistema (sedimento-agua). Los protozoos ectoparásitos de ciclo directo son adecuados bioindicadores de la salud del ecosistema y el impacto antrópico. La presencia de contaminantes inorgánicos y orgánicos en las salinas de la Bahía de Cádiz pueden ser responsables de la inducción de MTs y CYP1A en hígado y branquias. El cese de las actuaciones antrópicas, en este caso relacionadas con el acondicionamiento de tramos de vía férrea en la zona, conlleva la recuperación gradual y progresiva del ecosistema, y salud y bienestar de la biota acuática.Peer reviewe

    Portable magnetic resonance imaging of patients indoors, outdoors and at home

    [EN] Mobile medical imaging devices are invaluable for clinical diagnostic purposes both in and outside healthcare institutions. Among the various imaging modalities, only a few are readily portable. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), the gold standard for numerous healthcare conditions, does not traditionally belong to this group. Recently, low-field MRI technology companies have demonstrated the first decisive steps towards portability within medical facilities and vehicles. However, these scanners' weight and dimensions are incompatible with more demanding use cases such as in remote and developing regions, sports facilities and events, medical and military camps, or home healthcare. Here we present in vivo images taken with a light, small footprint, low-field extremity MRI scanner outside the controlled environment provided by medical facilities. To demonstrate the true portability of the system and benchmark its performance in various relevant scenarios, we have acquired images of a volunteer's knee in: (i) an MRI physics laboratory; (ii) an office room; (iii) outside a campus building, connected to a nearby power outlet; (iv) in open air, powered from a small fuel-based generator; and (v) at the volunteer's home. All images have been acquired within clinically viable times, and signal-to-noise ratios and tissue contrast suffice for 2D and 3D reconstructions with diagnostic value. Furthermore, the volunteer carries a fixation metallic implant screwed to the femur, which leads to strong artifacts in standard clinical systems but appears sharp in our low-field acquisitions. Altogether, this work opens a path towards highly accessible MRI under circumstances previously unrealistic.This work was supported by the Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovacion of Spain through research grant PID2019-111436RB-C21.
