    Market capitalization shock effects on open innovation models in e-commerce: Golden cut q-rung orthopair fuzzy multicriteria decision-making analysis

    This research paper analyzes revenue trends in e-commerce, a sector with an annual sales volume of more than 340 billion dollars. The article evaluates, despite a scarcity of data, the effects on e-commerce development of the ubiquitous lockdowns and restriction measures introduced by most countries during the pandemic period. The analysis covers monthly data from January 1996 to February 2021. The research paper analyzes relative changes in the original time series through the autocorrelation function. The objects of this analysis are Amazon and Alibaba, as they are benchmarks in the e-commerce industry. This paper tests the shock effect on the e-commerce companies Alibaba in China and Amazon in the USA, concluding that it is weaker for companies with small market capitalizations. As a result, the effect on estimated e-trade volume in the USA was approximately 35% in 2020. Another evaluation considers fuzzy decision-making methodology. For this purpose, balanced scorecard-based open financial innovation models for the e-commerce industry are weighted with multistepwise weight assessment ratio analysis based on q-rung orthopair fuzzy sets and the golden cut. Within this framework, a detailed analysis of competitors should be made. The paper proves that this situation positively affects the development of successful financial innovation models for the e-commerce industry.     Numerical investigation on burning stability of the coal-dust methane-air mixture in a recuperative burner

    The paper is devoted to numerical investigation on combustion singularities of the bi-dispersed coal-dust methane-air mixture in a slot recuperative burner. The aim of the research is to determine the stable combustion conditions of the methane-air mixture depending on the fuel flow rate at the inlet of the burner and on the parameters of the mixture (the particle size and the mass concentration of the coal particles, the percentage composition of inert particles and the methane volume content). The problem was solved by finite difference method.     Oil Price Predictors: Machine Learning Approach

    The paper proposes a machine-learning approach to predict oil price. Market participants can forecast prices using such factors as: US key rate, US dollar index, S&P500 index, VIX index, US consumer price index. After analyzing the results and comparing the accuracy of the model first, we can conclude that oil prices in 2019-2022 will have a slight upward trend and will generally be stable. At the time of the fall in June 2012 the  price of Brent fell to a minimum of 17 months. The reason for this was the weak demand for oil futures, which was caused by poor data on the state of the US labor market.     The adventive species community changes in the Cheboksary reservoir during 2001-2021

    Generally publications devoted to invasive fish species in the Volga-Kama cascade of reservoirs represents relative indicators and do not provide data on the abundance, numbers and invasive communities’ single species dynamics. It does not allow providing a correct assessment of population’s state and changes in the nonindigenous species composition. In this work, changes in the abundance and species structure of the Cheboksary reservoir’s invasive fish community during 2001-2021 were estimated. The total fish count was determined on data of active fishing gears catches and precise reservoir area. Differentiation into mass, widespread and relatively numerous and locally found with a small average abundance species was noted. A decrease in the species evenness of the invasive community was recorded in consequence of the Black Sea-Caspian sprat Clupeonella cultriventris (Nordmann, 1840) and the round goby Neogobius melanostomus (Pallas, 1814) domination rise. The Black Sea-Caspian sprat and the round goby put together for 98.7% of the total number of invasive fish in the current period. Due to this two dominant species there is a tendency to increase the relative abundance of invasive fish species in the reservoir up to 561 unit/ha despite a significant decrease in the abundance of some other invaders

    In a recent paper [Gorshkov et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 98, 123601 (2007)] and in the two preceding papers [Gorshkov et al., Phys. Rev. A 76, 033804 (2007); 76, 033805 (2007)], we used a universal physical picture to optimize and demonstrate equivalence between a wide range of techniques for storage and retrieval of photon wave packets in homogeneously broadened Lambda-type atomic media, including the adiabatic reduction of the photon group velocity, pulse-propagation control via off-resonant Raman techniques, and photon-echo-based techniques. In the present paper, we generalize this treatment to include inhomogeneous broadening. In particular, we consider the case of Doppler-broadened atoms and assume that there is a negligible difference between the Doppler shifts of the two optical transitions. In this situation, we show that, at high enough optical depth, all atoms contribute coherently to the storage process as if the medium were homogeneously broadened. We also discuss the effects of inhomogeneous broadening in solid state samples. In this context, we discuss the advantages and limitations of reversing the inhomogeneous broadening during the storage time, as well as suggest a way for achieving high efficiencies with a nonreversible inhomogeneous profile.Comment: 15 pages, 8 figures.     Permalloy-Based Thin Film Structures: Magnetic Properties and the Giant Magnetoimpedance Effect in the Temperature Range Important for Biomedical Applications

    Permalloy-based thin film structures are excellent materials for sensor applications. Temperature dependencies of the magnetic properties and giant magneto-impedance (GMI) were studied for Fe19Ni81-based multilayered structures obtained by the ion-plasma sputtering technique. Selected temperature interval of 25 degrees C to 50 degrees C corresponds to the temperature range of functionality of many devices, including magnetic biosensors. A (Cu/FeNi)(5)/Cu/(Cu/FeNi)(5) multilayered structure with well-defined traverse magnetic anisotropy showed an increase in the GMI ratio for the total impedance and its real part with temperature increased. The maximum of the GMI of the total impedance ratio Delta Z/Z = 56% was observed at a frequency of 80 MHz, with a sensitivity of 18%/Oe, and the maximum GMI of the real part Delta R/R = 170% at a frequency of 10 MHz, with a sensitivity of 46%/Oe. As the magnetization and direct current electrical resistance vary very little with the temperature, the most probable mechanism of the unexpected increase of the GMI sensitivity is the stress relaxation mechanism associated with magnetoelastic anisotropy.This work was supported in part by the Russian Foundation for Basic Research under grants mol nr no. 16-32-50054 and by the ELKARTEK grant KK-2016/00030 of the Basque Country Government

    Photon storage in Lambda-type optically dense atomic media. I. Cavity model

    In a recent paper [Gorshkov et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 98, 123601 (2007)], we used a universal physical picture to optimize and demonstrate equivalence between a wide range of techniques for storage and retrieval of photon wave packets in Lambda-type atomic media in free space, including the adiabatic reduction of the photon group velocity, pulse-propagation control via off-resonant Raman techniques, and photon-echo-based techniques. In the present paper, we perform the same analysis for the cavity model. In particular, we show that the retrieval efficiency is equal to C/(1+C) independent of the retrieval technique, where C is the cooperativity parameter. We also derive the optimal strategy for storage and, in particular, demonstrate that at any detuning one can store, with the optimal efficiency of C/(1+C), any smooth input mode satisfying T C gamma >> 1 and a certain class of resonant input modes satisfying T C gamma ~ 1, where T is the duration of the input mode and 2 gamma is the transition linewidth. In the two subsequent papers of the series, we present the full analysis of the free-space model and discuss the effects of inhomogeneous broadening on photon storage.Comment: 16 pages, 2 figures.     Preliminary study of anti-CD40 and ubiquitin proteasome antibodies in primary podocytopaties

    BackgroundMinimal change disease and focal segmental glomerulosclerosis are primary podocytopathies that are clinically presented in adults presenting with severe nephrotic syndrome. The pathogenesis of these diseases is not clear and many questions remain to be answered. A new concept about the role of changes in the antigenic determinant of podocytes and the production of anti-podocyte antibodies that cause podocyte damage is being developed. The aim of the study is to evaluate the levels of anti-CD40 and anti-ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase L1 (anti-UCH-L1) antibodies in patients with podocytopathies in comparison with other glomerulopathies.MethodsOne hundred and six patients with glomerulopathy and 11 healthy subjects took part in the study. A histological study revealed primary FSGS in 35 patients (genetic cases of FSGS and secondary FSGS in the absence of NS were excluded), 15 had MCD, 21 - MN, 13 - MPGN, 22 patients - IgA nephropathy. The effect of steroid therapy was evaluated in patients with podocytopathies (FSGS and MCD). The serum levels of anti-UCH-L1 and anti-CD40 antibodies were measured by ELISA before steroid treatment.ResultsThe levels of anti-UCH-L1 antibodies were significantly higher in MCD patients and anti-CD40 antibodies were higher in MCD and FSGS than in the control group and other groups of glomerulopathies. In addition, the level of anti-UCH-L1 antibodies was higher in patients with steroid-sensitive FSGS and MCD, and anti-CD40 antibodies were lower than in patients with steroid-resistant FSGS. An increase in anti-UCH-L1 antibody levels above 6.44 ng/mL may be a prognostic factor of steroid-sensitivity. The ROC curve (AUC = 0.875 [95% CI 0.718–0.999]) for response to therapy showed a sensitivity of 75% and specificity of 87.5%.ConclusionAn increase in the level of anti-UCH-L1 antibodies is specific for steroid-sensitive FSGS and MCD, while an increase in anti-CD40 antibodies – for steroid-resistant FSGS, compared with other glomerulopathies. It suggests that these antibodies could be a potential factor for differential diagnosis and treatment prognosis
