    This article is intended to reflect upon ways to support and help families when dealing with difficult situations so that they can continue to provide their children with protection and education.When families face events causing stress and troubles, the usual model of family functioning might prove to be ineffective. In this case families need to activate problem-solving processes, rearrange their relationships and renegotiate roles. In difficult situations, family vulnerability can be reduced by interventions based on a pedagogical approach aiming to reinforce coping abilities, discover and exploit actual resources within the family, promote the development of relational and reflective competencies.Il contributo vuole essere uno spunto di riflessione sulle condizioni che possono incrementare le capacità dei nuclei familiari in situazioni di criticità di svolgere adeguatamente le funzioni protettive ed educative. Quando le abituali modalità di funzionamento risultano inadatte per far fronte a eventi che provocano situazioni di squilibrio, le famiglie devono attivare processi di problem solving, ridefinire la riorganizzazione delle relazioni ed operare processi di negoziazioneper ridefinire le funzioni ed i ruoli. In questi delicati momenti, la vulnerabilità dei sistemi familiari può essere ridotta anche da interventi educativi orientati da un approccio pedagogico finalizzato a rafforzare le capacità di coping, a fare leva sulle risorse esistenti nel sistema, a rinforzare le potenzialità latenti, a stimolare l’acquisizione di nuove competenze relazionali e strumenti interpretativi, a sostenere la genitorialità riflessiva

    Le pratiche di Horticultural Therapy (H.T.) che si realizzano in giardini o spazi verdi appositamente progettati si avvalgono del contributo dei saperi specifici delle scienze mediche, naturali, psicologiche e educative. Dal punto di vista epistemologico, l’approccio interdisciplinare è un dispositivo necessario per cogliere i nessi tra i saperi specialistici e attivare le sinergie per trovare efficaci risposte ai problemi. L’approccio sistemico e il paradigma biopsicosociale che caratterizzano i progetti di H.T evidenziano le molte prospettive di contatto tra le scienze biomediche e quelle dell’educazione. Un esempio pratico di come la collaborazione tra professionisti di diversi ambiti possa produrre pratiche virtuose di terapia, ricerca e valutazione è il progetto «Green empowerment» realizzato presso l’IRCCS2 Ospedale Neuroriabilitativo S. Camillo, sito al Lido di Venezia, che propone partiche di H.T. Partendo da tale esperienza, in questo lavoro si cercherà di mettere a fuoco come, e con quali specificità, si possa delineare il contributo della pedagogia alle pratiche terapeutiche «in natura» (nature-based) e, nello specifico, a quelle H.T. In particolare, attraverso l’analisi di alcuni concetti chiave, saranno evidenziati i nessi e le differenze che caratterizzano gli interventi terapeutici e quelli educativi svolti attraverso esperienze nature-based, con l’obiettivo di individuare le buone pratiche che possono incrementare la loro sinergia

    open3noThis paper studies Parenting WhatsApp Groups (PWGs) as interactional loci parents can join to be involved in their children’s academic life, building on the quantitative and qualitative results of an online survey administered to a sample of 302 Italian parents recruited through convenience sampling. First, PWGs are positioned within the broader literature on offline/online parent involvement, parents’ peer interaction via social media, and technological peculiarities of WhatsApp. Second, quantitative results from a binary logistic regression are reported to explore possible predictors of PWG’s membership among our sample, as well as quantitative and qualitative findings investigating parents’ perceptions/opinions of and experience with PWGs.     L’impatto dell’emergenza pandemica in ambito familiare e scolastico : riflessioni su nuove prospettive di alleanza educativa

    L’articolo propone riflessioni che si collocano nell’ambito della pedagogia delle famiglie, degli studi sull’alleanza educativa, della pedagogia dell’emergenza facendo riferimento a ricerche condotte in Italia durante il periodo pandemicoper avere un quadro, seppur sintetico, delle esperienze vissute durante l’emergenza pandemica da tre soggetti cruciali:i genitori, il personale educativo, il mondo dell’infanzia e dell’adolescenza. Le conclusioni indicano chiaramente la necessità di considerare l’alleanza educativa con le famiglie come un processo complesso che deve, necessariamente, in-novarsi sull’onda delle mutate delle condizioni di contesto: il lavoro pedagogico con le famiglie, oggi come mai, dovrebbe valorizzare la sua natura resiliente, riflessiva e innovativa e ridurre al massimo rigidità, scollamento dalla realtà e rischi di esclusione sociale.The article proposes reflections in the field of family pedagogy, studies on the educational alliance, and emergencypedagogy, and will refer to research conducted in Italy during the pandemic period to have a picture, although a syn-thetic one of the experiences during the pandemic emergency of three crucial subjects: parents, educational personnel,childhood and adolescence.     The Impact of Covid-19 Pandemic on Italian Nature-Based Programs in the Educational, Therapeutic, Training and Leisure Areas

    In these times of global crisis caused by Covid-19, there is an urgent need to address the topic of nature-based experiences in education: the pandemic has strongly highlighted both the interdependence between human beings and nature, and the need for mending the dichotomic vision that keeps them separate. Experiential education in natural contexts within an ecological framework might have a strategic role in this crucial period to develop anthropologic, civic, and dialogic conscience (Morin, 2001). Through this study, CEFEO Research Center had the objective of investigating the socio-economic impact of Covid-19 on Italian nature-based programs in the educational, therapeutic, training, and leisure areas. From 28 May to 19 June 2020, an online questionnaire was distributed with the purpose of understanding the socio-economic impact of the pandemic on nature-based programs during the lockdown period and during the period of first reopening, and the related needs and new opportunities for the future. The results highlight a paradox: the Covid-19 crisis has caused more problems for a sector which was already suffering from a lack of funding and of social and institutional acknowledgment. Many agencies working in the field lost months of income and numerous working days, and they are uncertain about the future: they are having difficulties surviving in a moment when we need them more

    Famiglie pakistane in Italia durante il Covid-19: un’indagine su problemi, bisogni e risorse

    This paper reports on a survey which involved 152 parents (90% fathers) of Pakistani origin living in Italy. The aim of this research was to understand the impact of Covid-19 on these families and, especially, on their wellbeing, on managing domestic and school life, on resources and protective factors. Another goal was to involve a target of parents who are quite absent in current similar studies in Italy. In spite of its limitations, this quantitative study offers the specific point of view of Pakistani immigrant fathers who, despite experiencing a strong crisis, show themselves to be able to draw from personal, religious and relational resources, mainly connected to their culture of origin.Il presente lavoro espone i risultati di una indagine, svolta tramite un questionario, che ha coinvolto 152 genitori di origine pakistana residenti in Italia (90% padri). L’obiettivo della ricerca era di comprendere l’impatto del Covid-19 sui suddetti nuclei familiari e, soprattutto, sul livello di benessere dei componenti, sulla gestione della vita domestica e scolastica, e su risorse e fattori protettivi. Altro obiettivo è stato quello di coinvolgere un target di genitori pressoché assente da ricerche e studi analoghi, attualmente disponibili in Italia. Questa indagine quantitativa, seppur con i limiti che verranno descritti, offre il punto di vista specifico di padri immigrati pakistani che, pur riportando una situazione di crisi piuttosto accentuata, dimostrano di attingere a risorse personali, religiose e relazionali prevalentemente legate alla cultura di origine

    Endocannabinoid-related compounds in gastrointestinal diseases

    The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is an endogenous signalling pathway involved in the control of several gastrointestinal (GI) functions at both peripheral and central levels. In recent years, it has become apparent that the ECS is pivotal in the regulation of GI motility, secretion and sensitivity, but endocannabinoids (ECs) are also involved in the regulation of intestinal inflammation and mucosal barrier permeability, suggesting their role in the pathophysiology of both functional and organic GI disorders. Genetic studies in patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or inflammatory bowel disease have indeed shown significant associations with polymorphisms or mutation in genes encoding for cannabinoid receptor or enzyme responsible for their catabolism, respectively. Furthermore, ongoing clinical trials are testing EC agonists/antagonists in the achievement of symptomatic relief from a number of GI symptoms. Despite this evidence, there is a lack of supportive RCTs and relevant data in human beings, and hence, the possible therapeutic application of these compounds is raising ethical, political and economic concerns. More recently, the identification of several EC-like compounds able to modulate ECS function without the typical central side effects of cannabinomimetics has paved the way for emerging peripherally acting drugs. This review summarizes the possible mechanisms linking the ECS to GI disorders and describes the most recent advances in the manipulation of the ECS in the treatment of GI diseases

    National and international literature on nature-based programs in the educational,training, therapeutic and leisure areas reveals a lack of homogeneityin using the different terminologies: the various terms are used with differentmeanings, both by practitioners and by scholars. The present work is theconceptual premise of a research which outlined a quantitative and qualitativemapping of the Italian organizations that use nature-based approachesand methodologies. This paper provides both a literature review of the theoreticalroots which support nature-based experiences, and a reconnaissanceof the national situation regarding the use of terminology and thedifferentiation in the various specific practical fields. In order to properly introducethe mapping research, this work proposes a conceptual organizationdefining four macro-areas of the nature-based sector. This categorization,which is organized around some indicators, aims to be flexible and to havepermeable borders; and it has the goal to help orienting in the complexframework of the numerous nature-based proposals in Italy.Dall’analisi della letteratura nazionale e internazionale sulle pratiche naturebasedin ambito educativo, formativo, terapeutico e ricreativo, emerge disomogeneitànell’utilizzo delle diverse terminologie, utilizzate con significatitalvolta molto diversi sia dagli stessi soggetti che se ne occupano, sia daglistudiosi che ne teorizzano e concettualizzano le pratiche. Il presente contributoè la premessa concettuale di una ricerca* effettuata per disegnare unamappa quantitativa e qualitativa delle realtà che operano in Italia utilizzandometodologie e approcci nature-based e propone sia una rassegna delle radiciteoriche che sostengono le esperienze nature-based, sia una ricostruzionedel panorama nazionale in merito all’utilizzo della terminologia e alla differenziazionenei diversi ambiti specifici di operatività.
