Study on Improvement of Cooling Energy and Thermal Comfort of Klinik Pergigian Batu Gajah
Batu Gajah dental clinic was built in early 70’s where it provides services to the residents nearby. Recently, the patients and staff of the clinic complained about the level of comfort in the waiting area of the clinic whichwas said as very warm and uncomfortable. Besides, the monthly electricity consumption of the clinic increased significantly recently. Therefore, a study on the cooling energy of the clinic is required in order to identify rooms for improvements in thermal comfort and its energy consumption. The objective of the project is to studyand analyze the building thermal performance and various factors towards energy saving in the clinic. In this project, the study involvescalculations of the dental clinic’s cooling energy and measurement of the temperature at various points in the waiting area during various conditions. Interviews are conducted with patients at the waiting area, and it is found that among of them prefer to wait outside the clinic due to the hot condition in the indoor area. Detailed analysis on the current trend of operation isconducted to identify potential energy conservation measures. At the end of this report, several ideas are proposed

Posterior reversible leukoencephalopathy syndrome in children with hematologic disorders
Objective: Posterior reversible leukoencephalopathy syndrome (PRES) is characterized by headache, altered mental status, cortical blindness, and seizures associated with neuroradiological findings. It involves predominantly white matter of the parieto-occipital lobes. Several medications and disorders play a role in the etiology of PRES. In this study, we aimed to show how the prognosis of PRES in hematological diseases of childhood might be according to the etiological factors.Materials and Methods: Here, we report PRES in six patients, aged 4 to 14 years, with diagnoses of leukemia and aplastic anemia. Results: Suggested causes in our patients were chemotherapeutics, hypertension, infection and antimicrobial drug administration, tumor lysis syndrome, acute renal failure and hemodialysis, immunosuppressive drug administration, and hypomagnesemia. One of the patients died of sepsis, renal failure and pulmonary hemorrhage and another died of relapse after total recovery from PRES. The other four patients are under follow-up without problems. Conclusion: We suggest that PRES can recover fully with early diagnosis and treatment whereas it can show poor prognosis depending on the etiology
Design, Analysis and Fabrication of Space Frame Chassis for Amphibious Hybrid Vehicle
This paper explain the designed and development of space frame chassis for amphibious hybrid vehicle (AHV). Catia V5 R20 software is used for the designing and analysing before constructing the space frame chassis structure. Once the results of the analysis satisfied, the fabrication process is implemented. Hand lay-up method applied in the fabrication process of the chassis with the combination of bark wood, fibre glass E-class and epoxy resin. The general process involves in the fabrication process are cutting, drilling and fittings The chassis then assemble with brake system, drive shaft system, steering linkage system, suspension system and engine system. Good designs for manufacturing (DFM) practices have been implemented to assemble the chassis with all other AHV components

UTeM`s Amphibious Hybrid Vehicle: Ride and Handling Analysis
The vehicle ride and handling analysis is one of the important aspects in vehicle dynamics. This paper takes a model of amphibious vehicle to establish the exact virtual behavior of vehicle’s riding and handling base on the virtual design parameter. This vehicle can operate both on
ground and water, therefore the analysis model is developed using seven degree of freedom model for ground operation and one degree of freedom model for water operation. The seven DOF are moment of roll, pitch, yaw and all four tires motion while the rest is buoyancy. Therefore, the ability and limitation of the vehicle demonstrate the behavior of unexpected case happened. These facts in turn to be used to improve the ride and handling level during acceleration, deceleration, cornering and step steer. The model also capable to function on the water where as the design of the
body work considers the buoyancy concept for stability on every condition of wave surface. The analysis of buoyancy and stability for this model shows the vehicle ability to perform in the state of equilibrium condition under heeling and capsizing on water surface
Clinically abnormal case with paternally derived partial trisomy 8p23.3 to 8p12 including maternal isodisomy of 8p23.3: a case report

Abstract

Background

Because of low copy repeats (LCRs) and common inversion polymorphisms, the human chromosome 8p is prone to a number of recurrent rearrangements. Each of these rearrangements is associated with several phenotypic features. We report on a patient with various clinical malformations and developmental delay in connection with an inverted duplication event, involving chromosome 8p.

Methods

Chromosome analysis, multicolor banding analysis (MCB), extensive fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) analysis and microsatellite analysis were performed.

Results

The karyotype was characterized in detail by multicolor banding (MCB), subtelomeric and centromere-near probes as 46,XY,dup(8)(pter->p23.3::p12->p23.3::p23.3->qter). Additionally, microsatellite analysis revealed the paternal origin of the duplication and gave hints for a mitotic recombination involving about 6 MB in 8p23.3.

Conclusion

A comprehensive analysis of the derivative chromosome 8 suggested a previously unreported mechanism of formation, which included an early mitotic aberration leading to maternal isodisomy, followed by an inverted duplication of the 8p12p23.3 region.</p
Mitral valve prolapse associated with celiac artery stenosis: a new ultrasonographic syndrome?
BACKGROUND: Celiac artery stenosis (CAS) may be caused by atherosclerotic degeneration or compression exerted by the arched ligament of the diaphragm. Mitral valve prolapse (MVP) is the most common valvular disorder. There are no reports on an association between CAS and MVP. METHODS: 1560 (41%) out of 3780 consecutive patients undergoing echocardiographic assessment of MVP, had Doppler sonography of the celiac tract to detect CAS. RESULTS: CAS was found in 57 (3.7%) subjects (23 males and 34 females) none of whom complained of symptoms related to visceral ischemia. MVP was observed in 47 (82.4%) subjects with and 118 (7.9%) without CAS (p < 0.001). The agreement between MVP and CAS was 39% (95% CI 32–49%). PSV (Peak Systolic Velocity) was the only predictor of CAS in MPV patients (OR 0.24, 95% CI 0.08–0.69) as selected in a multivariate logistic model. CONCLUSION: CAS and MVP seem to be significantly associated in patients undergoing consecutive ultrasonographic screening
