Duality and Dimensional Reduction of 5D BF Theory

A planar boundary introduced \`a la Symanzik in the 5D topological BF theory, with the only requirement of locality and power counting, allows to uniquely determine a gauge invariant, non topological 4D Lagrangian. The boundary condition on the bulk fields is interpreted as a duality relation for the boundary fields, in analogy with the fermionization duality which holds in the 3D case. This suggests that the 4D degrees of freedom might be fermionic, although starting from a bosonic bulk theory. The method we propose to dimensionally reduce a Quantum Field Theory and to identify the resulting degrees of freedom can be applied to a generic spacetime dimension.Comment: 13 pages, plain LaTeX, version to appear on EPJ

Cerebrospinal fluid fistulas after iliosacral screw removal in post-traumatic pseudomeningocele

Sacral fractures are rare but severe injuries. They are often associated with neurological impairment and pelvic instability. We present a case of a 28-year-old woman who sustained an H-type fracture of the sacrum with complete cauda equina syndrome treated with cauda equina decompression and pelvic percutaneous stabilization with an iliosacral screw. Two years after she underwent screw removal, but complained of back and nape pain after the operation. A lumbosacral MRI showed the presence of a lytic lesion involving the S1 and S2 bodies that was judged to be a pseudomeningocele leaning against the sacral screw hole and cerebrospinal fluid fistulas through this. To our knowledge, this is the first case of such a complication after sacral screw removal to be reported

Design Thinking e Técnica Delphi na elaboração de um livro digital educativo para unidades de alimentação e nutrição

Introdução: As queimaduras são um acidente recorrente em ambientes de trabalho, como em Unidades de Alimentação e Nutrição (UANs), e estão entre as principais causas de traumas em adultos. Programas de Segurança do Trabalho visam conscientizar colaboradores sobre prevenção de acidentes. Objetivo: Desenvolver e validar livro digital sobre cuidados em segurança do trabalho para prevenção de queimaduras em UANs. Método: Utilizou-se a metodologia Design Thinking com as fases de descobrir, definir, desenvolver e entregar. Realizou-se busca de anterioridade nas bases de dados LILACS, SciELO, Medline e Google® com foco em livros e manuais sobre prevenção de queimaduras e aplicação de treinamentos e revisão da literatura com os  descritores: queimaduras, educação em saúde, cicatrização, saúde do trabalhador e prevenção de acidentes. A validação do conteúdo foi realizada por meio da Técnica Delphi. Resultados: O livro digital foi elaborado em 5 capítulos, contendo ilustrações educativas e linguagem acessível aos gestores de UANs. Obteve-se um índice de validação de conteúdo (IVC) maior que 0,90. Após registro do livro digital no ISBN, seguiu-se com a divulgação online. Conclusão: O livro digital “Queimaduras em Unidades de Alimentação e Nutrição – ensinando minha equipe a prevenir acidentes em ambiente laboral” foi desenvolvido e validado, podendo contribuir para a prevenção de queimaduras em UANs
