Fifty ovaries were collected from Karbala and Najaf butcheries for two seasons: the first season (August 2021) and the second season (January 2022). Moreover, collected follicles were divided according to their sizes into three groups (first group < 3 mm), (second group 3-5 mm), and (third group > 5mm) The results showed a significant increase (P โ‰ค 0.01) for protein, glucose, cholesterol, and sodium, and a significant increase (P โ‰ค 0.05) for calcium in the first season compared to the second season, and the significant increase was (P โ‰ค 0.05) for potassium in the second season compared to the first season. As for the follicles sizes the result exhibited, there were highly significant differences in the size of the follicles for the first group (< 3 mm ) Pโ‰ค0.01, as it reached in the first season 8 (32.00%) and in the second season 13 (52.00%) and also found highly significant differences in the size of the follicles for the second group (3-5 mm) 11 (44.00%) in the first season and 6 (24.00%) in the second season (Pโ‰ค0.01). for the follicles of the third group (> 5mm), there were no significant differences, as it reached 6 (24.00%) in the first season and 6 (24.00%) in the second season. The groups also differed significantly within the same season. The highly significant increase for the second group was (Pโ‰ค0.01) compared to the rest of the groups within the first season, while in the second season, the high significant increase was for the first group (Pโ‰ค0.01) compared to the rest of the groups

This study was aimed to detect different virulence genes that might be present in the Listeria monocytogenes. 50 clinical samples were gathered from patients with different sites like (stool, urine and blood). Though, only (22) isolates were contained L.monocytogenes using conventional and traditional techniques. Strains were isolated with the following approach 8 (36%), 6 (27%), and 8 (36%) from human intestine (stool), urine, and blood samples respectively

Correlation of Metabolic and Ionic Components of Follicular Fluid with Estrogen Concentration

This study was aimed to assess the correlation between the metabolic and ionic composition of ovarian follicular fluid and its relationship to the concentration of estrogen and prolactin hormones as the follicle size changes in the local female cows. Ovaries were collected (80 ovaries) from non- pregnant 40 adult females cow at Hilla slaughterhouse at Babil province. The gathered ovaries were transported to the laboratory within two hours. Follicular fluid was pulled from small (2-5 mm) follicles, medium (6-10 mm), and large (11-20 mm) follicles, then it stored at 5 ยฐ C until assayed. Follicular fluid samples were analyzed for metabolites composition of (cholesterol, total protein, and glucose), and ionic composition (calcium, phosphorus, copper, magnesium, zinc) ,and hormone concentration ( estrogen and prolactin). The results of the study showed that the total protein and glucose concentrations were increased significantly(p> 05.0) with increased of follicle size. The study also showed the calcium, copper, and phosphorus concentration were increased significantly(p> 05.0) with changes of follicular size, as well as the estrogen concentration was significantly increased (p > 05.0) With increased follicular size. A significantly (p> 05.0) correlation was found between both magnesium, zinc ions, and estrogen hormone

Effects of early spontaneous abortions (ESA) and latent toxoplasmosis on Interleukine-23 in women

Cytokines play an important role in intercellular communications, cell growth, differentiation, and immune system modulations. Some of these functions have crucial roles in pregnancy gaining or losing, especially those correlated with T helper 1, T helper 2, and T helper 17 cells. Several studies showed significant variations in Interleukine-23 (IL-23) with Toxoplasma infection. However, little is known about the regulations of this interleukin in the case of early spontaneous abortion (ESA) patients. The present study aimed to evaluate IL-23 to explain the effect of this cytokine on pregnancy gaining or losing with and without toxoplasma infections. Eighty-nine subjects were registered in the current study,16 Toxoplasma infected ESA women, 41 unknown ESA aborted women, 16 healthy pregnant women, and 16 healthy non-pregnant women served as control negative. Detections of anti-Toxoplasma IgG and IL-23 by immunoenzymatic assay (IFA and ELISA, respectively). A significant difference (P = > 0.05) was found in all subjected groups except between Toxoplasmosis ESA and unknown EAS women. The data showed a substantial increase in sera IL-23 in unknown ESA with mean and standard deviation (SD) (13.679ยฑ2.461) and Toxoplasma infected women with mean and SD (14.279ยฑ4.757) as compared with non-Pregnant women having mean and SD (5.824ยฑ1.040) and healthy pregnant women with mean and SD (17.273ยฑ6.418). Therefore, this considerable evidence may indicate a role of IL-23 in the development of pregnancy gaining or losing, especially those ESA women.
