Characterization of the Socioeconomic Conditions, Full Package, and Adoption of New Technologies of Wheat Crop at Irbid Governorate, Jordan
The study explored socio economic conditions of wheat farmers to evaluate the impacts of the introduction of the full package(FP) which contains zero tillage, new varieties of wheat seed, adding fertilizer, using the combine, and using herbicides. Partial budget was used to work out the cost and returns of adopting the full package. The principal method was the administration of a household questionnaire. The household questionnaire was designed to elicit basic numerical data on household structure, farm inputs and expenditures, crop production, wheat variety, farming method, and the strengths and opportunities of the new adopted technologies.was also used to provide a framework for potential solutions (opportunities) and threats, and analysis of the FP. Garrett ranking was applied to rank a set of factors in adopting the FP as perceived by the sample respondents based on certain criteria.A socio-economic questionnaire was designed to elicit basic numerical data. About 50 farmers were personally interviewed in Irbid governorate.Farmers were characterized by large number of family members and good education. The percentage of the male to female was nearly the same. Results showed that 48% of farmers have finished high school, and 34% have higher education.During 2012-2013 seasons, the participation of farmers in full package was very high. This is because adoption of improved crop management substantially increased farmer income. In other hands, the adoption of zero tillage is shown to increase steadily. Farmers started to gain awareness on the role of this system in achieving stability and higher profitability of wheat production. However, the adoption of this system could be further increased with the increase in availability of special driller’s equipment and farmer learning. About 32% of the sample adopted the full package, and 22% adopted the new verities of seeds.Garrett ranking showed that there are new techniques have been adopted by the farmers through the full package. Using seeders is one of the main newly adopted techniques as mentioned by 90% of farmers. Regarding to the use of improved variety, there were about 84% of farmers mentioned that they have planted the improved variety
Interpersonal goals and their relationships to relational interdependent self- construal and communal orientation among volunteer community service students
This study aims at investigating the relationship between interpersonal goals, relational interdependent self- construal and communal orientation among volunteer community service students at the University of Jordan. Participants are 320 volunteer community service students; 83.1%females and 16.9% males. The age ranged between (18-24) years. Participants are asked to fill out online self-report measures of interpersonal goals, relational interdependent self- construal and communal orientation. The results show that there is a statistically significant difference in communal orientation attributed to the interaction among compassionate goals, gender and college sections in favor of males in scientific colleges. The results also show that there is no statistically significant difference in relational interdependent self-construal attributed to the interaction among compassionate goals, gender and college sections. Finally, the results revealed high level of interpersonal goals, communal orientation and moderate level of relational interdependent self-construal

The study aimed to identify the degree to which the Public Relations and Media Department of the Public Security Directorate achieved the objectives of security awareness from the point of view of the Jordanian university youth. The study adopted the descriptive survey approach. The two researchers prepared a questionnaire to measure the degree to which the Public Relations and Media Department in the Public Security Directorate achieved the objectives of security awareness. The study population consisted of all students at the University of Jordan and Yarmouk University, and the study sample consisted of (822) male and female students, who were chosen in the easy-to-random way, and the results of the study showed that the degree to which the Public Relations and Media Department in the Public Security Directorate achieved the objectives of security awareness from the point of view of the Jordanian university youth came with a degree (High); The results revealed that there are statistically significant differences in the degree to which the Public Relations and Media Department at the Public Security Directorate has achieved the objectives of security awareness from the viewpoint of the Jordanian university youth due to the (gender) variable and came in favor of (females), and there are no statistically significant differences in the variable (university type). An Implemented Approach for Potentially Breast Cancer Detection Using Extracted Features and Artificial Neural Networks
Breast cancer (B-cancer) detection is still complex and challenging problem, and in that case, we propose and evaluate a four-step approach to segment and detect B-cancer disease. Studies show that relying on pure naked-eye observation of experts to detect such diseases can be prohibitively slow and inaccurate in some cases. Providing automatic, fast, and accurate image-processing-and artificial intelligence-based solutions for that task can be of great realistic significance. The presented approach itself scans the whole mammogram and performs filtering, segmentation, features extraction, and detection in a succession mode. The feasibility of the proposed approach was explored on 32 commonly virulent images, and the recognition rate achieved in the detection step is 100 %; further, the approach is able to give reliable results on distorted medical images, since the approach is subjected to a rectification step. Finally, this study is very effectual in decreasing mortality and increasing the quality of treatment of early onset of B-cancer

Special Education Teachers in Jordan: Trends and Issues
Although special education profession is not new in Jordan, the current research do not reveal many important demographic information about professionals working in the field, which is the goal of this study. 119 worked in the special education field were surveyed from all over Jordan. Results present many important demographic information. Moreover, results indicated high and relatively high levels of satisfaction with services provided for children with disabilities and job conditions. Additionally, professionals indicated source of support and frustration in their practice, which might affect retention and attrition rates in the field. Participants provided their future vision on career. Results were discussed and recommendations were made for educational authorities and professionals. Keywords: special education career, recruitment, retention, attrition, Jordan
Potential and impact study of amman high frequency speed bus, a case study
The current study proposes the utilization of solar panels to power high frequency speed buses like the Bus Rapid Transit in Am-man city. Based on Photo Voltaic technology, mounting PV solar panels system on the top of the track of the high frequency bus, ar-ranged at azimuth angle ranging between 0°- 90° with the best tilt angle measured 12°, along an actual unshaded track of 18 km (of the 25 km total pathway track), resulted in the generation of more than18 MWp (On Grid system). Such power is used not only to charge the bus and to operating facilities inside the city instead of the conven-tional ways as illustrated in the coming later
The influence of serum calcium and magnesium levels in the radiological evolution of knee osteoarthritis
Calcium and magnesium are minerals with important functions throughout the body. The deficiency has been associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and prostate cancer, and affects the skin and teeth. Some studies have associated it with osteoarthritis. Knee osteoarthritis is a degenerative pathology with a high prevalence that affects the knee joint, and prevention is necessary in the context of the lack of understanding of pathophysiology. The role of serum calcium and magnesium levels was considered in this regard. The study included a group of 371 hospitalized patients for unilateral or bilateral knee pain, of whom 326 patients had knee osteoarthritis and were the subject of the research. The risk factors such as age, gender, body mass index, weight status, and certain anatomical changes were analyzed, including the varus and valgus alignment. The results show the inverse relationship of Ca values with the radiological classification of knee osteoarthritis and the importance of risk factors such as age, gender, and obesity for the onset and progression of the pathology. Serum Mg values were not statistically significant in this study group
