Impact of Public Announcements on Stock Prices: Relation between Values of Stock Prices and the Price Changes in Lithuanian Stock Market

AbstractThe previous studies have shown that there is a relation between values of stock prices and the price changes caused by public announcements. Thus the aim of this paper is to examine if the respective relation can be observed in Lithuanian stock market and how this relation is affected by different categories and types of announcements. The research covers public announcements issued by companies listed in Vilnius Stock Exchange. Simplified version of event study methodology was used in this paper and average absolute and abnormal returns were computed. Most of the results in this paper are consistent with the previous studies and a negative correlation between the values of stock prices and the price changes caused by public announcements was estimated

Peculiarities of Social Competence of Future Specialists of Physical Education and Sports

The article reveals the peculiarities of social competence of future specialists of physical education and sports. To solve the objectives, the poll has been carried out. 263 student have been selected (135 future teachers of physical culture and 128 future coaches). Nicht alle Einschaltungen haben Entsprechungen zu den Komponenten der zusammengesetzten Sätze und zu den einzelnen Sätzen. Die Entsprechungen haben nur solche Einschaltungen, die aus den Wortformen gebildet sind, die als Prädikat auftreten können. Das sind die Formen der konjugierbaren und unpersönlichen Verben girdi, klausyk/-ite, manau/-ote, matau, sako..., atrodo, rodos(i), regis(i)...; der Infinitiv matyt(i), die Nominative der Substantive bėda, laimė, nelaimė, tiesa, vargas...; die Formen des Neutrums aišku, keista, suprantama, žinoma... Als einzelne Sätze können Wörter und Ausdrücke betrachtet werden, die der Form nach den Einschaltungen entsprechen: atvirkščiai, priešingai, maža to....Die Einschaltungen unterscheiden sich von den Komponenten des zusammengesetzten Satzes mit derselben Ausdruckskraft dadurch, dass sie Elemente sind, die keine grammatische Beziehung aufweisen, und deshalb nehmen sie im Satz freie Stelle ein. Die typische Position der Einschaltungen ist die in der Satzmitte. Den Satzanfang kann man als die Position betrachten, in der die Einschaltungen und die Komponente des zusammengesetzten Satzes – des Satzgefüges und des asyndetischen zusammengesetzten Satzes – gebraucht werden, die mit den Einschaltungen in Bezug auf den Ausdruck zusammenfallen. Besonders wichtig ist in dieser Position das Erstarren der Wortformen, die als Einschaltungen auftreten, und die Bedeutungsformierung der eigenartigen syntaktischen Einheit der Einschaltung. Diese Bedeutungsveränderung bestimmt, dass die als Einschaltung auftretende Wortform ihre syntaktischen Valenzeigenschaften verloren hat. Sie ist von der syntagmatischen Beziehung bereits unabhängig. Die Einschaltungen sind die freien Elemente des Satzes. Deshalb können sie keine Sätze und keine Satzäquivalente sein. Die Einschaltungen können aber parzelliert werden, d.h. sie können nur die äußere Form des Satzes annehmen

Savita įterpinių samprata Jono Balkevičiaus “Dabartinės lietuvių kalbos sintaksėje”

Jonas Balkevičius hat die Einschaltungen anders als bisher beschrieben. Zu der Zeit, als J. Balkevičius seine Syntax schrieb, wurden die Einschaltungen folgendermaßen betrachtet: Einerseits wurden sie in eine breite Gruppe der syntaktischen Erscheinungen einbezogen und diese Gruppe wurde als isolierte oder begleitende Satzteile bezeichnet, andererseits wurde die Konzeption der Einschaltungen reduziert und von den Einschaltungen wurden die Einfügungen abgetrennt. J. Balkevičius hat eine originelle Konzeption der Einschaltungen geschaffen. Der originellste Teil der breit verstandenen Einschaltungen sind Einschaltungen, die mit anderen Wörtern des Satzes grammatisch verbunden sind. Es wird eine hierarchische Einteilung dieser Einschaltungen angeführt, die sich auf logische und grammatische Kriterien stützt.Die Unterscheidung der mit dem Satz grammatisch verbundenen Einschaltuogen ermöglichte dem Autor nicht nur das Ordnen vieler durch die Intonation isolierter Satzglieder, sondern half auch die Gruppe der sich traditionell unterscheidenden Einschaltungen zu differenzieren, die keine grammatische Verbindung zum Satz haben. Diesem Zweck diente die Bildung der Begriffe von sinolosen Einfügungen und Konstruktionen, die die Bedeutung einer Schlussfolgerung haben. Später dominierte in den Beschreibungen der Syntax des Litauischen – insbesondere in den akademischen Grammatiken – die engere Konzeption der Einschaltungen. Nur V. Labutis hat sich in seiner “Syntax des Litauischen” (“Lietuvių kalbos sintaksė”, 1994, 1998, 2002) auf die von J. Balkevičius geschaffene Konzeption der Einschaltungen schöpferisch gestützt

The expression of emotional skills among individual and team sports male athletes

Athlete must recognize and manage one’s emotions, as well as their opponents and teammates emotions, in order to perform well in sports. For athletes, higher emotional skills have been linked to higher performance in sports. Purpose: to reveal the peculiarities of the expression of emotional skills among individual and team sports male athletes. Material: the participants comprised of 204 individual sports (track and field athletes, gymnasts, swimmers, badminton players, table tennis players, bodybuilders, and cyclists) and 212 team sports (basketball, football, volleyball, handball, and rugby players) male athletes from Lithuanian sport clubs/schools, age ranged 15 to 18 years old. The measures of emotional skills were evaluated using Social Emotional School Readiness Scale (BUSSE-SR), Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, and Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire – Short Form (TEIQue - SF). In order to analyse data, descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation), Student’s t test, and Cohen’s d were utilized. Results: the comparison of the expression of emotional skills among individual and team sports male athletes revealed that team sports male athletes have higher rate of self-awareness and self-regulation skills than individual sports male athletes (p .05). Conclusions: the findings of the quantitative study confirmed our research hypothesis that male athletes who compete in team sports will have more developed emotional skills than those in individual sports: team sports male athletes have more developed self-awareness and self-regulation skills than individual sports male athletes

Viduriniojo mokyklinio amžiaus mokinių vertybių raiška per kūno kultūros pamokas

The paper strives to answer the question which peculiarities of values expression among students of middle school age in physical education classes in the context of M. Luksiene’s pedagogical legacy insight into past, present and future. The aim of this study was to examine peculiarities of values education among students of middle school age in physical education classes. Students of middle school age (14–15 years old) were separated in randomize way from Kaunas secondary schools: Kaunas “Purienų”, Kaunas “Tado Ivanausko” secondary schools, and S. Darius and S. Girenas gymnasium. The participants of the study were 214 students of middle school age (108 females and 106 males). The measure of terminal and instrumental value orientations was evaluated using modified M. Rokeach questionnaire. In the process of the research ethical and legal principles were observed. The statistical hypotheses were tested by applying the Student t-test. The empirical study showed that for middle school age boys achievement, perseverance and leadership were significantly more important values, and for girls – sincere communication, responsibility and obedience.M.
