    <span style="font-size: small; font-family: ArialUnicodeMS;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: ArialUnicodeMS;"><p align="left">Hemangioendotheliomas are classified as epithelioid hemangioendothelioma</p><p align="left">(EHE), retiform hemangioendothelioma, composite hemanioendothelioma, Kaposiform hemangioendothelioma (with or without Kasabach-Merritt syndrome), and Spindle cell hemangioendothelioma. The latter two types of hemangioendotheliomas usually follow a benign course, in contrast to the other types of hemangioendotheliomas, which are considered as a low grade malignant sarcoma with unpredictable prognosis. EHE's are rare tumors, mostly described in organs particularly the lungs and liver. Though endothelial in origin, EHE's reported to originate from small sized arteries are extremely rare. We report a very rare case of EHE arising from the temporal artery showing a peculiar presentation.</p></span></span

    Spiralling out of control: 3D hydrodynamical modelling of the colliding winds in η\eta\thinspaceCarinae

    Three dimensional (3D) adaptive-mesh refinement (AMR) hydrodynamical simulations of the wind-wind collision between the enigmatic super-massive star \etacar and its mysterious companion star are presented which include radiative driving of the stellar winds, gravity, optically-thin radiative cooling, and orbital motion. Simulations with static stars with a periastron passage separation reveal that the preshock companion star's wind speed is sufficiently reduced that radiative cooling in the postshock gas becomes important, permitting the runaway growth of non-linear thin shell (NTSI) instabilities which massively distort the WCR. However, large-scale simulations which include the orbital motion of the stars, show that orbital motion reduces the impact of radiative inhibition, and thus increases the acquired preshock velocities. As such, the postshock gas temperature and cooling time see a commensurate increase, and sufficient gas pressure is preserved to stabilize the WCR against catastrophic instability growth. We then compute synthetic X-ray spectra and lightcurves and find that, compared to previous models, the X-ray spectra agree much better with {\it XMM-Newton} observations just prior to periastron. The narrow width of the 2009 X-ray minimum can also be reproduced. However, the models fail to reproduce the extended X-ray mimimum from previous cycles. We conclude that the key to explaining the extended X-ray minimum is the rate of cooling of the companion star's postshock wind. If cooling is rapid then powerful NTSIs will heavily disrupt the WCR.     Development of a 66 kV-5 kA Class HTS Power Cable with IBAD/PLD REBCO Tapes

    AbstractHigh temperature superconducting (HTS) cables are able to achieve large power capacity and low-loss power transmission. In the Japanese national project, Fujikura Ltd. worked on developing a 66 kV-5 kArms HTS power cable using high critical current (Ic) REBa2Cu3Ox (REBCO, RE = rare earth) tapes. One of the technical targets in this project is to reduce AC loss to less than 2W/m at 5 kArms. The REBCO tapes with 240 A/4mm-width of Ic at 77K, self field, which were fabricated by Ion-beam-assisted-deposition (IBAD) and Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD) method, were applied to a HTS power cable in order to achieve extremely low AC loss. As a result, we have succeeded in developing a 20 m-long 66 kV-5 kArms HTS power cable. The measured AC loss was achieved 1.4W/m at 77K and 1.0W/m at 67K at 5 kArms

    A Case of Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy after Surgery for Common Bile Duct Stones

    Takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TC) is a rare reversible circulatory syndrome often detected in elderly patients after general surgery. We report the case of an 85-year-old woman who was admitted for obstructive jaundice and underwent ERCP and ENBD before operation. She finally underwent cholecystectomy and choledocholithotomy with the diagnosis of gallbladder and common bile duct stones. In the evening just after the operation, without symptoms of cardiac failure, her ECG suddenly exhibited abnormal ST-T elevation in leads II, III, and V2-V6, though neither CPK(MB) nor troponin T was elevated. Echocardiogram demonstrated basal hyperkinesis and apical dyskinesis, suggesting TC. Conservative treatment enabled recovery, ECG was normalized in a month, and the postoperative course was satisfactory. The stress on her during treatment might have been a cause of this unique cardiomyopathy, and it should be recalled that TC is a potential complication of hepato-biliary-pancreatic surgery
