Viewpoint consistency in Z and LOTOS: A case study
Specification by viewpoints is advocated as a suitable method of specifying complex systems. Each viewpoint describes the envisaged system from a particular perspective, using concepts and specification languages best suited for that perspective. Inherent in any viewpoint approach is the need to check or manage the consistency of viewpoints and to show that the different viewpoints do not impose contradictory requirements. In previous work we have described a range of techniques for consistency checking, refinement, and translation between viewpoint specifications, in particular for the languages LOTOS and Z. These two languages are advocated in a particular viewpoint model, viz. that of the Open Distributed Processing (ODP) reference model. In this paper we present a case study which demonstrates how all these techniques can be combined in order to show consistency between a viewpoint specified in LOTOS and one specified in Z. On the Change in Archivability of Websites Over Time
As web technologies evolve, web archivists work to keep up so that our
digital history is preserved. Recent advances in web technologies have
introduced client-side executed scripts that load data without a referential
identifier or that require user interaction (e.g., content loading when the
page has scrolled). These advances have made automating methods for capturing
web pages more difficult. Because of the evolving schemes of publishing web
pages along with the progressive capability of web preservation tools, the
archivability of pages on the web has varied over time. In this paper we show
that the archivability of a web page can be deduced from the type of page being
archived, which aligns with that page's accessibility in respect to dynamic
content. We show concrete examples of when these technologies were introduced
by referencing mementos of pages that have persisted through a long evolution
of available technologies. Identifying these reasons for the inability of these
web pages to be archived in the past in respect to accessibility serves as a
guide for ensuring that content that has longevity is published using good

Charting New Territories in Health Psychology:A reflection on the EHPS 2022 ‘Digital Divide’ hybrid roundtable by Chairs, Presenters, and Participants
This paper reflects on the roundtable session at the 36th annual conference of the European Health Psychology Society titled ‘Mind the digital divide: How to reduce socialinequalities in digital health promotion?’, chaired by Dr Laura M König and Dr Max JWestern. The session was intended to present contemporary evidence on the existence of a digital divide in health behaviour promotion via two brief presentations of recent evidence syntheses by Dr Eline Smit and Dr Max Western, followed by two short talks on potential underlying mechanisms of the digital divide by Professors Efrat Neter and Falko Sniehotta. Finally, we aimed to explore through a panel discussion and an audience workshop how we, the health psychology community, could focus our research on better understanding and addressing this phenomenon. In the following, we will discuss how the roundtable was implemented and which aspects were perceived to be most useful from the perspectives of the organising chairs, presentersand participants, to provide input for roundtable organisers at future conferences
Mixed methods process evaluation of my breathing matters, a digital intervention to support self-management of asthma.
This study aimed to explore user engagement with 'My Breathing Matters', a digital self-management intervention for asthma, and identify factors that may influence engagement. In a mixed methods design, adults with asthma allocated to the intervention arm of a feasibility trial (n = 44) participated in semi-structured interviews (n = 18) and a satisfaction questionnaire (n = 36) to explore their views and experiences of the intervention. Usage data highlighted that key intervention content was delivered to most users. The majority of questionnaire respondents (78%; n = 28) reported they would recommend the intervention to friends and family. Interviewees expressed positive views of the intervention and experienced several benefits, mainly improved asthma control, medication use, and breathing technique. Factors that may influence user engagement were identified, including perceptions of asthma control, current self-management practices, and appeal of the target behaviours and behaviour change techniques. Findings suggested My Breathing Matters was acceptable and engaging to participants, and it was used as intended
Lack of trust in maternal support is associated with negative interpretations of ambiguous maternal behavior
Attachment theory assumes that children who lack trust in maternal availability for support are more inclined to interpret maternal behavior in congruence with their expectation that mother will remain unavailable for support. To provide the first test of this assumption, early adolescents (9-13 years old) were asked to assess whether ambiguous interactions with mother should be interpreted in a positive or a negative way. In our sample (n = 322), results showed that early adolescents' lack of trust in their mother's availability for support was related to more negative interpretations of maternal behavior. The associations remained significant after controlling for depressive mood. The importance of these findings for our understanding of attachment theory, attachment stability, and clinical practice are discussed
On stability of discretizations of the Helmholtz equation (extended version)
We review the stability properties of several discretizations of the
Helmholtz equation at large wavenumbers. For a model problem in a polygon, a
complete -explicit stability (including -explicit stability of the
continuous problem) and convergence theory for high order finite element
methods is developed. In particular, quasi-optimality is shown for a fixed
number of degrees of freedom per wavelength if the mesh size and the
approximation order are selected such that is sufficiently small and
, and, additionally, appropriate mesh refinement is used near
the vertices. We also review the stability properties of two classes of
numerical schemes that use piecewise solutions of the homogeneous Helmholtz
equation, namely, Least Squares methods and Discontinuous Galerkin (DG)
methods. The latter includes the Ultra Weak Variational Formulation
Self-energy Effects in the Superfluidity of Neutron Matter
The superfluidity of neutron matter in the channel is studied by
taking into account the effect of the ground-state correlations in the
self-energy. To this purpose the gap equation has been solved within the
generalized Gorkov approach. A sizeable suppression of the energy gap is driven

Endogenous fantasy and learning in digital games.
Many people believe that educational games are effective because they motivate children to actively engage in a learning activity as part of playing the game. However, seminal work by Malone (1981), exploring the motivational aspects of digital games, concluded that the educational effectiveness of a digital game depends on the way in which learning content is integrated into the fantasy context of the game. In particular, he claimed that content which is intrinsically related to the fantasy will produce better learning than that which is merely extrinsically related. However, this distinction between intrinsic and extrinsic (or endogenous and exogenous) fantasy is a concept that has developed a confused standing over the following years. This paper will address this confusion by providing a review and critique of the empirical and theoretical foundations of endogenous fantasy, and its relevance to creating educational digital games. Substantial concerns are raised about the empirical basis of this work and a theoretical critique of endogenous fantasy is offered, concluding that endogenous fantasy is a misnomer, in so far as the "integral and continuing relationship" of fantasy cannot be justified as a critical means of improving the effectiveness of educational digital games.
