Motivasi Kerja Birokrat Dalam Meningkatkan Pelayanan Masyarakat Pada Bagian Kesejahteraan Rakyat Dan Kemasyarakatan Sekretariat Daerah Kabupaten Parigi Moutong
This research was conducted with the purpose of analyzing the bureaucrat working motivation on People Welfare Division and Region Secretariat Society Parigi Moutong Region and the barrier factors. This research was a qualitative descriptive research that using Abraham Maslow needs hierarchy theory. The phenomena observed was physical needs, safety needs, social needs, reward and self-actualization needs. The informants of the research were the staffs on Social and Welfare Division who worked for many years and also the other officers with senior degree. The data used was the primary data which directly obtained from the informants that then was compared to secondary data with the technique of data collection done through interview, observation and documentation. Next, the data analysis done in the stage of data reduction, data display and drawing conclusion. The research result found that there was a difference between ideal value and the fact in the field so that it was concluded that seen from physical needs part then the income obtained was not very appropriate if faced by the recent life needs; safety needs was not ful, filled because the minimum facilities; social needs was not fulfilled caused by the officer interaction did not run well as well as the reward and self-actualization needs
Exceptional field theory:
We construct Exceptional Field Theory for the group based on the
extended (6+16)-dimensional spacetime, which after reduction gives the maximal
supergravity. We present both a true action and a duality-invariant
pseudo-action formulations. All the fields of the theory depend on the complete
extended spacetime. The U-duality group is made a geometric symmetry
of the theory by virtue of introducing the generalised Lie derivative that
incorporates a local duality transformation. Tensor hierarchy appears as a
natural consequence of the algebra of generalised Lie derivatives that are
viewed as gauge transformations. Upon truncating different subsets of the extra
coordinates, maximal supergravities in and (type IIB) can be
recovered from this theory.Comment: 33 pages + Appendi
Grid-Forming Control of Power Converters: Equivalence Proof through Simplified Models
This work establishes the equivalence of selected grid-forming control
algorithms within the context of simplified theoretical models. Considered
algorithms are droop control, Virtual Synchronous Machine (VSM) and matching
control. It is shown that nodal and network dynamics under those regulators
boil down to the same equations near the selected (trivial) nominal operating
point. Finally, some practical insights on each regulator dynamics and an
outlook are provided.Comment: 4 page
Dating the Russian Business Cycle, Identifying Coherence and persistence in Its Major Macroeconomic Indicators
This study attempts to examine the business cycle, coherence, and persistence of the GDP, investment, export, consumption, and savings from the period 1992 to 2019. We used Bry and Boschan quarterly (BBQ) algorithm to examine the business cycle, and Granger causality and correlation tests to examine the coherence and persistence, respectively. The BBQ algorithm showed that the expansion periods ranged from 12 quarters to around 32 quarters; the contraction period ranged from 5 quarters to around 9 quarters. According to the results, the investment, export, consumption, and savings were hit by the 1998 rouble crisis, 2008 global and 2014 Russian financial crisis. The causality test showed that there are bidirectional causal relationships between investment and GDP, as well as between savings and GDP. Additionally, the data imply that there is one-way causation between consumption and GDP, as well as between trade and GDP. The majority of variables, except for export, are extremely procyclical. As can be observed, all variables are persistent, which means that their values do not considerably deviate from those of their preceding period. While trade and investment are significant, their persistence rate is weak in comparison to the other variables. The Great Recession, the Ruble crisis, and the post-crisis economic situations have provided a chance for Russia to reconsider and expedite economic reforms, as well as encourage diversification. The majority of these difficulties will need robust and comprehensive reform measures
Political discussions in online oppositional communities in the non-democratic context
Taking into account YouTube’s specific role in the Russian media system and the increasing level of political polarization in the country, this study examines the role of incivility in discussions and whether discussions in an anti-government community represent a place for disagreement between pro-opposition and pro-government users. I argue that an online environment helps these sides meet each other rather than creating echo chambers of like-minded users. Moreover, in the quite restrictive Russian context for political deliberation, the incivility of messages plays a role in further involving commenters in discussions. Using the corpus of comments posted in the discussion section of opposition leader Alexei Navalny’s YouTube channel, I exploited class affinity modeling to identify pro-government and pro-opposition stances. Incivility was studied based on Google’s Perspective API toxicity classifier. I found that users avoid extreme forms of incivility when interacting with other commenters, but uncivil comments are more likely to start discussion threads. Furthermore, the level of incivility in comments gets higher over time after a video release. Pro-government sentiments, on the one hand, are associated with a subsequent response from Navalny’s supporters to the out-group criticism and, on the other hand, contribute to the further formation of hubs with a pro-government narrative. This research contributes to the extant literature on affective polarization on social media, shedding light on political discussions within an oppositional community in a non-democracy
The Impact of Remote Work on Firm’s Profitability: Optimizing Virtual Employee Productivity and Operational Costs
Remote working offers a series of benefits not only to the employees individually but importantly to the companies as a whole. This research discusses how altering business strategy to accommodate remote working may boost the profitability of a firm. More specifically, we proposed the RW (Remote -Work) led growth hypothesis. We derived this hypothesis from two perspectives: the VEP (Virtual employee productivity) and VOC (Cost-cutting through the virtual office). We argued that employee productivity increases through factors such as work-life balance and employee engagement. Additionally, a firm can reduce operational expenses by adopting a work-from-home model. Although working remotely can increase the profitability of a firm, certain hidden expenses must be evaluated. This research also discusses these challenges that may cause the degrowth of a firm. We recommend that firms should resolve these issues to make a robust growth strategy that can achieve growth in the remote working model. The remote work trend is a recent phenomenon and there is not enough empirically workable dataset from different firms. Some post-pandemic surveys suggest that companies enjoyed profits to some extent but these surveys lack rigorous empirical models
3D printed titanium implants: colossal FDA-approved leap towards “personalized” maxillo-facial surgery.
Global health initiatives, over the last years, have often struggled to implement impactful vicissitudes, whether in preventive or interventional, and more so, surgical care1. This can be mainly attributed to (a) deficiencies in comprehending what aspects govern the capacity of a surgical service to deliver safe, efficacious, accessible, and cost-effective care; and (b) whether the surgical service/care meets the mounting needs and demands of populations
Volume Discount Sensitivity Analysis for Optimal Pricing Strategies in B2B Firms
Volume discounts are particularly prone to misinterpretation in the B2B sector. This is because corporate clients are more inclined to purchase things in large quantities. This research argues that when considering a volume discount, the first line of examination should be volume discount sensitivity analysis. We define volume sensitivity as how much a product's volume discount influences a customer's desire or readiness to purchase. It indicates the relative relevance of volume discount to other product features or buying factors for purchasers. We discussed how techniques such as the Ladder method, Van Westendorp method, and Gabor-Granger approach can assist the firms in devising optimal volume discount strategies. This research also discusses the volume hurdle analysis in the context of volume discounting. If a firm anticipates meeting the volume hurdle, a volume discount may be necessary. If the volume hurdle exceeds the predicted change in sales, the volume discount cannot be supported, and the company should adopt other options
