    Evaluation of Steel Stairwell Dynamic Characteristics, Under Few Mass Configurations Using Ambient Vibration Method

    Application of external mass on existing emergency steel stairwell in this study has altered the natural frequency when the resonance threshold has been reached and allows disruption to the human comfort feeling. Ambient vibration testing and modal analysis were carried out on 6 meter height of emergency steel stairway portal frame by using 1 Hz of tri-axial seismometer sensor and open source software of GEOPSY as the processing tool. The stairwell platforms were subjected by cumulative ascending static mass configurations of 300 kg, 600 kg and 900 kg. Identification of the predominant first mode frequency, f1, and mode shapes were made with specified empirical filtering protocols were applied.  Fourier Amplitude Spectra (FAS) was used to transform the ambient vibration time series, when the first predominant frequency under bare frame (BF) condition shows at 8.32 Hz. f1 decreased linearly to 7.35 Hz (BF+300kg), 6.77 Hz (BF+600kg) and 6.23 Hz (BF+900 kg), when the masses were increased. In addition, at these frequencies’ ranges, bad human subjective experiences could be triggered as recommended by previous researchers between 8 to 5 Hz. Besides, the deflection shapes from the first mode frequency was also illustrated at higher deflection amplitude to one of the portal frame’s column which resisting two stairwell platforms. These amplitudes are higher when f1 is decreasing. It can be concluded that, ambient vibration approach has efficiently evaluated the dynamic characteristics and its influence against the structure-person interaction on existing steel stairwell portal frame in this study. Further strengthening work on the steel frame could decrease the reductions percentages of the predominant frequencies, deflection amplitudes and even increase the human comfort level when using the stairwell, especially during building evacuation procedure

    Effects of roof insulation on the thermal conditions of a medium scaled tropical enclosed giant freshwater prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii) hatchery

    This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of roof thermal insulation on the indoor thermal environment of an existing enclosed giant freshwater prawn hatchery in relation to human thermal comfort and the thermal requirement for optimal larval growth. A typical medium scaled enclosed hatchery in Ipoh, Malaysia was chosen for this study. Thermal performances of five thermal insulation materials installed on the roof of the building were studied using Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES) Virtual Environment software. Results showed no significant differences for indoor air temperatures reduction among the insulation materials. However, the installation of roof insulation gave a cooler indoor thermal environment and provided a suitable water temperature/ improved water thermal condition for the prawn larviculture. The study also suggested the aluminium foil was the best insulation for the partially transparent roof of the building

    This research was aimed at finding out the effectevenness of Ransom Note Game in learning vocabulary. this research was quasi experimental design. The populations of this research were all of students at second grade students of SMPN 1 KERUAK that consist of 284 students that consist of eight different classes. In which the sample of this research used two classes where VIII.1 Class as experimental group consisted of 32 student and VIII.3 as control group consisted of 31 students. The experimental was taught by Ransom Note Game Game and control group taught by Puzzle Game. The instruments that used were objective test with multiple choices, matching word, fill in the blank and true or false. The analysis used t-test formula. The result of the analysis, showed that the value of to (t obtained) 2, 0888 was higher than tt (t table) 1, 8702, the significant level 0, 05. Based on the result of this investigation, it was proved that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. In other words, there was significant effect of Ransom Note Game in learning vocabulary at the second grade students at SMPN 1 KERUAK in academic year 2016/2017

    This project is on the development of Mini Hydro Turbine where positioned in the blade for hydro turbine rotate to produce power. The main objective of this project is to design blade, setup experiment to produce power. The swirling of turbine created by the blade provides more speed with small volume of water, result in producing more power and more economical use. The blade device have been designed using CATIA CAD software and fabricated by using aluminum. Experiment analysis has been performed in order to do the comparison between the three blade and six blade installed in the mini hydro turbine system. Based on the experimental result obtained, it is found that six blade produced more power than three blade

In this study, a high-power μDMFC with a power output of 14.10 mW on an active area of 4 cm2 and catalyst loading of 0.5 mg cm-2 cathode was successfully developed.     IoT-Based Tracking System of Transceiver Location

    Object mapping based on location tracking methods has been widely used in various types of applications.     Most tracking systems recently use existing technology and infrastructure such as satellite, cellular and wireless (RF) technology. These existing technologies are high-cost technology that needs authorized permission to be integrated to the novel technology. This research proposed a cheap point to point device technology to track a location of a transceiver using GPS in a portable infrastructure using Line of sight radio communication. The tracking system design is connected to the IoT system in order to be more accessible. The proposed system using GPS as an identifier of the transceiver coordinate location and 433MHz radio module as media communication between transmitter and receiver. The use of a 433MHz radio frequency module which is free-license adds value to the system so that it will be easily accessed. The design of portable and internet-based devices also gives a positive value in which the system does not have to depend on existing infrastructure and the system can also be reached even if it is placed in remote areas. The system test results show that the system can be well accessed up to a distance of 6.8 km
