The purpose of this study to analyze the performance of the social and financial performance over the period 2009-2013 were conducted in rural microfinance institutions (UED-SP) Candi Makmur. Social performance analysis using MIX Market performance indicators, and financial performance analysis method using 17 ratio with Pearls. Social performance analysis show has achieved its mission and social purpose indicated by the indicator development revolving loan volume of 56.37 percent, the development of the highest revolving loan is trade 58.36 percent and the number of poor borrowers 260 people with poor loan growth 116.3 percent. Activity and increased internal system is shown by the staff productivity indicator for the number of borrowers, loan volume and ratio of staff incentives. Increased output and outcome in dicators shown by the borrower based on gender, the ratio of borrowers by business sector and the ratio of the number of poor borrowers. Financial performance analysis shows the ratio of 17 pearls were analyzed, 7 ratio is under ideal conditions the ratio of current assets, loans from the outside, the capital of institutions, non-productive assets, operating costs, asset growth and the growth of outstanding loans. which is not ideal for the ratio is the ratio of the risk reserve fund for loans negligence 1-12 months and over 12 months, outstanding loans, savings shares, non perfoaming loan, income from loans, net income, current assets do not generate, growth stock savings and growth institutional capital

    High-Performance Corrosion-Resistant Polymer/Graphene Nanomaterials for Biomedical Relevance

    Get PDF
Initially, pristine polymers were used to develop corrosion-resistant coatings. Later, the trend shifted to the use of polymeric nanocomposites in anti-corrosion materials. In this regard, graphene has been identified as an important corrosion-resistant nanomaterial. Consequently, polymer/graphene nanocomposites have been applied for erosion protection applications. Among polymers, conducting polymers (polyaniline, polypyrrole, polythiophene, etc.) and nonconducting polymers (epoxy, poly(methyl methacrylate), etc.) have been used as matrices for anticorrosion graphene nanocomposites. The corrosion-resistant polymer/graphene nanocomposites have found several important applications in biomedical fields such as biocompatible materials, biodegradable materials, bioimplants, tissue engineering, and drug delivery. The biomedical performance of the nanomaterials depends on the graphene dispersion and interaction with the polymers and living systems. Future research on the anti-corrosion polymer/graphene nanocomposite is desirable to perceive further advanced applications in the biomedical arenas

    Natural surfactants for pharmaceutical emulsion

    Get PDF
Surfactants are widely used in the preparation of pharmaceuticals. In emulsion, it is a vital ingredient that allows mixing of two immiscible liquids. Emulsions have significant importance as carriers for water-insoluble drugs. There are many types of synthetic surfactants but there are also known natural surfactants which have been used and more to be explored

    Self-Healing Nanocomposites—Advancements and Aerospace Applications

    Get PDF
Self-healing polymers and nanocomposites form an important class of responsive materials. These materials have the capability to reversibly heal their damage. For aerospace applications, thermosets and thermoplastic polymers have been reinforced with nanocarbon nanoparticles for self-healing of structural damage. This review comprehends the use of self-healing nanocomposites in the aerospace sector. The self-healing behavior of the nanocomposites depends on factors such as microphase separation, matrix–nanofiller interactions and inter-diffusion of polymer–nanofiller. Moreover, self-healing can be achieved through healing agents such as nanocapsules and nanocarbon nanoparticles. The mechanism of self-healing has been found to operate via physical or chemical interactions. Self-healing nanocomposites have been used to design structural components, panels, laminates, membranes, coatings, etc., to recover the damage to space materials. Future research must emphasize the design of new high-performance self-healing polymeric nanocomposites for aerospace structures

Riba Free Loan in Islamic Finance: Key to Social Development and Welfare

    Get PDF
Worldwide Islamic financial institutions (IFIs) do not offer loan for avoiding interest/usury, confine their Shariah interpretations to a particular school of thought and offer products for rich people only. Loans are however demanded by the underdeveloped social actors in economy for welfare and development. As per Islam usury (Riba) free loan (Qard – e – Hassan or Dain) is a key to social development. Modern implicit and explicit shapes of master-servant relation among individuals and institutions are legal phenomena with diversified standards and patterns. As per Jaferia school of thought, Islam allows presetting Hadya (gift) in loans among master-servant. These options were utilized by our study for proposing a Pro-Hadya Riba Free Loan among master-servant. Such model of loaning can help stakeholders of Islamic finance improving the existing landscape from pro-commercial creed to pro - social development approach. It is further a potential replacement of fixed rate of interest/usury with Hadya. Such loan can be utilized for turning pension, gratuity, provident fund and other investment schemes Shariah based easily by taking advantage of master-servant setup. Findings and recommendations of this study contributes novel and further invites future research on its engineered model of loaning

CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE – A MULTI-CENTER STUDY IN KARACHI, PAKISTAN

Objective: Chronic kidney disease is growing at alarming rate in developing countries like Pakistan. The aim of the study was to find out the major factors leading to this disease and to carry out the comparative analysis of the effectiveness of allopathic and homoeopathic medicines in treatment of chronic kidney disease. Methods: A multi-center study was carried out in five different centers from 2009-2014. The study was carried out by interviewing the patients, noting down their vitals and reviewing their records. Evaluation of the data was done considering age, sex and co-morbidities associated with renal failure. Results: Significant results were observed. Patients of age groups 46 to 60 (48%) and 30 to 45 (21%) were found to suffer more from chronic kidney disease. Hypertension was found as the most frequently occurring co-morbidity along with chronic renal failure followed by diabetes. Conclusion: The current study will be beneficial in bringing awareness in general public and thereby reducing the increasing burden of end-stage kidney disease
