    Intrusive growth of sclerenchyma fibers

    Intrusive growth is a type of cell elongation when the rate of its longitudinal growth is higher than that of surrounding cells; therefore, these cells intrude between the neighboring cells penetrating the middle lamella. The review considers the classical example of intrusive growth, e.g., elongation of sclerenchyma fibers when the cells achieve the length of several centimeters. We sum the published results of investigations of plant fiber intrusive growth and present some features of intrusive growth characterized by the authors for flax (Linum usitatissimum L.) and hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) fibers. The following characteristics of intrusive growth are considered: its rate and duration, relationship with the growth rate of surrounding cells, the type of cell elongation, peculiarities of the fiber primary cell wall structure, fibers as multinucleate cells, and also the control of intrusive growth. Genes, which expression is sharply reduced at suppression of intrusive growth, are also considered. Arguments for separation of cell elongation and secondary cell wall formation in phloem fibers and also data indicating diffuse type of cell enlargement during intrusive growth are presented

    Drawing on theories of place identity and social identity, this study aims to fill a gap in place identity studies regarding the effect of a place website on the destination image of customers/visitors/tourists. The research addresses three questions: (1) what are the main impacts of tourists’ attitude on place identity and the place website, (2) what are the factors that influence destination image, and (3) what are the main impacts of a favorable destination image? The favorability of a destination image is reflected by the extent to which visitors positively regard that place website. Results reveal the importance of the destination image in enhancing the intention to revisit and recommend. Also, visitors’ satisfaction impacts on their intention to revisit and recommend the place. Significant implications for place managers and researchers are highlighted

    The article provides grounding and a methodological macro-development basis for a system periodic model of professional pedagogical education within bachelor's and master’s programmes in natural sciences. In the abovementioned context, periodicity is regarded as a universally applicable procedural basis for multilevel continuous professional pedagogical education in the sphere of natural sciences. A key category of system periodic model of professional pedagogical education within bachelor's and master’s programmes in natural sciences is a didactic cycle characterised by purposefulness, internal system integrity, dynamism, iterativity, controllability and hierarchy of levels based on phase logic. Didactic cycle is represented as a dual procedure of development of subject-subject relations oriented to correlation changes of self-balancing systems depending on quantitative augmentation in a form of grasping of content of professional pedagogical education within bachelor's and master’s programmes in natural sciences to qualitative personal transformations. Realisation of the hierarchy position is realised as macro-didactic, mesodidactic and micro-didactic cycles within the structure of a system model. Their attributive signs are goals, peculiarities of learning activity within the process of subject-subject dialogic interaction, types of solved tasks and performance.     BLOOD CYTOKINE PROFILE AND LESION SITE REPAIR IN DYNAMICS OF EXPERIMENTAL THERMAL TRAUMA AFTER LOCAL AND SYSTEMIC MELATONIN ADMINISTRATION

    Burn injuries are one of the key medical and social problems. Despite the significant achievements in combustiology, the slow healing and the appearance of infection are the key problems in burn patients, which lead to a longer hospitalization period, to reduction of life quality and to emotional disorders. Up to 70% of all complications after thermal trauma (TT) are connected with infection – first of all, pneumonia, infections of urinal tract. The forming of infectious complications, including sepsis, after TT is associated with excessive immunosuppressive reactions, as compensation for a long, stable proinflammatory response, in particular, owing to hyperproduction and effects of IL-10, IL-4, TGF-Ξ². Aim: to study the influence of systemic and local usage of MT with original dermal film (DF) on reparation and serum cytokine concentration indicators in dynamics of experimental TT. The study was conducted using 84 rats – males of Wistar line, which were divided randomly into 4 groups: 1st group (n = 12) – intact monitoring, 2nd group (n = 30) – animals with TT, 3rd group (n = 21) – animals with TT and DF with MT use on the region of burn, 4th group (n = 21) – animals with TT and intraperitoneal injection of MT. To model TT of IIIA degree and relative area 3,5%, isolated skin area of interscapular area was immersed in distilled water at a temperature of 98-99 Β°Π‘ at 12 s. The DF with MT (at a concentration of 0.005 g/g) on 12 sm2 – area in 3rd group was used daily for 5 days. The MT was injected intraperitoneally daily at the dose of 10 mg/kg for 5 days. The wound area was calculated, the interleukin-4 (IL-4), tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFΞ±), interferon-gamma (IFNΞ³) were determined in serum on 5th,10th and 20th day from the moment of TT induction in each group. During experimental TT in dynamic monitoring from 5th to 20th day the absolute and relative areas of wound defect are reduced, because of that the epithelization speed and its part of area reduction are progressively increasing, on 5th,10th and 20th day the concentration of TNFΞ± and IL-4 in serum is increasing with maximum values on 10th day of monitoring. Local usage of MT in DF during TT accelerates the healing of burn wound and lowers the TNFΞ± and IL-4 concentration in serum on 5th, 10th and 20th day. Intraperitoneal use of MT during TT accelerates the healing of burn wound and lowers the TNFΞ± and IL-4 concentration in serum on 5th and 20th day. The reparation accelerating effect of MT during TT is more expressed in locale usage in DF rather than using intraperitoneal injection

    The paper goal is to define the role of media analytics in library research. The author characterizes the main types and methods of applied library research (sociological, library statistics, bibliometrics). As the media tools used in applied library studies are limited, the author discusses the potentialities of media analytics as a new and promising research vector. Monitoring of library media presence enables to assess the library’s communication PR policy, its ability to attract audience attention, and to demonstrate its potential and social role. The functionality of Medialogia computerized mass and social media monitoring system is discussed; the data formats, tools and library opportunities are examined. The media analytics methods, i. e. monitoring, statistical and infographical methods, as well as content analysis, are described. The author analyzes the results of search of RNPLS&T media hits in the period from May 30, 2021, to May 30, 2022. She concludes that the Library has been intensifying its media activity, and its PRperformance has been increasing.     The paper analyses the parameters of deep oxidation of zinc and tin by copper (II) compounds and molecular iodine in the presence of molecular oxygen and hydrogen peroxide, as second oxidizers working synchronously with them in various media (aqueous, aqueous-organic and organic) with the participation of mineral and carboxylic acids close to room temperature. The contribution of the reactivity of the metal to its rate of consumption, especially the average, is often much less than the contribution associated with the release characteristics of the working surface, determined by the rates of accumulation of surface deposits of metal oxidation products, their strength and adhesion characteristics their destruction and shifting into the bulk phase
