In daily life, Artocarpus heterophylla Lamk., the leaves are rarely used even just as animal feed. In the bark of Artocarpus heterophylla Lamk there are new flavonoid compounds namely morusin, artokarpin, artonin E, cycloartobilosantone, and artonol B. This research is an experimental design with randomized posttest only with control group design. A total of 21 mice were divided into 3 groups, each consisting of 7 mice, group 1: negative control given oral placebo and exposed to UV-B rays, group 2:giving Vitamin C cream 4% mg and exposed to UV-B rays, group 3: giving cream of Artocarpus heterophylla Lamk leaf extract 4% and exposed to UV-B rays. The total of UV radiation dose of 600 mJ / cm² for 3 weeks, then performed a biopsy for examination of the amount of dermis collagen. The average number of collagen in the three groups after treatment was given significantly different (p <0.05). Mean and Significant level of collagen density of group 1 : 51,42 ± 5,16; group P2 ± 91,18 ± 1,13; and P3 group: 88,77 ± 1,10. Conclusion : Cream of 4% Artocarpus heterophylla Lamk leaf extract can increase the amount of collagen density in mice exposed to UV-B rays

The kidneys as one of the important body organs have a very important role in maintaining a healthy body. The kidneys function to regulate fluid balance in the body the concentration of salt in the blood, acid-base balance in the blood, and excretion of waste materials such as urea and other nitrogenous waste in the blood. Magenta plants (Peristrophe bivalvis (L.) Merr.) contain secondary metabolites, namely alkaloids, saponins, triterpenoids, tannins, and flavonoids as antioxidants. The abundance of antioxidants sourced from natural sources for various diseases is often used as a complementary therapy and is one of the current therapeutic choices. However, the development of natural sources must also consider kidney function during an intervention. The incidence of kidney failure can be caused either by the occurrence of oxidative stress or exposure to drugs and other chemical compounds must also consider the physiological functions of important organs in the body such as the liver and kidneys. This study was conducted to determine the protective role of magenta leaves extract (Peristrophe bivalvis (L.) Merr.) on the kidneys after being given an acetaminophen hepatotoxic dose. In this study, the effectiveness of magenta leaves antioxidants and the safety of use was analyzed by looking at the kidney function in the experimental model of Wistar strain male white rats, using a Randomized Post Test Only Control Group Design. Four treatment groups showed that magenta leaves extract (Peristrophe bivalvis (L.) Merr.) at 125 and 250 mg/kg BW can protect the kidneys with average creatinine levels of 0.63 and 0.75 and with a normal range (0.7 - 1.2). It means that these two groups could protect the kidney function although in the histopathology test only the group administering extracts of 250 mg/Kg BW showed good results. It can be concluded that administration of the magenta leaves extracts at 250 mg/kg BW can protect renal function as seen from serum creatinine levels. Besides, histopathological features can provide a protective effect on the kidneys with the incidence of necrosis in the kidneys of less than 60% of the toxic dose of acetaminophen

Chinese betel can be used to lower cholesterol, heal broken bones, rheumatoid arthritis, anti-fungal medication, gout, protect the digestive system, treat urinary tract disorders and so on. Chinese betel plants contain active compounds such as terpenoids, flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins and phenols. Flavonoids are natural chemicals found in plants. Flavonoids also have antioxidant properties to reduce the effects of free radicals. The research aims to determine the total flavonoid content of Chinese betel extract with variations of 70%, 80% and 96% ethanol using the UV-Vis spectrophotometric method. This method was carried out by quantitative analysis of the total flavonoid content of Chinese betel ethanol extract using UV-Vis spectrophotometry and qualitative analysis using concentrated Mg and HCL powder. The material used is Chinese betel extract (Peperomia pellucida) obtained from Jembrana district, Bali province. Other materials used are 70% ethanol, 80% ethanol, 96% ethanol and ethanol p.a., sodium acetate, distilled water, AlCl3, quercetin, Mg powder and concentrated HCL. The results of testing the total flavonoid content in Chinese betel ethanol extract varied in concentration of 70%, namely containing flavonoids of 2.78576 g/100g EQ, 80% ethanol Chinese betel extract containing flavonoids of 5.132503 g/100g EQ, and Chinese betel ethanol extract 96 % contains flavonoids of 6.77682 g/100g EQ. The highest flavonoid content results were obtained by the 96% ethanol concentration extract because 96% ethanol has polar properties so it can attract flavonoid compounds well. Qualitative analysis of flavonoids showed positive results with the formation of a brownish red color

Free radicals play an important role in pathological processes and tissue damage. The pepperomia pellucida plant is often used as a traditional medicine, known to have antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, hypoglycemic, antifungal, antimicrobial, anticancer, antioxidant, antidiabetic and antihypertensive activity. Excessive free radicals can attack vulnerable compounds such as lipids and proteins which can cause various diseases. The Pepperomia pellucida plant is a plant that contains secondary metabolites such as alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins and steroids. The aim of this research was to determine the antioxidant activity of Pepperomia pellucida ethanol extract with variations of 70% and 80%. The results of the DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) ethanol extract of Pepperomia pellucida extract in the 70% variation showed IC50 = 24.50981 ppm and the 80% variation showed IC50 = 30.49915 ppm. Based on the research results of the two variations of ethanol, it was found that the best IC50 result was Pepperomia pellucida ethanol extract with a variation of 70% because it had a smaller IC50 result than the 80% ethanol variation, namely with an IC50 figure = 24.50981 ppm. The results of the phytochemical screening of the ethanol extract of pepperomia pellucida indicated positive results from several tests, namely alkaloids, flavonoids, steroids, saponins and tannins

Cigarette smoke contains various toxic chemical compounds which can trigger oxidative stress. Biomarkers to show the degree of oxidative stress that occurs are levels of malondialdehyde (MDA)  The n-butanol extract of Eugenia uniflora fruit contains compounds that have antioxidant activity of phenolic and non-phenolic compounds. The purpose of this study was phytochemical screening and the effect of giving n-butanol extract of fruit Eugenia uniflora L on oxidative stress mice exposed to cigarette smoke. The research design was an experimental randomized post-test control group design,  The control group of mice was only given exposure to cigarette smoke 1 stick per day (K), the second group was given exposure to cigarette smoke 1 stick per day P1 dose of 100 mg /KgBB, the third group was given exposure to cigarette smoke 1 stick per day P2 dose 200 mg /KgBB, n-butanol Dewandaru fruit extract. The treatment of experimental animals was given for 30 days,  malondialdehyde was analyzed using the Elisa method
