Perception Factors, Intentions and Attitudes with Market Community Participation to Prevent Occupational Diseases

An Occupational Disease was a disease caused by work or work environment. One of the efficient and effective strategies for controlling Occupational Disease was the empowerment and participation of the community called Occupational Health Unit (Pos UKK) in the workplace. Based on the data of market health inspection in Pos UKK Imogiri market in March 2017, there were only 67 participants (19.17%) from 365 invited people.: The purpose of this research was to know the internal factors with the community participation in Pos UKK Imogiri market Bantul. This research was a quantitative analytic research with cross sectional design. The population was 365 people and the sample was 150 respondents. The sampling used purposive sampling technique. Kendall Tau test showed that there was a relation between perception and community participation (p value <0.05, r = 0.677); Intentions related to community participation (p value <0.05 r = 0.486); Attitudes related to community participation (p value <0.05 , r= 0.802). F test result showed that the variables of Perception, Intentions and Attitudes related simultaneously to community participation (F value = 387.41> F table = 2.67). The dominant independent variable was Attitudes with the highest Standard Beta Coefficient value was 0.776. Perceptions, Intentions and Attitudes related both partially and simultaneously to community participation; the independent variable that had dominant influence was Attitudes

Endothelial progenitor cells and burn injury - exploring the relationship.

Burn wounds result in varying degrees of soft tissue damage that are typically graded clinically. Recently a key participant in neovascularization, the endothelial progenitor cell, has been the subject of intense cardiovascular research to explore whether it can serve as a biomarker for vascular injury. In this review, we examine the identity of the endothelial progenitor cell as well as the evidence that support its role as a key responder after burn insult. While there is conflicting evidence with regards to the delta of endothelial progenitor cell mobilization and burn severity, it is clear that they play an important role in wound healing. Systematic and controlled studies are needed to clarify this relationship, and whether this population can serve as a biomarker for burn severity

Single-Exposure, Single-Mask, Edge-Illumination X-ray Phase-Contrast Imaging Using a 7.8-μm Pixel Pitch Direct Conversion X-ray Detector

Double-mask edge-illumination is a well-reported technique for phase-contrast x-ray imaging. Although phase retrieval using this technique is comparably easier than propagation-based phase-contrast x-ray imaging, edge-illumination can be inefficient in terms of dose efficiency and imaging time when it comes to computed tomography scanning. The illumination curve, which describes the beamlets' intensity profile impinging upon the detector, is a key parameter that contributes to retrieving phase and absorption information. To obtain the illumination curve, multiple exposures are typically required which decreases x-ray dose efficiency and, more importantly, increases imaging time. Moreover, sample motion can negatively impact the image and information retrieval process. In this research, we employ a single mask in conjunction with a 7.8-μm pixel pitch amorphous selenium-CMOS hybrid direct conversion x-ray detector to obtain the beamlets' intensity profile with only a single exposure. We demonstrate how using an ultra-high spatial resolution x-ray detector with a single-mask edge-illumination technique can potentially increase both dose efficiency and imaging time by at least a factor of 1.5X. Moreover, the resulting system using our approach is more compact with a source-to-detector distance of less than 30 cm. Single-exposure imaging can also help mitigate the impact of motion artifacts in the final image

The purpose of this study is to application attitude, subjective norms, intentions, and behavior clean and healthy by using Theory of Reasoned Action. This research type was an analytical observational study with cross-sectional. Research location was in Imogiri traditional market in Bantul Yogyakarta Indonesia. The sampling technique was accidental sampling. Data collection techniques were questionnaire and observation sheet. Data analysis used Amos 24. Attitudes affected the intention; Attitude effect on Behavioral Beliefs; Subjective norms affect Outcome Evaluations; The intention affected the intention of disposing of; The intention affected the intention of utilizing latrines; The intention affected the intention of not smoking in the market; intention affected the intention to wash hands with soap; Clean and healthy life behavior has an effect on non-smoking behavior in the market; Clean and healthy life behavior has an effect on hand washing behavior with soap

Evaluation of the effects of extraction of Kurdistan propolis on biochemical and microbiological parameters of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss)

Spoilage of fish muscle results from changes brought about by biological reactions such as oxidation of lipids, reactions due to activities of the fish’s own enzymes and the metabolic activities of microorganisms. These activities lead to a short shelf life in fish and other seafood products. Propolis is a natural product derived from plant resins collected by honeybees. Propolis has been used in traditional medicine for centuries. It is known that propolis possesses anti- microbial, antioxidative, anti-ulcer and anti-tumor activities. At this study biochemical and microbiological parameters of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) treated to 10% concentration of alcoholic extraction of Kurdistan propolis for 24 days were determined. Analyses were carried out for mesophilic and psychrophilic bacteria counting as microbiological parameters and total volatile base nitrogen (TVBN), Thiobarbituric acid reactive species(TBARS), pH and acidity as biochemical parameters, for 0, 8, 16 and 24 days of storage at 4 ºC with vacuum packaging. The results presented that decreasing in microbiological parameters at control samples were more faster than treated samples and TVB-N,TBARS and acidity of control samples were higher than treated samples and pH of treated samples were higher than control samples after 24 days. The results suggest that 10% concentration of alcoholic extraction of Kurdistan propolis can enhance the shelf life of rainbow trout fillets during the refrigerated, vacuum packed preservation

Hypercalcemia associated with a parathyroid cyst.

Parathyroid cysts are rare. When they do occur they usually have no demonstrable endocrine function, but may cause respiratory distress by tracheal compression or may be mistakenly diagnosed as thyroid carcinomas or adenomas. We report a case of a parathyroid cyst which presented with hypercalcemia. CASE REPORT: A fifty eight year old man undergoing routine investigations was found to have hypercalcaemia. His calcium level was elevated to 3.63 mmol/l and the serum parathyroid hormone level was 18.4 pmol/l (normal range 1.0- 5.3). Serum alkaline phosphatase was at the upper limit of normal at 1 1 3U/1. X-ray of the renal tract revealed no evidence of calcification. He was asymptomatic and had no palpable neck mass. Ultrasound examination revealed a 3 cm cyst-like structure inferior and posterior to the left lobe of the thyroid, with a well defined wall approximately 2 mm thick. Exploration of the neck revealed a large cyst (6.5 x 5 x 3 cm), which was removed and found to weigh 57 g. Three other parathyroid glands with a normal appearance were found. Macroscopic examination of the removed specimen showed a smooth lined cyst containing greasy, pearly material. Histology revealed a fibrous lined cyst, containing several islands of parathyroid tissue with clear cell cytology and moderate nuclear pleomorphism. Post-operatively serum calcium returned to normal. The patient was discharged on the fourth post-operative day. DISCUSSION Many theories have been advanced regarding the aetiology of parathyroid cysts. Goris1 was the first to report a case. Nylander2 has suggested that they arise from remnants of the third or fourth pharangeal pouch or are vestigia
