    ABSTRACT This CFD study presents the performance evaluation of a blade cooling passage. An experimental model with seven-row of inline circular pin-fins is chosen in this study. Simulations consider two types; i.e. ‘warm’ test with isothermal wall condition and ‘cold’ test with adiabatic wall condition respectively, in order to evaluate flow and thermal characteristics such as heat transfer coefficient (HTC) and friction factor (f). The steady RANS with k-epsilon turbulence model was carried out by two-stages investigating: firstly, validation of an existing circular staggered array of pin-fin cooling that has been experimentally studied by other researcher. Three types structured mesh from coarse (Δy+ = 11.83) to fine (Δy+ = 1.23) were applied for validation. Secondly, further investigation of the circular pin-fin cooling with in-line array was simulated by adopting the same scenario of mesh generation based on the optimum result from validation stage. Simulations were performed by keeping the same initials and boundary conditions as experiment, and varying Reynolds number between 9.000 and 36.000. The result indicates that the CFD predicted data can be considered acceptable by generating mesh up to 1.6 million elements with fine resolution (Δy+ = 1.23). The CFD predicted HTC and pressure loss are in good agreement with available experimental data, though over-prediction data is clearly seen after the second pin-fin row for warm simulation. By comparing the pin-fin array between “staggered” and “in-line”, it was found that the HTC of staggered array is higher than the in-line orientation. It is due to the staggered layout causes to intensify the coolant flow around the pin-fin. The HTC of pin-fins surface increases moderately along the cooling passage due to the increase of flow turbulence that caused by contraction channel and increasing Reynolds number.     AN EFFECTIVENESS SCAN OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH INSURANCE PROGRAM OF KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA

    This study target Health Insurance Program by government of KP, its budget allocation and utilization, level of awareness, and patient demographic profiles. The study also covers disease coverage and the minimum and maximum cost of the diseases. The study's population is the three major Medical Teaching Institutions (MTIs) of Peshawar. Sample of the study comprises 9,000 patients selected using purposive sampling approach from 2018 to 2020. The findings show that a lower average budget utilization ratio accounts for a lower level of public awareness. The study found that males dominate females by 55% in availing the Sehat Sahulat facility. The cardiac issue is the most common disease treated by the program. These findings are expected to assist policymakers in developing strategies for utilizing the program's resources. MTIs and insurance firms' managers may emphasize diseases cured and higher budget utilization ratios. Furthermore, policymakers may address less-covered areas and patient characteristics through awareness seminars to ensure the program's effectiveness. Finally, the study adds to the current literature by including imperial evidence from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; Pakistan in the program. Future studies may address comparative analysis of the said program with the other insurance coverage programs

    “RETENTION OF EMPLOYEES IN THE FAST-FOOD INDUSTRY IN PAKISTAN”

    This study identifies critical factors which have influence employee retention in the fast- foodpolicies in these organizations to retain staff at the floor level.Overall, the results give a fresh insight into the topic of retention industry. It adds to research studies on similar topics by exploring critical factors which have not been a regular part of the research, such as supervisor support and job security. Instead of taking employee turnover intention, this study takes a more direct approach by using the retention of employees as a dependent variable. The study confirms through quantitative analysis that three independent variables – Job Satisfaction, Brand Image, and Job Security have a significant impact on employee retention. In an unusual result, two other independent variables – Career Development and Supervisor Support have been found to have an insignificant impact on the employee retention in the fast-food industry. These results have been validated through online interviews with an Industry Specialist and a Food Researcher.Based on this study, it is recommended that Operations staff should have their jobs enriched with regular transfers to other areas like Finance, Marketing, and Purchasing. There is also an urgent need to reenergize the motivational levelof employees in the fast-food industry in Pakistan

    Keripik pisang yang dibuat dengan berbahan bonggol pisang memiliki potensi yang cukup besar untuk dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat sehingga dapat diolah menjadi produk olahan yang bernilai jual. Masalah yang sering dihadapi adalah tidak banyak masyarakat yang melakukan kegiatan produk olahan bonggol pisang setelah mengkonsumsi buah pisangnya. Hal itu menyebabkan pohon pisang dikonsumsi buahnya namun bonggolnya belum dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat sehingga dapat terbuang percuma tanpa adanya perhatian masyarakat untuk memanfaatkannya. Adapun beberapa solusi yang dilakukan adalah dengan diadakannya pelatihan pembuatan keripik bonggol pisang yang akan dilaksanakan dalam program PKM terdiri atas tiga tahapan, yaitu 1) sosialisasi manfaat kegiatan pengolahan bonggol pisang, 2) pelatihan pembuatan produk keripik bongol pisang, Harapan setelah diadakan kegiatan PKM ini adalah siswa-siswa SMKN 4 Gorntalo Utara dan masyarakat dapat memahami dan terampil dalam mengolah bonggol pisang  serta meningkatkan kualitas produk yang bernilai jual tinggi di pasar serta meningkatkan kesejahteraan ekonomi masyarakat

    Assessment of Bholari River Sand for its Geotechnical Characterization as Fine Aggregate

    Present study is aimed at assessment of Bholari river sand for its geotechnical characterization and suitability as fine aggregate which is being quarried in Jamshoro district, Sindh, Pakistan. For this purpose, sand samples (n=11) were collected from quarry sites and main river channel. Physical properties reveal that Bholari sand is mainly coarse to fine in size (0.2 mm-5 mm). Average values of fineness modulus, specific gravity, bulk density and void content of collected samples are 2.58, 2.56, 1659.90 kg/m3 and 35.12% respectively which varied within the corresponding permissible ranges of ACI (American Concrete Institute). Carbonate content of about 57.59% is also in agreement with corresponding range for fine aggregate. Petrographic examination revealed that Bholari River sand mainly comprises of quartz and rock fragments with subordinate limestone fragments. As per classification of Dott (1964), Bholari sand is lithic arenite where quartz (50%) occurs as main mineral followed by rock fragments (30%), feldspars (15%) and other opaque minerals (5%). Texturally, the sediments are angular (77%) to sub-round (33%). All these physical properties lie within the range set by National Highway Authority (NHA) and American Standard of Testing Material (ASTM). Hence, the objectives of this paper are to determine the level of acceptance and to establish the best alternative practice in implementing OHSAS 18001. Questionnaire surveys were used as the research method. It is hoped that the implementation of OHSAS 18001 can stimulate the atmosphere of safety culture towards sustainable construction in the Malaysian construction industry
