    Analysis of prestress concrete highway bridges with and without rubber bearing

    Malaysia has been using bridge rubber bearing in their practices to isolate vertical vibration from the movement of traffics. The bearings placed between the bridge decks and the upper side of columns are constructed to make sure the loading couldn’t affect the overall structure of bridge and other structures. In structural earthquake engineering, natural rubber and steel are used mainly in base isolator that is one of the energy dissipation systems to reduce earthquake effect on structures. With laminated natural rubber and steel, the bearing can provide very high vertical stiffness and very flexible in horizontal direction to make sure the mounts can support the loading from the structure and prevent excessive sideways from any horizontal loading especially when earthquake occur. Most bridges in Malaysia are multi-span simply supported where due to impact at the joints. In the design guidelines clearly state that, in Malaysia, no seismic consideration in bridges designing especially for JKR bridges. This study try to analyse the common JKR Bridge fewer than two types of Earthquake ground motion (San Fernando and El Centro Earthquake) and also Truck load. The overall objective of this study was to evaluate the linear response spectrum analysis of actual bridge: i.Evaluate the combined effect of longitudinal and transverse earthquake excitation on the response of actual JKR bridge using 2-D and 3-D models, ii.Determine the capacity/ demand ratios for various bridge components using JKR guidelines, and iii.Recommended possible modifications to the design of new bridges and response possible retrofit procedures for existing bridges

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tantangan implementasi program listrik pintar (prabayar) di Kecamatan Wonomulyo Kabupaten Polewali Mandar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualiatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Data yang dikumpulkan terdiri atas data primer dan data sekunder. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif dan pendekatan deskriptif teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara kepada informan dan juga melalui observasi dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa Implementasi Program Listrik Pintar Prabayar di Kecamatan Wonomulyo Kabupaten Polewali Mandar masih belum maksimal. Secara umum masyarakat Kecamatan Wonomulyo belum sepenuhnya beralih ke program listrik pintar prabayar karena dipengaruhi oleh berapa faktor salah satunya penyampaian informasi yang dilakukan oleh pihak PLN kurang masif dilakukan. Hal itu dibuktikan dengan proses penyebarluasan informasi yang tidak merata kepada masyarakat. Selain itu prosedur yang lamban serta fasilitas yang belum memadai menjadi faktor yang menyebabkan masyarakat tidak antusias untuk beralih ke program listrik pintar prabayar ini. Faktor lain juga berupa kurangnya pemahaman masyarakat tentang perhitungan biaya listrik yang digunakan pada listrik prabayar dan pascabayar

    Tapak warisan arkeologi yang terletak di sekitar Lembah Bujang mempunyai keunikan tersendiri terutama dari aspek nilai arkeopelancongan Negara. Namun, tapak-tapak ini mempunyai keunikan tersendiri yang perlu di ketengahkan. Tapak pertama yang di temui oleh James Low pada tahun 1840 –an menjadikan kawasan Lembah Bujang diberi tumpuan untuk penyelidikan seterusnya. Kertas kerja ini akan mengupas dan menonjolkan keistimewaan tapak warisan arkeologi Lembah Bujang untuk pengetahuan umum khususnya generasi muda. Tapak warisan yang terdiri daripada candi-candi di sekitar Lembah Bujang melebihi ratusan tahun merupakan sesuatu yang unik dan harus dibanggakan kerana di situlah tercetusnya nilai sejarah sesuatu tamadun bangsa. Kaedah penyelidikan bagi kertas kerja ini adalah berdasarkan kepada kaedah soal selidik dengan menggunakan data Statistical Package For Social Sciences (SPSS) yang telah dijalankan terhadap penduduk, pelancong di sekitar Lembah Bujang iaitu sebanyak 400 responden. Kajian ini mendapati bahawa lokasi pelancongan warisan dan sejarah menjadi tarikan utama arkeopelancongan di Lembah Bujang iaitu berasaskan tapak warisan arkeologi

    Faktor-faktor yang Memengaruhi Infertilitas pada Wanita di Klinik Fertilitas Endokrinologi Reproduksi

    Infertilitas adalah kegagalan untuk memperoleh kehamilan setelah 12 bulan atau lebih melakukan hubungan seksual secara teratur tanpa menggunakan alat kontrasepsi. Secara global diperkirakan adanya kasus infertilitas pada 8-10% pasangan. Infertilitas dikategorikan menjadi dua yaitu infertilitas primer dan infertilitas sekunder. Tingginya persentase faktor wanita yang menyebabkan infertilitas serta berdasarkan data terdapat beberapa faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi infertilitas pada wanita maka peneliti tertarik untuk meneliti faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi infertilitas pada wanita. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional deskriptif dengan desain cross sectional (potong lintang) berdasarkan data sekunder, yaitu rekam medik. Mayoritas (71%) wanita infertil dalam penelitian ini berada pada rentang umur 25-35 tahun. Sebanyak 66.1% wanita infertil merupakan wanita karir. Rata-rata wanita infertil (69.4%) berdomisili di Palembang. Mayoritas wanita infertil (61.3%) mengalami infertilitas lebih dari tiga tahun. Berdasarkan jenis infertilitas, sebanyak 79% merupakan infertilitas primer. Jenis pemeriksaan lanjutan yang paling banyak dilakukan adalah pemeriksaan USG dan Laparoskopi diagnostik. Endometriosis (25.6%) dan mioma uteri (20.2%) merupakan jenis penyakit penyerta yang paling banyak ditemukan pada wanita infertil. Jenis tatalaksana terbanyak yang dilakukan adalah dengan tindakan operatif (55%). Sebagian besar wanita infertil yang menjadi sampel dalam penelitian ini merupakan wanita infertil jenis infertilitas primer yang berumur 25-35 tahun dengan lama infertil diatas tiga tahun. Penyakit penyerta yang banyak ditemukan pada wanita infertil adalah endometriosis dan mioma uteri

This research aims to analyze the effect of Servicescape on customer loyalty, the impact of Servicescape on service quality, the impact of service quality on customer loyalty, and the impact of Servicescape on customer loyalty mediated by service quality. This research uses a quantitative method approach. The unit of analysis in this study was all female members of the Padalarang Partnership Village Cooperative in 2016, totaling 125 people consisting of active and passive female members. The population in this study amounted to 125 people and a set precision or a significance level of 0.05, so the sample size in this study was 95 members as respondents. This study was analyzed using multiple linear regression for verification analysis. The findings in this study are Servicescape affects service quality, service quality affects the loyalty of female members, and Servicescape affects the loyalty of female members

    Inter-Row Tree Detection and Tracking Schemes For Structural Plantation Area

    In this work, an inter-row tree detection and tracking techniques based on Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) method is developed specifically for a well-structures agricultural field where the trees are planted uniformly with certain distance that leaves it with a number of inter-row spaces. The existing rows has created opportunities for an autonomous vehicle to navigate in between the trees to perform the plantation activities such as scouting, monitoring, rowing, pesticide spraying and others. A new approach to detect the landmarks and navigate in the farm based on the lightweight sensors and less computation effort is proposed. In this method, the tree detection and diameter estimation techniques implement the modified tree-triangle diameter technique by using innovative technique based on infrared sensors. Then, in substituting the GPS signal problems during the navigation and localization problems, a curve-based navigation approach is formulated. The path is planned based on the third-polynomial Bezier curve by projecting series of waypoints to create a solid path from one point to another. Then, the trajectory plan is derived for the autonomous vehicle to follow these waypoints during the navigation. At the same time, the mapping technique implements the memory utilization method in order to ease the localization process as well as landmarks mapping in the visual map which is oriented in two-dimensional coordinate format. All of these functions are created, formulated and tested thoroughly in the embedded microcontroller development board platform by using dsPIC30F6014A chip on the omnidirectional vehicle platform

    Performance of Ultra High Frequency Gen2 Passive Tags Radio Frequency Identification in chemical laboratory environment

    This research analyzes the performance of Ultra High Frequency (UHF) Gen2 Passive Tags Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology as sensing device in chemical laboratory environment. The purpose of this paper is to verify the effectiveness of using RFID for tracking chemical bottles during inventory process in a laboratory. In most laboratories, the chemical tracking process is still being done manually which is very time consuming. The advantages of RFID operaton will help to enhance the effectiveness of chemical inventory management and reduce the process time. An experiment in a laboratory was done to verify the performance of detection rate according to the specifications stated in the manual data sheet. Pre-programmed RFID passive tags were affixed onto chemical bottles and then scanned using RFID reader to detect all output data in a controlled environment. The result showed that certain conditions such as material of the container, tag-reader orientation and the size of chemical bottles play important role to get detected for this type of RFID. From the result, the paper suggested some guidelines to be taken care of during scanning process to get higher percentage of reading rates

    The management of a chemical inventory is necessary for safety purposes as well as for fulfilling regulatory compliance. In most academic laboratories, the management of chemicals is still being done manually, which is time-consuming. As a result, data are not updated and expired chemicals are unintentionally used. This research proposes that UHF Class 1 Gen 2 Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology be used in the development of a chemical inventory information system to ease chemical tracking as well as to shorten the inventory process time. An information system integrating RFID data and a web-based rule identification interface was developed. WAMP 2.2.17, PHP 5.3.5 and MySQL 5.5.8 were downloaded and a programming language was written to check the expiration date of the chemicals as well as to produce alert notification status. Wireless technology through GSM modem helped in producing alert messages using the Short Message System (SMS) of the nearly expired chemicals to the handphone of the person in charge in real time
