    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis profitability, leverage, growth, dan free cash flow terhadap dividen payout ratio Perusahaan dengan mempertimbangkan corporate governance sebagai variabel intervening. Subjek penelitian ini adalah Perusahaan yang dirangking oleh Indonesian Institute for Corporate Governance (IICG) tahun 2006-2011 yang mempublikasikan laporan keuangan di 31 Desember. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 81 Perusahaan yang dipilih dengan purposive sampling method. Alat analisis adalah simple regression dan path analysis. Penelitian ini menemukan hanya tiga hipotesis yang diterima, hipotesis lainnya ditolak. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa profitability tidak berpengaruh terhadap dividend payout ratio, leverage berpengaruh negatif terhadap dividen payout ratio, growth berpengaruh negatif terhadap dividend payment ratio, free cash flow berpengaruh positif terhadap dividend payout ratio, tidak ada pengaruh positif probitability terhadap corporate governance, leverage positif mempengaruhi corporate governance, growth tidak berpengaruh positif terhadap corporate governance, free cash flow tidak berpengaruh terhadap corporate governance, corporate governance tidak berpengaruh terhadap dividend payout ratio, dan corporate governance diterima untuk ditambahkan dalam model sebagai variabel intervening

    Structure Community of Mangrove at Tabulo Selatan Beach, Boalemo Regency

    This study aims to know the community structure of mangrove and the environmental condition in South Tabulo coast. Mean temperature at station 1, 2, and 3 was 310C, and water salinity varied between 28-30 ‰. Water pH was averagely 7 in all stations. Substrate measurements were visually done and through touches. Stations 1 and 2 had sandy muddy substrates, while station 3 was muddy. Mangroves of tree criterion were found 122 individuals of 7 species, Avicennia lanata, A. marina, Rhizophora apiculata, R. mucronata, Sonneratia alba, Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, and Ceriops tagal. Field observations showed that the highest species density was recorded in R. mucronata. The highest species frequency was found in S. alba, R. apiculata, and R. mucronata, while the highest species cover and importance value index were recorded in S. alba and R. apiculata dan R. mucronata. Based on diversity index, it was found that only 7 species were found in the study sites and it belonged to good condition. It indicates that the study sites are still in good ecological condition.Abstrak Keywords : Mangrove, community, Boalemo, diversity, importance value. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui struktur komunitas mangrove serta kondisi lingkungan di Pantai Tabulo Selatan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian di Pantai Tabulo Selatan untuk pengukuran suhu pada stasiun 1, 2, dan 3 diperoleh hasil rata-rata 310C, dengan salinitas bervariasi antara 28-30 ‰. Pengukuran pH air pada semua stasiun pengamatan diperoleh hasil rata-rata 7. Pengamatan substrat dilakukan secara visual dengan cara meraba tekstur substrat pada setiap stasiun, dan substrat yang terdapat di lokasi penelitian pada stasiun 1 dan 2 adalah lumpur berpasir, pada stasiun 3 berlumpur. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pada semua stasiun dengan kriteria pohon telah ditemukan 122 individu dari 7 spesies yang ditemukan yaitu Avicennia lanata, Avicennia marina, Rhizophora apiculata, R. mucronata, Sonneratia alba, Bruguiera gymnorrhiza dan Ceriops tagal. Berdasarkan pengamatana lapangan, kerapatan spesies tertinggi dimiliki oleh spesies Rhizophora mucronata, frekuensi spesies tertinggi dimiliki spesies S. alba, R. apiculata dan Rhizophora mucronata, penutupan spesies dan indeks nilai penting didapati spesies Sonneratia alba, Rhizophora apiculata dan R. mucronata.. Berdasarkan indeks keanekaragaman dapat dilihat bahwa hanya ada 7 spesies yang didapatkan pada lokasi penelitian dan termasuk dalam kriteria keanekaragaman baik. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa di lokasi penelitian masih dalam kondisi ekologis yang cukup baik

    Antimicrobial activity of three medicinal plants (Artemisia indica, Medicago falcate and Tecoma stans)

    Background: Artemisia indica, Medicago falcata and Tecoma stans are traditionally being use for medicinal purposes in Pakistan. Present study was designed to check in-vitro efficacy of these plants against selected bacterial and fungal strains.Methodology: Chloroform, butanol, ethyl acetate and n-hexane extracts of these plants were used for antimicrobial screening. Antibacterial activity was tested against four pathogenic bacterial strains i.e. Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella typhi and Staphylococcus aureus while antifungal activity was tested against four fungal strains i.e. Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus fumigatus and Fusarium solani.Results: Chloroform, butanol and ethyl acetate extracts of Artemisia indica, Medicago falcata and Tecoma stans showed high inhibitory activities (between 15-20 mm) against E. coli, P. aeruginosa and S. aureus. However, all extracts of Artemisia indica showed inhibitory activities (12-14 mm) against Salmonella typhi. As antifungal activities, the n-Hexane and chloroform extracts of Artemisia indica have completely inhibited the growth of Aspergillus flavus and Fusariun solani, respectively. Ethyl acetate and butanol extract of Medicago falcata completely inhibited Fusarium solani and Aspergillus fumigates, respectively. The n-hexane extract of Tecoma stans completely inhibited Fusarium solani, while its ethyl acetate extract shows excellent activity against Aspergillus niger.Conclusions: These findings provide scientific evidence of traditional use of medicinal plants and also indicate the potential of these plants for the development of antimicrobial agents.Key words: Medicinal Plants, Traditional uses, phytochemical effects, Antimicrobial activity

    Computer Vision Based Robotic Polishing Using Artificial Neural Networks

    Polishing is a highly skilled manufacturing process with a lot of constraints and interaction with environment. In general, the purpose of polishing is to get the uniform surface roughness distributed evenly throughout part’s surface. In order to reduce the polishing time and cope with the shortage of skilled workers, robotic polishing technology has been investigated. This paper studies about vision system to measure surface defects that have been characterized to some level of surface roughness. The surface defects data have learned using artificial neural networks to give a decision in order to move the actuator of arm robot. Force and rotation time have chosen as output parameters of artificial neural networks. Results shows that although there is a considerable change in both parameter values acquired from vision data compared to real data, it is still possible to obtain surface defects characterization using vision sensor to a certain limit of accuracy. The overall results of this research would encourage further developments in this area to achieve robust computer vision based surface measurement systems for industrial robotic, especially in polishing proces

    Coral Fishes the Famili Chaetodontidae in Coral Reef Waters of Para Island Sub District Tatoareng, Sangihe Kepulauan Regency

    This study aims to determine the distribution and abundance of reef fish families chaetodontidae in coral reef waters of Para Island Sub District Tatoareng. This study was conducted at 4 stations. Data collected was done using visual census on the 50-meter transect line at 5 meters depth. In addition to revealing the number of species and abundance of individuals chaetodontidae, data analysis aimed to determine number of species, individual abundance, and the community index. Based on the identification, obtained 27 species from 3 genera and 217 number of individuals. The highest number of species found at station Para 1. 7 species are always found in all observation stations, Chaetodon kleinii, C. punctatofasciatus, C. lunulatus, C. trifascialis, C. vagabundus, Heniochus varius, H. chrysostomus. The species with the largest number of individuals that is Chaetodon kleinii (45 individuals). Chaetodontidae fish species diversity index ranged between 2.207-2.866. Dominance Index are categorized low in the range of 0.078-0.122. Similarity index are categorized high in the range of 0.922-0.971

    Chiral fermion mass and dispersion relations at finite temperature in the presence of hypermagnetic fields

    We study the modifications to the real part of the thermal self-energy for chiral fermions in the presence of a constant external hypermagnetic field. We compute the dispersion relation for fermions occupying a given Landau level to first order in g'^2, g^2 and g_phi^2 and to all orders in g'B, where g' and g are the U(1)_Y and SU(2)_L couplings of the standard model, respectively, g_phi is the fermion Yukawa coupling, and B is the hypermagnetic field strength. We show that in the limit where the temperature is large compared to sqrt{g'B}, left- and right-handed modes acquire finite and different B-dependent masses due to the chiral nature of their coupling with the external field. Given the current bounds on the strength of primordial magnetic fields, we argue that the above is the relevant scenario to study the effects of magnetic fields on the propagation of fermions prior and during the electroweak phase transition.Comment: 11 pages 4 figures, published versio

    Regional Climate Trends and Scenarios for the U.S. National Climate Assessment Part 4. Climate of the U.S. Great Plains

    This document is one of series of regional climate descriptions designed to provide input that can be used in the development of the National Climate Assessment (NCA). As part of a sustained assessment approach, it is intended that these documents will be updated as new and well-vetted model results are available and as new climate scenario needs become clear. It is also hoped that these documents (and associated data and resources) are of direct benefit to decision makers and communities seeking to use this information in developing adaptation plans. There are nine reports in this series, one each for eight regions defined by the NCA, and one for the contiguous U.S. The eight NCA regions are the Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, Great Plains, Northwest, Southwest, Alaska, and Hawai‘i/Pacific Islands. These documents include a description of the observed historical climate conditions for each region and a set of climate scenarios as plausible futures – these components are described in more detail below. While the datasets and simulations in these regional climate documents are not, by themselves, new, (they have been previously published in various sources), these documents represent a more complete and targeted synthesis of historical and plausible future climate conditions around the specific regions of the NCA. There are two components of these descriptions. One component is a description of the historical climate conditions in the region. The other component is a description of the climate conditions associated with two future pathways of greenhouse gas emissions

    Longitudinal and transverse fermion-boson vertex in QED at finite temperature in the HTL approximation

    We evaluate the fermion-photon vertex in QED at the one loop level in Hard Thermal Loop approximation and write it in covariant form. The complete vertex can be expanded in terms of 32 basis vectors. As is well known, the fermion-photon vertex and the fermion propagator are related through a Ward-Takahashi Identity (WTI). This relation splits the vertex into two parts: longitudinal (Gamma_L) and transverse (Gamma_T). Gamma_L is fixed by the WTI. The description of the longitudinal part consumes 8 of the basis vectors. The remaining piece Gamma_T is then written in terms of 24 spin amplitudes. Extending the work of Ball and Chiu and Kizilersu et. al., we propose a set of basis vectors T^mu_i(P_1,P_2) at finite temperature such that each of these is transverse to the photon four-momentum and also satisfies T^mu_i(P,P)=0, in accordance with the Ward Identity, with their corresponding coefficients being free of kinematic singularities. This basis reduces to the form proposed by Kizilersu et. al. at zero temperature.     Efficient Parallel Statistical Model Checking of Biochemical Networks

    We consider the problem of verifying stochastic models of biochemical networks against behavioral properties expressed in temporal logic terms. Exact probabilistic verification approaches such as, for example, CSL/PCTL model checking, are undermined by a huge computational demand which rule them out for most real case studies. Less demanding approaches, such as statistical model checking, estimate the likelihood that a property is satisfied by sampling executions out of the stochastic model. We propose a methodology for efficiently estimating the likelihood that a LTL property P holds of a stochastic model of a biochemical network. As with other statistical verification techniques, the methodology we propose uses a stochastic simulation algorithm for generating execution samples, however there are three key aspects that improve the efficiency: first, the sample generation is driven by on-the-fly verification of P which results in optimal overall simulation time. Second, the confidence interval estimation for the probability of P to hold is based on an efficient variant of the Wilson method which ensures a faster convergence. Third, the whole methodology is designed according to a parallel fashion and a prototype software tool has been implemented that performs the sampling/verification process in parallel over an HPC architecture
