Czasopisma dla dzieci jako narzędzie edukacji (nie tylko) czytelniczej

Głównym celem artykułu jest odpowiedź na pytanie, w jaki sposób czasopisma dla dzieci mogą być narzędziem edukacji medialnej, rozumianej jako wychowanie do odbioru środków przekazu, ale również jako budowanie nawyku czytelnictwa prasy i książek. Hipoteza: W literaturze przedmiotu powszechnie przyjmuje się, że prasa dla dzieci może być efektywnym narzędziem budowania nawyku czytelnictwa. Jednak ten segment rynku prasowego, podobnie jak pozostałe, musi zmagać się z tendencjami do spadku czytelnictwa prasy i książki w zderzeniu z ekspansją mediów cyfrowych. Metodologia: Autor analizuje dane zastane (m.in. raporty z badań) oraz opracowania naukowe z zakresu wpływu mediów, pedagogiki, edukacji medialnej oraz psychologii mediów. Artykuł ma charakter teoretyczny. Jest osadzony w dyscyplinie „nauki o komunikacji społecznej i mediach”, ale ma charakter interdyscyplinarny z uwagi na odniesienia do pedagogiki, edukacji i zagadnień technologicznych.The main purpose of the article is to answer how magazines for children can be a tool of media literacy – defined as knowledge in media reception; also, as building the habit of reading and buying magazines. Hypothesis: In literature, it is widely accepted that the press for children can be an effective tool for building reading habits. However, this area of press market must struggle with downfall in readership of the printed media in confrontation with the expansion of digital ones. Methodology: The author analyzes existing data (including reports) and scientific research from media studies, pedagogy, media education and media psychology. It is a review article. It is embedded in media studies, but is due to its references to pedagogy, education and technological issues, it can be considered interdisciplinary

Pluralizm wartości jako wyzwanie dla wychowania

W kolejnym interdyscyplinarnym tomie dokumentującym działalność uniwersyteckiego Ośrodka Badawczego Myśli Chrześcijańskiej zaprezentowano teksty pracowników różnych uczelni: KUL, UKSW, WSD w Łodzi, UW, UMCS oraz UŁ. Prace te stanowią efekt refleksji kręgów akademickich nad relacjami między tytułowymi kategoriami (kultura – myśl – edukacja), podejmowanej z perspektywy różnych dziedzin nauki – teologii, religioznawstwa i literaturoznawstwa. Autorzy odwołują się do wielorakich kontekstów kulturowych świadczących o dialogu Kościoła ze światem kultury i nauki, takich jak: myśl papieska, ekumenizm, teologia piękna i duchowości, inspiracje chrześcijańskie w literaturze, dyskurs religijny. Tytuł tomu zaczerpnięty został z adhortacji papieża Franciszka, który kieruje swoje przesłanie także do kręgów akademickich. W jego przekonaniu zarówno dziedziny nauki, jak i kategorie myślenia mogą stać się narzędziami ewangelizacji, a teologia – pozostawać w dialogu z innymi naukami i ludzkim doświadczeniem

A Blog – a Place of Expressing Yourself or rather Creating a Virtual Identity?

‘Writing a blog’ – these words pertain to the communicative situation which, since it raises a number of questions, is only seemingly simple. For instance, what is the difference between a blog and a traditional daily? What kind of relation exists between a blogger and a reader? And finally, does a blog represent the reflection of an author’s real identity; or maybe it is the network environment that makes a blogger create his or her new identity, very often a fake one? Structural and textural evolution of zirconia nanocrystals induced by thermal treatment

Nanometric tetragonal and monoclinic zirconia was synthesized from zirconyl chloride by the modified forced hydrolysis method. Phase transitions and morphological changes accompanying zirconia calcination in the temperaure range 600–1000 °C were studied by XRD, HR-TEM techniques and N2-porosimetry. Ageing of the amorphous hydrous zirconia at 100 °C for 48 h in the mother solution and its subsequent calcination at 600 °C for 6 h strongly favoured formation of single-phase tetragonal ZrO2 of the thermal stability enhanced by 250 °C. Influence of the calcination temperature on phase composition, grain size, grain boundaries and pore structure of the resultant ZrO2 material was analyzed

Krytyczna ocena przydatności indeksu fenolowego jako miary zawartości związków fenolowych w wodzie : zastosowanie biosensora

A Critical View on the Phenol Index as a Measure of Phenol Compounds Content in Waters. Application of a BiosensorPhenol index is considered as an important indicator of water purity and quality. Usually phenol index is determined by a spectrophotometric method the calibration being based on phenol standards. Unfortunately, the absorptivities of different phenols compounds differ from each other. This leads to significant uncertainty concerning content of phenols in water. It is shown that the same shortage of the phenol index appears also if it is determined using an amperometric biosensor based on tyrosinase. The sensitivity of the biosensor response to four phenol compounds: phenol, catechol, 3-cresol and 4-chlorophenol was examined, as well as possible interactions between phenols, according to 24factorial experiment. It was proved that individual phenols affect phenol index independently from each other,ieno significant interaction between phenols was detected. However, sensitivity of the biosensor to different phenols is not the same. Relationship between phenol index and concentrations of phenols in water is discussed.</jats:p
