The HIM Career Matrix: Illuminating a Framework for Professional Advancement
This project sought out to develop the first, Canadian HIM career matrix in order to:
1. Support a common language to describe the seven core competency areas in which HIM professionals can work;
2. Describe new and evolving roles in HIM in Canada;3. Provide information on advanced career options available within our profession; and4. Seek consensus around the common functions performed by Canadian HIM professional

Copyright © 2003 by the Genetics Society of AmericaMutations in the acrB gene, which were originally selected through their resistance to acriflavine, also result in reduced growth on a range of sole carbon sources, including fructose, cellobiose, raffinose, and starch, and reduced utilization of Ï-amino acids, including GABA and Ă-alanine, as sole carbon and nitrogen sources. The acrB2 mutation suppresses the phenotypic effects of mutations in the creB gene that encodes a regulatory deubiquitinating enzyme, and in the creC gene that encodes a WD40-repeat-containing protein. Thus AcrB interacts with a regulatory network controlling carbon source utilization that involves ubiquitination and deubiquitination. The acrB gene was cloned and physically analyzed, and it encodes a novel protein that contains three putative transmembrane domains and a coiled-coil region. Hot QCD equations of state and RHIC
We show how hot QCD equations of states can be adapted to make definite
predictions for quark-gluon plasma at RHIC. We consider equations of state up
to and . Our method involves the extraction of
equilibrium distribution functions for gluons and quarks from these equations
of state by capturing the the interaction effects entirely in the effective
chemical potentials. We further utilize these distribution functions to study
the screening length in hot QCD and dissociation phenomenon of heavy quarkonia
states by combining this understanding with the semi-classical transport

Effects of Supplementing Lactating, June-calving Cows on Second-calf Pregnancy Rates
A two year experiment evaluated the influence of supplementation pre-breeding on second-calf pregnancy rates in June-calving heifers. For 60 days before start of the breeding season, heifers were assigned to one of two treatments: supplementation of dried distillers grains (1.5 lb/day) to meet energy and metabolizable protein requirements or unsupplemented control. Supplementation improved body condition score during the supplementation period and resulted in increased body condition score at weaning. In year 1, feeding supplement to the dam did not change calf weight gain but feeding supplement increased calf weight in year 2. Pregnancy rates were 90% and not changed by supplementation

Interviewer: 'Are women and girls ever responsible for the domestic violence they encounter?' Student: 'No, well, unless they did something really, really badââŠ'
Research shows the âgendered natureâ of domestic violence, with Womenâs Aid (a UK-based charity) estimating that 1 in 4 women are affected (2014). This paper reports on a project - funded by Comic Relief, completed by Nottinghamshire Domestic Violence Forum (now known as Equation) and evaluated by Nottingham Trent University. The project adopts a Whole School Approach in seeking to prevent domestic violence. Students at three secondary schools attended between one and five blocks of work, and special events. There is evidence of positive developments - with young people showing understanding of domestic violence as well as the margins between healthy and unhealthy relationships. However, not all students could reply âneverâ to the question of âare women and girls to blame for the domestic violence they experience?â, remarking that if the woman had done something âreally, really badâ then violence might be justified. We argue that young peopleâs uncertainties need to be situated within the gender-unequal socio-contexts of contemporary society, and further call for a WSA to domestic violence prevention to be a compulsory part of the UK national curriculum
Overview of Hard processes at RHIC: high-pt light hadron and charm production
An overview of the experimental results on high-pt light hadron production
and open charm production is presented. Data on particle production in
elementary collisions are compared to next-to-leading order perturbative QCD
calculations. Particle production in Au+Au collisions is then compared to this
