Fingerprinting Attack on Tor Anonymity using Deep Learning
Tor is free software that enables anonymouscommunication. It defends users against traffic analysis andnetwork surveillance. It is also useful for confidential businessactivities and state security. At the same time, anonymizedprotocols have been used to access criminal websites such as thosedealing with illegal drugs. This paper proposes a new method forlaunching a fingerprinting attack to analyze Tor traffic in orderto detect users who access illegal websites. Our new method isbased on Stacked Denoising Autoencoder, a deep-learningtechnology. Our evaluation results show 0.88 accuracy in aclosed-world test. In an open-world test, the true positive rate is0.86 and the false positive rate is 0.02
Studying Very Light Gravitino at the ILC
A collider signal with a stable gravitino of eV mass at the
International Linear Collider (ILC) experiment is investigated. Such a light
gravitino is generally predicted in the low-scale gauge mediation scenario of
the supersymmetry breaking. We particularly focus on the case that the next
lightest supersymmetric particle is stau, which eventually decays into a
gravitino and a -lepton. With such a small gravitino mass, the lifetime
of the stau is --sec, and the produced stau decays before
reaching the first layer of the inner detector of the ILC. It is shown,
however, that the lifetime can be determined from the distribution of the
impact parameter, which is obtained by observing charged tracks caused by decay
products of the -lepton. This measurement also enables us to estimate the
mass of the gravitino and determine the scale of the supersymmetry breaking.
Based on a simulation study, we found that the lifetime can be measured when it
is longer than sec and the stau mass is about 100GeV.Comment: 10 pages, 5 figure
The Diagnostic Value of the Interstitial Biomarkers KL-6 and SP-D for the Degree of Fibrosis in Combined Pulmonary Fibrosis and Emphysema
The combined pulmonary fibrosis and emphysema (CPFE) was reported first in 1990, but it has been comparatively underestimated until recently. Although the diagnostic findings of both emphysematous and fibrotic regions are detectable by high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) of the chest, the degree of progressive fibrosis, which increases with emphysematous lesions, is difficult to evaluate. In this study, we hypothesized that the biomarkers for pulmonary fibrosis, surfactant protein D (SP-D), and KL-6 would serve as good indicators of fibrotic lesions in CPFE. We recruited 46 patients who had been diagnosed in our hospital with both emphysema and fibrosis by their CT scan image from April 2003 to March 2008. The correlation among their pulmonary function tests, composite physiologic index (CPI), and the serum levels of SP-D and KL-6 was evaluated. We found a correlation between KL-6 and %VC, %TLC, or CPI and between SP-D and %VC or CPI. Interestingly, the combined product of KL-6 and SP-D (KL-6xSP-D) was found to highly correlate with %VC and %TLC or CPI. These results show that both KL-6 and SP-D, and especially the product of SP-D and KL-6, are good indicators of the presence of fibrotic lesions in the lungs of CPFE patients
Evaluation of single silicon vacancy centers in nanodiamonds created by ion implantation at cryogenic temperatures
Silicon vacancy (SiV) centers in diamonds have attracted much attention because of their stability and narrow emission linewidth, and are promising for applications in quantum information technology. SiV-center-encapsulated nanodiamonds have also attracted much attention because of their potential to be coupled to various photonic devices. One efficient way to fabricate nanodiamonds that contain SiV centers is Si ion implantation into nanodiamonds. However, the evaluation of a single SiV center in a nanodiamond produced by this method at low temperatures has not been performed. In this study, we report on the optical properties of a single SiV center in a nanodiamond produced by ion implantation at cryogenic temperatures. The emission spectrum from a single SiV center (g²(0) = 0.19) was observed with four distinct fine splittings of the zero-phonon line (ZPL) at 4 K. At an excitation power of 50µW, the full width at half maximum of the ZPL reached the spectrometer resolution limit (0.09 nm). The temperature dependence of the emission peak is consistent with that of the emission coming from an SiV center under high strain. The results obtained in this work suggest that nanodiamonds containing single SiV centers formed using this method will be an important building block for the realization of quantum information applications
Clinical characteristics of tuberculosis patients in a tertiary hospital
We retrospectively assessed the clinical characteristics of tuberculosis patients in a tertiary hospital. The subjects consisted of 80 patients who Mycobacterium tuberculosis was isolated from clinical specimens and who received a definite diagnosis of tuberculosis in our tertiary hospital without isolated bedrooms between January 2010 and June 2018. The average age of the 80 patients was 68.3 years old, consisting of 43 males and 37 females (6 non-Japanese). Sixty-eight patients had underlying diseases, and malignant diseases were most frequently recognized. Seven patients were diagnosed as outpatients and the remaining patients were diagnosed after admission. The final diagnose consisted of 56 patients with pulmonary tuberculosis and 35 patients with extrapulmonary tuberculosis (tuberculous lymphadenitis, tuberculous pleurisy, miliary tuberculosis, etc.). Concerning the results of interferon-γ release assays (IGRAs), while the positive response rate of QFT was 75%, that of T-SPOT was 81%. The clinical specimens used to diagnose tuberculosis were as follows: expectorated sputum, 26 patients; bronchoscopic specimens, 32; biopsy tissue, 17; and others, 5. The interval from the first consultation to diagnosis was three months at the maximum and within one month in most patients. Regarding radiological findings, pulmonary lesions including miliary tuberculosis showed various atypical findings: 39 of 66 patients with bilateral lesions; 50 with no cavity lesion; and 13 with the extent of the lesion exceeding the unilateral lung field. Tuberculosis patients in our tertiary hospital had many underlying diseases such as malignant or autoimmune diseases and were receiving immunosuppressive treatment. Therefore, because IGRAs do not always show a positive response and radiological findings also do not show typical findings, it is important to investigate acid-fast bacilli for various clinical specimens and actively perform diagnostic methods including bronchoscopy in order to prevent nosocomial infection

Rap.Abstract: The present work aims to analyze the representation of women in feminist rap lyrics and how these could be taught in the Brazilian context of teaching German as a Foreign Language (GFL). Among the rap lyrics chosen for analysis - "Die Gretchenfrage" from Austrian Rapper Yasmo, "Die Freundin von" from German Rapper Sookee, "Sand in die Augen" from German Rapper Danger Dan and "Gelernt" from the diverse band Käptn Peng & Die Tentakel von Delphi - there are some sung from a male perspective. After a theoretical discussion about the particularities of the rap as a textual genre and the current questions about the insertion of this genre in textbooks and in the classroom, an analysis of the four rap lyrics that make up the corpus is presented. This analysis considers feminist discourses today and is based on the method of discursive analysis of texts in German language proposed by Claus Altmayer (2007), as well as on the concept of Critical Literacy. Based on the analysis performed, the present work shows that women are portrayed in a situation of vulnerability and empowerment at the same time. This work aims to answer the following research questions: What didactic relevance do feminist rap lyrics have for teaching GFL in the Brazilian context? What patterns of women's image interpretation can be reconstructed in feminist rap lyrics? How can feminist rap lyrics be used to address gender equality in the GFL classroom? Finally, some exercises for the insertion of rap lyrics analyzed in the present work in the teaching of GFL in a Brazilian context are proposed. Keywords: German as a foreign language.
AIM: Patients with severe aortic stenosis (AS) may have bleeding episodes due to the loss of high-molecular-weight (HMW) von Willebrand factor multimers (VWFMs). The absence of HMW-VWFMs and bleeding tendency are usually corrected after aortic valve replacement (AVR). To investigate the process of VWFM recovery and symptoms in patients with severe AS, we analyzed changes in VWF antigen (VWF:Ag), ADAMTS13 activity (ADAMTS13:AC), and platelet thrombus formation under high shear stress conditions. METHODS: Nine patients with severe AS undergoing AVR were analyzed. RESULTS: Evident deficiency of HMW-VWFMs was observed in six patients before surgery, which was rapidly restored within 8 days after AVR. Median levels of VWF:Ag before surgery, on postoperative days (PODs) 1, 8, 15, and 22, and one year after AVR were 78.1%, 130%, 224%, 155%, 134%, and 142%, respectively. In contrast, ADAMTS13:AC was 50.5%, 35.5%, 25.5%, 25.1%, 30.3%, and 84.6%, respectively. Preoperative thrombus formation but not surface coverage was significantly lower than that on POD 22, which was considered as normal level in each patient. Compared with preoperative levels, thrombus volume was significantly lower on POD 1, but rapidly increased by POD 8. CONCLUSION: Bleeding tendency and loss of HMW-VWFMs observed in patients with severe AS before surgery was rapidly corrected after AVR. Instead, patients were in a VWF-predominant state between POD 8 and 22.博士(医学)・乙第1395号・平成29年3月15日Copyright © 2016 Japan Atherosclerosis Society本論文の著作権は日本動脈硬化学会が保持しています。This article is distributed under the terms of the latest version of CC BY-NC-SA defined by the Creative Commons Attribution License
ELECTROPORATION OF BOVINE BLASTOCYSTS
The introduction of exogenous molecules into embryos is required for analyses of molecular dynamics and specific gene functions during early embryonic development. Electroporation is an effective method to transport exogenous molecules into cells, but is rarely used in bovine embryos. First, we evaluated the viability of in vivo-derived bovine blastocysts after electroporation with fluorescein (FAM) labeled-oligonucleotides with varying pulse numbers (3, 5, 7, and 10), while keeping the pulse duration at 1 msec and the electric field of 20 V/mm. Next, we examined the effects of zona pellucida status on blastocyst quality after electroporation, by comparing the average diameter of blastocysts before and after electroporation using blastocysts with intact zona pellucida and hatching/hatched blastocysts. Electroporation successfully introduced exogenous molecules into in vivo-derived bovine blastocysts without loss of viability. Moreover, the status of the zona pellucida may be associated with the quality of blastocysts after electroporation
Clearance and Safety of the Radiocontrast Medium Iopamidol in Peritoneal Dialysis Patients
Although the characteristics and safety of radiocontrast media in peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients are not yet well defined, their use in PD patients is considered generally safe. In this study, we evaluated clearance and adverse events of iopamidol in PD patients. We measured the iopamidol concentration in the plasma, dialysate, and urine of 11 patients. Iopamidol clearance from patient plasma was delayed with a half-life of 33.3 h, and the elimination ratio was 83.6% for 96 h. We retrospectively investigated adverse events occurring in a total of 50 stable PD patients who underwent a total of 64 angiographic computed tomography (CT) scans. In 64 angiographic CT scans, two cases of adverse events were observed. Our results suggest that iopamidol can be eliminated by regular PD and careful observation for adverse events are necessary for the safe use of radiocontrast media
