Inner Waves Characteristics in a Stratified Ventilated Environment (The Effect of Momentum Jet)
An experimental work was carried out to investigate the effect of inner waves on the stability of flow characteristics in ventilated space. Theoretical and experimental techniques were presented. Energy dissipation by waves and its effect on the performance of ventilation was considered. Analysis of engineering systems in the bases of the internal waves and thermal concept was considered to find out the best ventilation process. The mixing process was investigated experimentally using a turbulent round jet impinged from the ceiling on the inner wave’s zone. It was carried out at a flow Reynolds number of 7,000< Re <30,000 and a flow Richardson number of 0< Ri< 200 based on the local jet scales. In the mixing process a hot and cold air are introduced to a confined space, to mix in the ventilated space to break down the waves. The results showed that the amount of momentum needed is depending on the wave’s amplitude, frequency and flow conditions. It can be seen that the jet momentum has significant influence on breaking down the inner waves and mixing the flow. Keywords: inner waves, stability, ventilated space, Energy dissipatio
Meningkatkan Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis melalui Pembelajaran Statistika Berbasis Pendidikan Politik di Lingkungan Sekolah
Maraknya lembaga hasil survei elektabilitas capres maupun caleg dalam bentuk grafik statistik, menyadarkan masyarakat akan pentingnya kemampuan melek statistika atau dikenal dengan literasi statistika. Sebagai seorang pendidik, guru memiliki peranan penting dalam membekali siswa dengan kemampuan literasi statistika. Kemampuan literasi statistika sangat berguna untuk meningkatkan kamampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Kemampuan literasi statistika ini akan berguna bagi pemilih pemula yang masih duduk di bangku Sekolah Menengah Atas atau sederajat. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini merupakan penelitian studi kepustakaan (library research). Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian meliputi 3 tahapan, organize, synthesize, dan identify. Dalam penelitian ini, akan disampaikan urgensi dan upaya peningkatan kemampuan literasi statistika dengan model pembelajaran matematika yang dikolaborasikan dengan pendidikan politik di lingkungan sekolah.

The increasing amount of number of electability survey result on president and vice president election in form of graphs, emerged peoples thinking on the importance of statistical literacy. As an educator, teacher has an important role in facilitating students with statistical literacy. Additionally, the skill of statistical literacy is important to enhance students critical thinking. It also has contribution to the voters especially the beginners who are the senior high school students. The method used in this research was library research. Data analysis used consisted of three phases: organize, synthesize, and identify. Through this study, the significance of statistical literacy and the effort to enhance it by conducting learning integrated with politics education in school were elaborated.

The performance of modified jatropha-based nanofluid during turning process
The industry's extensive use of petroleum-based metalworking fluid (MWF) harms the environment
and humans. The production of bio-based MWF, especially from crude jatropha oil (CJO), has therefore taken
numerous initiatives. This aimed to formulate newly modified jatropha oil (MJO) with the addition of 0.05wt.%
hBN and 0.05wt.% MoS2 as the nanofluid for MWF. The performance of the nanofluids was determined
through the turning process in terms of cutting temperature, workpiece surface roughness, tool life and tool
wear of the tool lubricated by the nanofluids. The performance of the nanofluid samples was compared with
the synthetic ester (SE). From the results, after conducted 100mm axial cutting length MJO+hBN+MoS2
recorded the lowest in cutting temperature and surface roughness compared to all samples. The result shows
that MJO+hBN+MoS2 has longer tool life (6500mm) compared to SE (6000mm). Abrasion and adhesion were
observed as the dominant tool wear mechanism. In conclusion, MJO+hBN+MoS2 shows better machining
performance and has the potential to be an environmentally friendly metalworking fluid
Evaluation of the Practicum at College of Arts and Sciences - University of Nizwa
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the practicum at University of Nizwa. The study identified the necessary skills that were acquired by student-teachers attributed through the practicum. It also aimed to identify whether there were significant differences in the evaluation of practicum due to the variable of program. The instrument used in the study consisted of 66 items. The samples of the study consisted of (48) student-teachers who were enrolled in the practicum at the college of arts and science at the University of Nizwa during the academic year 2014/2015. Tarekat Naqshabandiyyah Khalidiyyah in Malaysia: a Study on the Leadership of Haji Ishaq Bin Muhammad Arif
: The Tarekat Naqshabandiyyah Khalidiyyah lead by Haji Ishaq has many followers and is also known especially among other tarekat followers in Malaysia. This article is navigating through the leadership of Haji Ishaq Bin Muhammad Arif, the emergence of tarekat Naqshabandiyyah Khalidiyyah he lead and its evolution in Malaysia. Beside the data collected through the manuscript written by Haji Ishaq, his murids works were also studied. Field observations were also performed at several sites that are identified to be the centers of the movement. Also, some senior students of Haji Ishaq were interviewed to strengthen the arguments of the manuscript data. This study had discovered that tarekat Naqshabandiyyah Khalidiyyah lead by Haji Ishaq was large group with many followers, made up of diverse backgrounds, including academicians and professionals. Accuracy assessment of moderate resolution image spectroradiometer products for dust storms in semiarid environment.
Dust storms are strongly and negatively associated with the annual cycle of rainfall and coincide with the west and southwesterly winds in west and south west of Iran. Accuracy assessment of particulate matter products of moderate resolution image spectroradiometer was studied in this research. Moderate resolution image spectroradiometer products consist of aerosol optical thickness, its corresponding image red, green and blue and moderate resolution image spectroradiometer/ terra calibrated radiances 5 minutes L1B swath 1 km, which shows the environmental information at terrestrial, atmospheric and ocean phenomenology. Daily aerosol optical thickness data retrieved from moderate resolution image spectroradiometer from May 2009 to May 2010 were compared with the amount of particulate matter measured at ground in Sanandaj, Iran, using non-linear correlation coefficient. Results showed that the moderate resolution image spectroradiometer image / terra calibrated radiances 5 minutes L1B swath 1 km is able to detect dust storms distribution and their blowing direction over study area clearly. The air quality conditions obtained in with dust storm period were unhealthy and correlation coefficients between moderate resolution image spectroradiometer aerosol optical thickness and particulate matter concentration in this period were higher than without dust storm period. The moderate resolution image spectroradiometer aerosol optical thickness values lower than 0.1 were acquired uncertainty level. Comparison of moderate resolution image spectroradiometer images/ terra calibrated radiances 5 minutes L1B swath 1 km and image red, green and blue showed that moderate resolution image spectroradiometer has limitation in retrieval of aerosol optical thickness from the dust storm with high concentration of particulate matter. This study reveals that the algorithm which is applied to refine the aerosol optical thickness is not able to recognize the amount of particulate matter in low and very high concentrations sensitively.
